In a bind my city pours this weird stuff into the holes. They're supposed to put pressure on it and put more in, more pressure, more mixture (gravel and tar or something), more pressure, etc. until it's fairly level with the rest of the street.
Unfortunately, they just pour to the top and move on... so vehicles have to administer the pressure... and most of the stuff gets thrown around by the tires anyway.

thats pretty much how we seal all of our roads. Tarmac plus loose stones and then the cars run it over and in about a year its smooth. Then they dig it up again >.<

But they don't even do it right - by the end of the first day the hole isn't covered anymore and the tar and stuff is all over the road/sidewalk/sides of cars.

It's partially because they can't keep up with all the complaints.
But if they did it right the first time they wouldn't have to keep going back to it. mad

I noticed they finally filled these two really bad potholes on one of the roads I always drive down from work. If you're aware of both of them, you can usually straddle them and be fine. If you're slightly off, you hit both of them. gonk
The sun was in my eyes so I couldn't tell if they did a decent job or not.

Probably not.
It's a side road-ish kind of road. Used extensively by semis and people getting to the numerous plants around the area.

Oh, old topic I know, but I couldn't resist.
Right now I currently own my first car, which I hope never to get rid of--it's a S14. For those who don't do chassis numbers, that's a second generation chassis Nissan 240SX, mine being the 1995 model. Yes, it has 4 lug wheels, so I have to swap them out and do a 5 lug conversion later, but more importantly, it has OBD I, making it waaaaay easier to smog, even once you've modified it. =D
Not that I've modified it yet. I'm a poor college student, so you know the drill.
Anyway, for Mr. WBD KrazyK, yes, it could easily become a drift car, and while I do have plans for it (Tein Flex Full coil-overs suspension, lsd, and brake upgrades among them), I'm trying to talk myself out of it for the moment due to finance planning.

Oooh, that sounds shmexy.
In the meantime... I'd tell you the car that I'm eyeing up right now (it's for sale at a used car lot)... but for the life of me I can never remember what it's called. If I asked my bf he'd tell me right away what it is because he likes the car too (we both agree it only looks good as a convertible too lol)
