David watched as Ebony's face underwent a series of different emotions: anger, caution, anger again, defeat. It was a little amusing but David was reminded of the situation , once, following her eyes to the door. As she seemed to gather all the strength within her body to utter such a simple question, David reacted instinctively, playfulness returning to his charming features as he was pleased to find that the game was still going. With that thought installed, he knew he couldn't let her off the hook so easily. Though she had just sat down, he strutted over to her and took one of her clenching fists in his, forcing it to unfold, and then pulled her off her feet.
"Good to see we've come to an agreement, but come on. Now that the deal's set, I gotta keep up my half of the bargain," he laughed, gently tugging her towards the furthest wall away from the door, which seemed to be a simple wall except for the fact that it was covered in heavy draperies. It matched the other walls that were adorned with elegant tapestries and descending candle stands but it seemed to be hiding something. Still smiling, David pulled on one of the curtain's ropes and watched as the dark curtains spread out and revealed their true nature: a giant mirror. It was able to reflect the entire room, though what it needed to reflect was up for questioning, especially with the alluring mattress placed in the middle was for.
"Now..watch," he whispered, as if mesmerized himself by the entire process. Pulling the rope yet again, a loud -POP- was heard, soon followed by a soft creaking. In one of the corners where the curtains had separated and gathered, an awkward edge was poking through, one that David led Ebony to. Pushing the curtain out of the way, a small lighted path was revealed from an opening created in the glass, a doorway.
"Ladies first."

It surprised her when the man pulled her onto her feet and dragged her across the room with that playful glint in his metallic eyes. What was he planning? Nothing obscene, no...he promised and David didn't particularly look the type to break a promise if he could help it. No, he was much too stubborn for that. Then what?
Confusion painted her face when the host revealed a mirror wall behind the giant curtains which seemed to house another hidden item in itself. Why was such a door placed there? It was rather odd, most especially for a club such as this. She peered at the doorway and it's path with dismay. Ebony did not like going into things blind and she certainly did not like turning her back on David. He had yet to earn her trust completely.
She'd become defiant once more, refusing to move, yet offered him a challenging smirk. "But doesn't a gentleman always lead?"

It was a constant game of give and take, though David didn't seem the least bit irked by the woman's ceaseless uncertainty, hidden in empty threats and flirtatious wit. Ebony was being hunted down, the behavior was completely understandable. But of course, he wasn't going to give in one hundred percent. Strutting casually towards the suspicious looking entrance, he stopped momentarily in front of her, a mockingly smug look directed at her defiant smirk, "And here I thought you saw me as nothing more than a punching bag. Or are punching bags and gentlemen the same things in your book?"
David ended the comment in a soft laugh before walking into the surprisingly spacious hallway. Tossing a cheerful "come on" to her once again as soon as he was nearing the exit of the short passageway, David continued to wear his flirtatious grin. The mysterious passageway seemed to lead to yet another hall, one that was even more suspicious looking despite being exquisitely lighted and painted with beautiful cream wallpaper. Once she had entered the hallway, he made sure to tinker with a keypad on the back of the door, forcing the mirror door to shut quietly. Who knew that a host's club could have so many secrets, so much high tech equipment? ...The question that probably lingered in every client's mind was probably the reason behind having such equipment. David let out a laugh at this thought and continued towards the end of this new hall, decorated with numerous doors and space.
"Come on, we're almost to the break room. Once in there, you'll be two seconds from your freedom."

The flurry of emotions that coursed through Ebony and couldn't seem to be controlled well when around David finally found their graceful calm. It was oddly eerie as the thief became deathly quiet. One would have thought something was horribly wrong with the lack of banter from her, but upon searching her face they would see a certain degree of ease mixed with a look of distance as if she were remembering something very intimate from long ago. Her timid flaxen strands gave a slight shudder to black, but in the second they had, the strands flickered back to blonde as if nothing had happened at all.
Following close after David, Ebony finally gave a light chuckle to his question after her brief moment of thought. "Not exactly, but a great gentleman would be anything for a great woman. Including a punching bag." She chuckled again to her own private joke.
Her good mood was banished as soon she remembered the situation at hand and followed hurriedly after David towards the next destination. She had no time for a trip down memory lane.

Luckily, David had been looking towards an out-of-place door at the end of the hall as Ebony's disguise wavered during her thoughts. The blond hair was still blond when he had returned his attention back to her, curious to her newfound silence. About to verbally investigate the woman's thoughtfulness, his mouth quietly closed after he finally heard the woman laugh. Ebony was fine, nothing to worry about. Or maybe..the situation did deserve more of his attention that she did. Unknown brutes were poking their noses here and there, desperately trying to pick up the faintest scent of the blond, who seemed terrified at the thought of capture and here he was, playing around and strolling the hosts' halls casually and without a care in the world. David felt the heavy weight of guilt pulling at the sides of his mouth, and in hopes of redeeming his pride, reached back around and took hold of Ebony's hand once again, this time squeezing it a bit more worriedly. Though she had returned to her usual sassy self, it seemed the Chinese man's charm had suddenly been overcome with fear. Gently but hurriedly pulling Ebony towards the end of the hallway, David made sure not to allow her to see his troubled face. He had been playing when she was really in danger! What kind of gentleman was that?! Opening the door with his free hand, that's when his fears became real as he heard a clicking from behind them. The clicking of a door.
Paralyzed with terrified curiosity, David's eyes scanned the numerous doors among the hallway, waiting to see which door was beginning to creak open. Was it Ryan's? Shunyuan's? As long as it wasn't his own door, David could continue with Ebony's escape easily and swiftly. But if the worst came to worst, he'd have to think and fast.

Surprise was written upon her face again when the host took hold of her hand and gave it a quick squeeze. His mood had changed and he looked to be somewhat grimmer than its previous light, happy counterpart. It made her wonder what dark thought had crossed his mind to make this drastic switch. Yet Ebony was more distracted with how every time David happened to touch her, she felt that same tightening feeling in her chest. It made her blush again, but she couldn't understand why.
This moment was interrupted by the sound of a door opening. Ebony immediately fell into fight mode as she wrenched her hand free of David's and took on a defensive stance. So this was it. She'd did her best to elude them, but those bastards weren't giving up on catching her. 'Let them come then. I'm not going without a fight.' Those silver eyes shone with determination.

David watched in horror as his own door began to open and Nanu's voice echoed throughout the halls, irritably commenting to the men he was leading, "I'm telling you, we don't do anything suspicious. Man, we're just a host club. --I know, I know. You're looking for some chick. Yeah, like we don't have plenty of those here. Sheesh."
That stupid brat! What was he doing, showing those strangers around their club? Especially to an employee's only area! David made a mental note to steal one of Nanu's clients when he next received a chance. But now, the situation demanded all his attent-- Ebony easily removed her hand from the man's grasp and David stared in wonder at the woman's sudden change. She had been so quiet and cheery one minute and now her eyes...they were blazing with a fighter's spirit. The seconds slowly ticked by and David watched helplessly as the door opened further and Ebony positioned herself firmly into the carpet, seemingly preparing for a fight.
What was this? Slow motion Mortal Kombat?! Time returned to its usual speed and David let out an agitated "tsk" as he instinctively and wordlessly reached out and pulled Ebony back towards the end door, throwing her inside the break room. He took one last glance behind his back and then stumbled in after her, clicking the door soundlessly shut. Turning the lock carefully, he growled to her in a hushed voice, "What the hell do you think you're doing? I thought you didn't want to get caught!"
For once, he verbally expressed his concern, though it was a bit awkwardly represented. Nevertheless, a confession was a confession and David's cheeks seemed to redden a little.

All of her attention, all of her focus was on that door as it crept open, that annoying twerp from the counter's voice sounding much louder than need be. Her eyes narrowed. Was the boy trying to help by being that loud, letting them know of their approach? Or maybe he only sounded so loud because Ebony's ears were listening so intently, waiting to pounce the moment the men took notice of her there.
She hadn't even realized David was still there behind her until he'd snatched her arm and dragged her yet again into another room. He really needed to stop doing that else she'd make good on her promise to give him a brutal makeover. "Of course I don't want to get caught! But when a cat's cornered, the only thing left to do is use her claws!" the British woman hissed back at him.
Ebony could have punched the wall then, but thought better to since it would make a much louder sound than their bickering. She remained content on wringing that metal belt of hers with such force it looked like it would snap in two. Of course it didn't and wouldn't. The floodgates finally opened and all her frustration came out in a jumbled mess. "These damn Enforcers sure are a piece of work. I've never had this much trouble getting away before they showed up." Her sudden bout of anger redirected onto David then. "And how come you care so much if I get caught or not? It's not like I'm your sister or anything." Ebony's face changed again to something more blank and questioning rather than angry when she looked up to glare at the man. 'I-is he...is he blushing? But why?' That recognition ignited her own cheeks to rouge up, yet mostly for snapping at him. The fact was that he was helping her and she should be grateful.
Ebony went quiet and pressed her ear to the door to listen to the arguing trio outside. It sounded like the two men who'd been trailing her were getting frustrated with their chase now. Or it could have just been having to listen to Nanu this whole time. Either way, seemed like they were giving up.

The minute Ebony had begun to hiss and fume, really looking like the cat she described herself as, David let out a paternal sigh and allowed her to rant. Girls always seemed to bottle up their feelings. He thanked the gods he had a sister so that he actually knew how to handle these situations. As she continued to growl her frustrations out, David began to look and wander around the incredibly plain room, before stopping at the simple back door. As he raised a hand to tinker with the lock, Ebony finally redirected her hushed rage at the man, piercing him from the behind straight into the heart, "And how come you care so much if I get caught or not? It's not like I'm your sister or anything."
He turned to face her and there seemed to be an unspoken face off, her eyes like needles pricking his entire face in search for an answer, his eyes coldly glancing her over in his own simmering irritation. He was trying to help her and yet she kept throwing him this attitude, like he was the one pursuing her! David felt himself tense with the recognition of his own anger and he turned back to undo the lock, hoping to calm himself. No, it was just the situation. Everyone was anxious, it was just her nerves. But his hands seemed to shake in restrained irritation, as he finally unlocked the door and swung it open. It lead to a deserted alley way, the sounds of a busy street just a few feet away. Yes, it was just the situation that had caused her to lash out like she did. David continued this mantra quietly, clenching and unclenching his adrenaline-filled fists, before finally gathering the courage and confidence to respond, though his answers came out icier, a little harsher than intended,
"Who said you're cornered? If you had just trusted me a bit more, we would have been able to get here without the heightened anxiety, you know. But..I guess that's the problem with most cats. They don't like to trust, do they? Anyways, maybe next time we meet, maybe if you trust me then, that's when I'll tell you why I care so much if you get caught or not. Until then, here: your freedom."
With a furrow of his brow, he kicked the door open again as it crawled back to closing, producing a loud echo that bounced off the walls of the break room, the corridor behind them, the alley and into the warm summer night. David turned and growled to the quiet blond, "GO ON. Scram!"

His own attitude turned sour towards her made Ebony's want to flare up yet again, but his words had pierced through her like a bullet. Why? Why did she feel so miserable for making him upset? She barely knew this man, but he somehow knew how to get under her armor. Fate sure was cruel in bringing a person like this into her life now. Someone who could easily make her break her normal indifferent charade. How was that?
With eyes falling to the floor in shame and perhaps a bit in sadness, Ebony walked past David without a word. That was until she was out the door and slowly turned to face him, her blonde hair melting back to violet just for him in this moment. "David...thank you." And before he could say anything, the thief was gone, like a shadow in the night.
