"No, no... Odd Keep lost, gone in big wind. Looking and searching. Find Odd Keep an' Moth." He tilted his head and watched the sentinel with an air of worry. He wanted her to understand, but his rambling speech wasn't exactly easy for others to follow.
"Looking. Seeking Keep. Seen? Help? Here, somewhere?"
Odd was, indeed, not too far off. The solid white sentinel moved from the dense stand of spruces only after the other two sentinels had gone, once the storm had died down. Moth directed him slowly as he glided through the trees and came to rest on a thick limb of an elm. The chirop seemed to know her way back, despite the destruction the Thunderbird had caused, which was a good thing.

After listening a bit more, something clicked in the Medic's mind. Immediately her ear-tufts perked straight up and she lifted her feathered brow in a slightly wide-eyed stare.
"You mean your Keeper was out during the Thunderbird's rage and you still haven't found him yet?" Mallow asked, her tone steady and calm despite the Chirop's obvious worry. She hoped she was right in finally getting some understanding, but she hoped that she was wrong on the interpretation.
She looked up from the pale companion and out into the darkness of tree trunks and sodden branches. "Okay..." she drawled lightly to herself, then looked down at Beetle. "Don't worry, Dear, we'll find him. Now which way did you already look, so that we don't retrace any already seen tracks?"

"Yeah... Yeah. Inna big wind. Big rage. LoudBird rage..." He motioned towards the sky with a clawed wing before looking to the medic with what appeared to be a bit of hope.
"Tracks? Beetle tracks that way. Bettle tracks that way already." He pointed his small muzzle in the direction he had already covered, back towards the south, where Deep Woods began.

The Medic glanced upwards towards the dark forest canopy, and then in the direction indicated by the little chirop. She gave a marginal nod of her head and then looked at him and the now attentive Glaz.
"Okay, Dear," she began smoothly, "lets go to north-west, shall we? Always got to move forward now." She shuffled her feet a little on the branch and looked out in the direction she had given. She wasn't sure on why to go that way, only that it just felt correct... woman's instinct, perhaps.
"Everyone ready now?" she asked a moment later. She looked down at the two chirops as she began to unfold her wings, "Glaz, you stay close now, you hear? Beetle, you lead; everyone keep their eyes open. Mmhmm. Good? Good." And with that -- and no real time for a decent reply -- Mallow crouched and then pushed off the branch, her wide wings giving a few rustled flaps before falling silent.

The slightly chubby chirop shot off. He was larger than some of the others and lived a bit of a more sedentary life, for Odd did tend to dote over both Beetle and Worm. "Big, white. Odd Keep white. Easy spot. Look for white!" He instructed as he flew ahead of Mallow and Glaz on leathery wings.

Mallow gave a small nod and a,"Mmhmm," and Glaz followed almost skillfully underneath, and to the side of her.
Maneuvering through the trees, the Sentinel was once more reminded of the damage caused by the Thunderbird's wrath. Sodden trunks and split branches, moss hung from still rain-glossed leaves like ragged cloth on bodies. She could smell the scent of wet dirt and decaying foliage from the ground below her, and at times see it and its messy state. So much seemed destroyed... but the medic remembered that the Thunderbird also brought new life and not just destruction...
Mallow blinked and shook her head, and moved her attention to what was ahead of her rather than below her. She glanced left and right every so often, and then suddenly something caught her eye.
"Beetle," she called, "there, to the left." In the indicated direction, something pale seemed to glow from a tree branch. Mallow gave a throaty, questioning hoot, and banked ever-so-slightly to the left.

Beetle squeaked cheerfully. "Odd! Odd! Odd Keep!"
Odd Winter's eartufts lifted with surprise and he turned his pale pink eyes in the direction of the hoot. He was almost hesitant at first, but responded with a soft, but friendly one of his own. He fluffed his ivory feathers and prepared to meet this stranger. He would be most surprised if she stayed to chat, as most would see him and move on.

From the happy squeaking of Beetle, and the friendly hoot, the Medic assumed that they had found the missing Keeper. And so, with a slight movement of her primaries, the Medic banked completely to the left and slowly glided towards the branch that the other Sentinel occupied.
A few minutes later, she gave a smooth, backwards flap of her wings, hovered for a second, and then alighted onto the woody perch some feet away from the other. The dark chirop landed less gracefully at her side in some needles. She gave herself a quick preen -- sifting through her flight feathers and putting them in their proper places -- and then folded her wings as she gave a bright-eyed blink.
"Hello," she began suddenly, but immediately smiled and allowed for a tone of laughter to enter her voice. "I do hope you forgive my intrusion, but we stumbled upon a chirop that I believe belongs to you -- gave my own chirop quite the scare." She sleeked her amber feathers in some embarrassment, but laughed good-heartedly at the ordeal as well.

Beetle landed with very little grace on the chest feathers of his master and made small, but happy squeaking sounds. At this, the other white chirop, the one that had already been perched on Odd's head, seemed annoyed.
Odd, however, grinned cordially and bobbed his head. She did not seem bothered by his appearance, which sort of puzzled him. "Hello, indeed! Thank you for bringing little Beetle to me..."
He glanced down his feathers at the bundle clinging to him. "How fares the tree?"
"All fine. Most fine. Lose two. Culls, no good breedstock make." Beetle reported in a matter of fact tone. The thought of the missing chirops bothered him a bit, but if they were stupid enough to try and fly in such a storm, it was their own fault.

The Medic gave a small chuckle, smiled, and bobbed her head in a wordless "You're welcome" to the pale and unusual Sentinel. She watched the Keeper almost curiously for a moment. She could not deny the fact that she found him different and odd looking, but she was an accepting Sentinel, and wasn't one to ever judge others on appearances.
She blinked her nictitating membrane and moved her focus to what the pair were talking about. Her head tilted to the side, and a moment later she lowered her ear-tufts and slightly sleeked her cinnamon plumage. "Oh dear, did I hear that you lost some of your chirops?"

"Mm, yes... Fortunately, just two, so says Beetle here. It could of been worse... I shudder to think if the tree fell... How is Worm?" He hastily turned his attention back to the large chirop, which seemed to any the smaller one perched on his head. Moth was marked in far more pink than Beetle was and of higher importance, and it obviously irked her when he relied on Beetle for aid.
"Worm? Wormy, Worm... Still little ones innaside. No sick, no bad from big wind bird."
"Good... Good."
He turned his pale pink eyes to Mallow and gave her a nod. "Currently, we are expecting little chirops... Worm and Beetle are my top breeders, so far. The best offspring have come from them. Oh! Where are my manners? I am Odd Winter, Chirop Keeper."

Mallow straightened herself and perked her eartufts in an interested manner. She gave a smile -- which showed equally on her face and in her eyes -- and a small hoot of happy surprise.
"Oh, how wonderful!" she exclaimed, "you must be very prou-." She broke off and blinked for a moment, as if momentarily confused about the Sentinel's sudden change of topic, but then gave a merry laugh.
"It's a pleasure, Odd Winter! Mmhmm, I do believe I've heard your name before -- back when I got Glaz here," she stepped back and lightly bumped the charcoal hued chirop (who had been attempting to somewhat hide at her side) with her wing. The companion inched forward a little and looked at the pale Sentinel and the irked chirop atop his head, but he backed up between Mallow's feet a second later.
"He's a bit shy," the Wildtype chuckled as she looked down at the dark furry thing at her feet. She canted her head for a second, then looked back up at Odd. "I'm Mallow, Medic, at your service," she stated cheerily and then bowed her head in a respectful manner.

"The pleasure is all mine..." The strange aberrant replied in his soft, smooth, and almost haunting voice. Although he was behaving in a polite manner, he was a little spooked by the fact that Mallow continued to entertain him with her presence.
A medic? Oh... Maybe she is curious...
He pondered her silently for a moment before parting his beak yet again. "Shy, perhaps, but at a glance he seems to be of good stock. He should serve you well, I would think."

"Well, he's certainly been doing a good job thus far," she replied with a matronly laugh as she glanced back down at Glaz. He continued watching the other chirops, though, and so she quickly brought her own attention back to Odd.
"Mmm, I must compliment you on your own chirops, though," she began, her voice quite the contrast by comparison to his, "I've only seen two, and I can quite confidently say that they're some of the finest I've ever seen. You've got some talent, you do." A new smile spread over her beak and eyes as she readjusted a wing. Her words may have sounded exaggerated, but they were completely genuine. ...As always.

"Moth I did not breed, but she is certainly one of the finest I have seen. Beetle and Worm are up there, too. I'll admit, I do breed some for food, but their lines are strictly for companions, unless there are a few that need culled." As he spoke of them, he seemed to become more chatty and happy to have another around.
Her smile seemed infectious, as a small one seemed to hint on his beak.
