I didn't have a PS1 or SNES. N64 FTW! So it wasn't until I started dating my boyfriend that I was introduced to the FF series. Which I was instantly obsessed with and bought all the rest. XD My collection is incomplete now that I've sold the games I didn't like (Tactics SUCKS!), but I don't mind. I didn't want to own games I didn't ever want to see again, let alone play. XP

@Balthea: Lolz. So are you`re not that much of a gamer are you? I don`t blame you. Like CC, you have to play and play... and play to see the whole story fall into place. Like there is so much gaming that you already know what`s going to happen next. All I want is to see how the first FFVII was like.
But you guys!! I went to this ComiCon in New York and they were show-casing the first ever Final Fantasy game. That thing looks soo Jurassic. xD It`s the one with two cross-swords. And Square-Enix had a huge boothe!! I bought Cloud for $27.00. They were sold out of Vincent Valentine!! My mom bought Kadaj for the same price as Cloud. I was so disappointed that they weren`t selling Zack or Aerith. Dx
And what is her real name?? AERITH or AERIS?

Oh, I'm a HUGE gamer. In way more than RPGs though. I just didn't have the FF games as a child. Probably should have noted that I started dating my boyfriend when I was fourteen six years ago. XP So, I was kind of a child when I first played FFVI and then FFVII. Before then I was more into Starfox, Pokemon, Mischeif Makers, Age of Empires... because those were the systems I had. Now I've got a PS2, Gamecube, SNES and N64. <3 those machines. XD

It has few redeeming factors for me, and I'm just lucky that I was able to sell it for a little more than I paid considering it's hard to get.

@Suffice: Oh wow....I know like, 3 Filipinos now. biggrin 7 years ago...that's around the time when I started hearing about Final Fantasy....I think. Might've been more. I got my PS when I was around 7 years old. biggrin So yeah, you can tell that I'm a veteran gamer. xd AND I STILL HAVE MY PS!!! heart It's special too because my dad's friend tinkered it somehow so it could read copied games. *Coughs*Illegal*cough*

When FFVII was first translated into English, her name was spelt Aeris. This was mainly because the Japanese pronounce it Earisu (or something similar to that).
Years later, they decided to change the spelling to a more 'correct' translation of Aerith, so that her name looked like the word 'Earth'. Older fans of the series got so used to calling her Aeris, or just preferred the sound of it that they just continued calling her that. Newer fans, or fans less attacted to the older spelling call her Aerith.
No one, except really a**l people care about which one you use. There used to be huge debates over it, but nowadays nobody really cares. Everyone knows who you are talking about no matter what spelling you use.
FFTactics is a PS1 game that came out shortly after FFVII. It's, well, a tactics RPG. FFCrystal Chronicles is well, I don't really know how to describe it. (Action RPG?). It wasn't very well recieved, though they seemed to do well with the sequel.
Between a PS3 and Wii... you are the only one who can make that decision. Go through lists of games you'd actually want to buy and see which one has a larger list. That's normally the easiest way. Also, look at future games, see which system has the most games you are interested in for the future.

Unless she's a FPS fan, an Xbox360 is useless. I mean, Halo3 rules, but other than that, the rest of the games are mainly more hardcore FPS. Great for people who like those games, terrible for anyone else. Which is why both the Xbox and Xbox360 cost Microsoft money to make, rather than making them money. XP

@ Balthea: The funny thing is that I don`t even know what the hell FPS is, lol. That`s why I asked between a PS3 and a Wii because I was never fond of the Xbox systems at all.

I'm from California. My parents are from Vietnam. They love Filipinos, lol! xd It's because the Filipinos are Catholic and because they provided refugee camps for the Vietnamese boat people. Me has a Filipino friend, though he has a Vietnamese last name for some reason. xd
I keep my PS for memories. smile

FPS=First Person Shooter, ie. games where you have guns like Halo 3, or Dirge of Cerberus.
It all depends on whether you like classic gameplay, with a controller, or home arcade gameplay, like the Wii allows.
