He was pushing it and all sense of courtesy and good manners continued to remind him of this. He was stepping far over the boundaries of politeness to force his presence and company upon the mare. Regardless of the distance he kept, he could still be compared to those shameful creations that chose to exploit a mare for their own benefits - granted, he may not touch her but the tension in the air and the almost strained conversation were hardly the most desirable of conditions to find oneself in.
He was horrid.
And yet, there was a small voice within him that denied him the option of leaving. He wasn't sure what voice this was, nor what place it held within the hierarchy of many voices within his head but it was there and it was insistent. Oddly enough, though it's identity may have been obscure he was more inclined to agree with it than to dispute its request. By the way the mare was acting, she was apologising for bothering him and to leave would give entirely the wrong impression. After all, he had been the one to trail after the mare after she had offered him assistance.
"Ah Cyn, you are a devil are you not?" He murmured with the softest of sighs. His shoulders slumped for a few moments as he considered his options more carefully. Here he was, in the company of a young mare who could argue the case that he had forced himself upon her - not in horrid terms of course, but the company of the fluffball wasn't always desirable. However, on the other hand he was in the company of a mare who took everything in such a negative manner that he could take his leave and paint a very sorry picture of himself...
Well, he was old but he wasn't that terrible!
Could he use the excuse of selfishness to extend the duration of his stay and poorly shroud it in an act of common courtesy? By the manner in which she spoke this was highly unlikely but he could always attempt to persuade his own mind of this. No, he had decided that it was appropriate to stay until she realised that it was he who was at fault and not the other way round.
Ah, how little he knew about the stubborn negativity of the exotic creature before him. He was most likely in for a long night (and not in the pleasurable way) if she didn't find a means to dismiss herself first.
"I assure you I am far from generous and kind is definitely a novel interpretation of my behaviour," he mused after a few moments. He straightened after this and seemed to regather his composure - this of course made the tiny ball of fluff expand into a much larger ball of fluff - really he needed a hair cut of some sort. Shifting his weight, he turned his head back towards the mare and clucked his tongue very softly as though he were debating whether the question should be voiced or not.
He voted for 'it should'.
"However I must enquire as to why you feel you have forced your attentions upon me, really it is quite a bizarre take on affairs," he allowed the words to slip from his equine lips and oddly enough he didn't regret them at all. "If I may be so bold as to say so..."

Cassiel wasn't used to such a stubborn display of nature. In fact, she felt that the longer she stood the more and more irritated the black ball of hair and fur was becoming. Certainly it was easy to imagine - she couldn't see his face, so there was no telling what he was feeling . Ah, but Cassiel understood that any time in her company meant pain . . . possibly hurt . . . and she could guarantee a helluvalot of irritation!
There was no way Cyn was immune to this. . . . In fact, he'd been in her company quite long enough. There was no feasible way for him to be enjoying himself, much less looking forward to conversing with her (even if he was). No . . . this conversation was in need to come to a swift end but Cassiel couldn't bring herself to turn and wdalk away so rudely. Twilight and Epoine had raised her better than that, afterall. . . .
Besides which she'd tried that once already. All he did was follow. . . Furthermore, he was bigger than she and really offending him would do her no good. His rage would only heighten and perhaps he'd resort to violence. . . . Either way, it wasn't good for him and was becoming a bit of a detrimental health issue for Cassiel, or so her imagination and belief dictated.
So whatever was a mare to do?
Staring apathetically up at the stallion, she listened to his words. Far from generous . . . ? Hmm. "So does that make you not kind then?" It only made sense. . . if he couldn't call himself such a word than it only made sense he wasn't. So if not kind than what? Obnoxious? Curious? Cold? Cruel? Distance? Hairy?
The latter was a definite yes.
She'd never seen something so fuzzy. . . . If she weren't so concerned of upsetting him further, she very well may have smiled at the sight of Cyn. But such a thing, to do so freely, was a long time in coming. And now he wanted to know why she was apologizing? As if it wasn't obvious. . . Hmph. Her nostrils flared lightly and she dropped her gaze, staring hard at his fluffy feet as if she were a chastised child.
Well it was her fault. . . all of this was. Had she not stopped to help he might have been stuck in the tree but, at the same rate, he wouldn't be cursed in her company. You win some, you lose some, it was all the same. . . Sort of. Except the latter option was much more dismally cruel. But, if the black beast wanted an answer, he'd get one . . . who was Cassiel to judge and deny?
". . . because I have. I did. And I continue to do so. Here I am, am I not? And that was that. A simple response, perhaps one without weight, but in a sense it was truth. She was forcing her attentions upon him by standing here, by responding to his conversation, but talking, by breathing, by living. He could leave her, and she didn't understand clearly why he didn't, but regardless she was here. . . and that meant subjecting his poor soul to her.
A shame.

"To place a definition on an individuals actions is not necessarily advisable," he replied after a few moments of quiet consideration, "What actions others deem to be kind would be viewed as an act of manipulation by another." He paused after this and shook his head, hoping dearly that his hair would cure the itch at his ear just a little. It wasn't an infuriating one but it was highly likely that it would escalate to such a point within a matter of minutes if he didn't deal with it now.
"Perhaps I should permit you to view me in whatever light you deem necessary but applying such assumptions of 'generosity' to my character is not something I am accustomed to, " really, it was a roundabout way of him informing her that she was well within her rights to call him whatever she pleased. He may not agree with her choice of words and nor would he agree on how she viewed her own individuality but he was not a stallion who could exercise absolute power and change the way in which those around him thought
Admittedly, even if he had that skill he wasn't certain he'd enjoy it.
Nevertheless, the subject was quickly changed to his former question and he could do nothing more than remain silent as she explained why she was at fault. He had been in her company for quite some time now and still struggled to come to terms with how such a soquili could view the world in such a bizarre light. He was fairly certain that he was capable of removing himself from her company should he choose to...so why was it that she felt at fault?
Were all women this confusing?
"M'lady allow me to inform you of one thing," he murmured gently, flicking his tail against his flank as he proceeded forward once again. Listening carefully to the murmured instructions within his ear, he easily avoided each obstacle and after a few moments he was scarcely a foot from her. "I am under no obligation to be here and as beautiful as your voice might be I am capable of leaving should I desire it," he cleared his throat at this and released a sigh.
"It is not your fault that I choose to remain, I made that decision alone," he pointed out patiently. His tone was matter of fact, he attempted to avoid anything that may have caused misunderstanding but alas...even he knew that very few creatures were ever on the same wave length. There was bound to be some crossed wires here but reallyhe would rather she had simply dismissed him herself.
Did she lack confidence?
"Though if it would help matters I can proclaim that you have such power over me?"
