Her dark eyes moved towards his face as grip on her paw loosened and withdrew causing her to slowly and hesitantly place her paw back down onto the ground. His expression seemed to change and she feared the worst hearing his low breath. However, he never ceased to surprise her. His dark lips moved and a deep, hoarse voice that seemed to darkened the very mood of the air caused a sweet warm chill to run down her spin. Her brain seemed to slow, unable to process the words that left his mouth and felt her brows crease in confusion. However, still, the hairs on her back lifted ever so slightly, her body anticipating his next movements.
That same branch moved towards her as though to fill its master's desire to 'see'. It was Shizuka's turn to turn her body still as her eyes closed, allowing him to do as he desired, tracing a slow image of her face. The tension in her body slowly sacked. "What do you see?" she quietly wondered with her breathless voice as though if any louder, the song that hummed in her body would vanish; she didn't want that.
Then, her eyes snapped opened and whirrled as she felt his branch trace her wings. A dark fear outlines the sweetness of the movement and caused her body to stiffen again. The wings twiched and shrinked back at the touch. Never before had she allowed others to approach her in fear that they would manage to discover her weakness, her lovely wings. Already, the delicate touch caused her body to lower weakly as a fine shiver ran through the nerves on her back and down to the very tips of her paws.

By now Ryn had recovered from Shizuka's touch. He withdrew the branch and said thoughtfully, "I see a young girl who has not yet reached the full potential inside herself yet, someone who has gained wisdom far beyond her years, but is still young and naive, in the best of ways. Curious, very." He pulled back his lips in a ghost of a smile. Shizuka was an element all her own. She could crack the fine barriers between fantasy and reality.
He remembered her delicate wings, one careless flick of his branch would rip the fine membrane in half. As he had touched them, she had suddenly become weak and helpless, like a butterfly trapped in a net, his net. So easily crippled in the most terrible of ways. Loss of flight, loss of freedom.

Slowly, Shizuka pivoted her body away so that her wings where out of the male's reach. There was a deeper fear in her soul that caused that subconcious reaction to take root in her body. That dark yet sweet weakness, she willed herself to believe, was not for him to hold nor any male that came to her. She would not be caged. Even though those thoughts ragged through her mind, in the end, she still stood an arm's length away from him, clearly within his mercy.
Her mind returned to her and her own smile graced her lips in amusement. Despite her previous fall, her body was willed back into its slow, delicate and ever distant pace. Slowly, if not hesitantly, her paw eased towards his face "Did you find that out here?" she wondered aloud as her paw barely grazed the side of his face just as he his touch had passed over her jawbone before she withdrew again.

Ryn saw how she shyed away from his touch. He knew he had found her weakness. It made him feel powerful, and scared at the same time. He had no intentions to hurt Shizuka, but anything could happen at any time. He shook his head to clear it, and the dark thoughts out of it.
As her paw grazed the side of his face, he felt his head move with it as though he had been struck by a powerful blow. Her touch was softer than any kittens fur, but with a hesitant edge. He raised a branch and placed it over Shizuka's paw. He pressed down and gently lowered it to the ground. "yes"

A soft shutter rippled through her skin as his branch touched her paw softly, in the same careful manner as when stroking her wings. Despite the care he took, her initial reaction ruled and she flinched and shyed away a fraction before allowing him to lower her paw. His answer brought a thoughtful crease to her brow as she attempted to fathom his answer. Her soft expression turned towards him. "Rather convenient."
She then traced her gaze along his strange figure where his features rustled and cracked with sounds of the forest. It was familiar; it was more calming than one would imagine. "Is it so bad to be curious?" She asked referring to his previous description of her.
