Ciardha straightened when she sidled up to him. A shiver ran through him at the feel of those silky feathers brushing over his back. "Hm, it depends on who I'm with and where I am." Silver eyes watched her with even more curiousity. She was quite the intriguing mare. "And you, Lady Merlei? What do you do for fun?"

Ooh, and she liked that shiver.
Perhaps he'd be the one to pull her wings free from burden...
"I don't swim," she replied, glaring at the water. "I sink. So that's not fun. And I don't fly."
Well that wasn't supposed to come out...
"I...don't know." Now that the question was turned to her, she realized how complex it was. "I run and buck and graze and watch the foals play and sometimes indulge and play with them..."

"You don't swim?" Cia blinked at her. "Swimming is fun." He nudged one of her wings. "These can help you. I've seen winged Soquili swim and use them to help. Like birds, the Kingfishers?" The Stallion pranced away towards the water. "Come on, I'll teach you!"

Her stomach knotted up. Swimming sucked. Plain and simple.
"I sink," she whispered as he left her side. Slowly, she pulled her wings tight to her body and moved after him. All she could do was trust him now. And if she sunk... well, she'd get her revenge.
"You realize that if I die, I'm haunting you, right?"

Cia splashed into the water. Looking back over his shoulder, he grinned. "You won't die. I won't let you."
The water was above his hooves and that's where he stayed. Pawing at the water. Sending the crystalline droplets showering through the air. He was having fun in the water.

'I won't let you.'
Her heart skipped a beat and she smiled, a smile that met her eyes, which glittered like the water as she slowly, carefully joined him.
She raised each hoof up high, letting the slight current flit around the fur at her legs. She watched him with open curiosity and seeing him having fun, she nosed the water roughly, sending a spray towards him.

The mare had beaten him to it. He leapt away a bit, sending more water up. The shiny black pelt was now soaked in one place. "You know I will have to revenge myself now." Cia said it with a straight face.
He leapt forward again, splashing in the water to soak Merlei. "Haha!"

She tossed her head back as a large wave slammed into her side, soaking her back and most of the feathers on one wing.
Amerlei tossed her head up with a snort, surprised, and held the wing away from her body. No...
She'd nearly drown before, due to these damned feathers... They weighed her down, kept her chained to the shore.

They were still in the shallows and there was no danger of drowning. Cia pranced through the water, playfully nipping her wet wing. "Those are very good if you want to splash someone." Winds had an unfair advantage in water fights.

She watched him; he had the grace that came with the prime of his age but the playful spark of a colt. She couldn't help a smile.
At his words, she gazed down at the outspread appendage. Wings? Well...if he insisted...she'd try it.
The gold tips buried under the surface of the pool and Merl flung it upwards, sending a spray of water towards him.
She whinnied in surprised. He was right! That was a much bigger splash than she'd accomplished before!

"Ack!" He glared at her from behind his sodden mane. His front half was entirely soaked now. Water dripping from his braids and mane, getting into his eyes. It was a comical look really.
He lowered his head as front legs splayed. Seeming to nuzzle the water. Only to spray the water out of his mouth at her through his teeth.

Amerlei couldn't help the giggle that resulted from his drowned-rat appearance. "You look dreadful!" she announced gleefully, testing her wings against the air. The wind coming from them rippled the water's surface.
Then she got a faceful of water herself! She snorted, squealed, and pranced out a little farther into the deep, the surface lapping at her chest now. This time, she used the other wing to cause a spray of water, peering out from behind a flat, wet foremane.

Cia cackled, following her. He managed to dodge most of the spray this time. The mare was in the water though, and she wasn't freaking out due to it. Their little water war seemed to be doing a good job of distracting her.
The Stallion reared, coming back down to let another wave loose. Cia was grinning, snickering. This was a lot of fun!

She wasn't even aware of being so deep, but when he followed her, she reared up and thrashed hooves into the water.
Then she spun and leapt farther away. Which meant she leapt into deeper water. And her hooves no longer brushed the sand...
Wings flailed out, flapping helplessly against the water as she tried to keep her head up. "C-Cia!"

The Stallion lunged forward, grabbing the back of her neck. Pain and soreness were the last things on his mind. Hooves dug into the sand, grunting everytime he was hit with a wing. Pulling with all his strength, he dragged Merlei back into the shallows where the water lapped just over the tops of their hooves.
His jaws hurt, and he'd gotten a few wingflaps to the face. "Definitely... teaching you to swim."
