(I apologise if you recognise this one)

"Fascinating! Well, this one could prove to be quite a lot of fun. But in order to have fun with him I need to find out more about him, learn his story."

She flicked through the file she had on Shadow Dragon, there was not much to read. Besides his intelligence, his strength, and the magic that seemed strong in him she really did not know much about this specimen yet. Rose had uploaded one of her oldest programs, remnants from when the machine was first made.

The darkness continued for a few seconds longer than usual, until at last some faint light seemed to return. He could start distinguishing shapes in the half gloom. He was in another humongous room without any walls or ceilings in sight. He was standing in a corridor, large bookcases stood on each side of him. It was very still in this room except for a hush of noise in the background, a scratching sort of noise. If he were to take down one of the books he would see a name on each. Inside the cover is written word for word the story of that person, if it is a life that is still continuing he would find that the ink is still writing words at the back of the book. He could find the story of anyone, anywhere, even his own.

Silent Moonlit Shadow

He is alone, in a room. A room with no doors or windows, there are only four things in this room. Himself, a table, a pen, and a sheet of blank paper. If he picks up the pen to write something quite remarkable happens.

A whisp of multicoloured smoke emerges from the tip of the pen, it floats up higher, becoming thicker and thicker. At last there is a shape before him, a blue cat emerges from the smoke. The cat sits down gracefully on the table, folds its tail around himself and opens his mouth to speak.

"I am the cat in the pen, I will grant you one wish and one wish only. So come mortal, say what it is you desire."

Having done his thing the cat casually starts licking his paws and fur waiting for the youth in front of him to decide.

Lunar knowing that something is strange thinks about this. "Hum maybe if i wish for the pen back i could draw a key on the paper fold...no that wouldn't work... I could just use my magic but what fun would that be.... I know!" "Cat i wish for a door to appear." Lunar said Hoping that his plan would work.

(very very sorry for the late reply)

Silent Moonlit Shadow

The cat made a face of surprise and looked at the boy again.

"Do you mean to tell me that when presented with the option of wishing for anything in the universe your only wish is to leave?"

The cat smiled and made a sly face the way only a cat can.

"You're a cautious young one, or perhaps just anxious to move on to another adventure. Very well .... " he flicked his tail and a door instantly materialised behind Silent Moonlit Shadow" .... You're wish is my command."

Darkness engulfed him again as if someone were dimming the lights. Soon some new sensations started hitting his senses. He felt off balance and the floor underneath him was moving, there was a hard wind blowing and the taste of salt in the air.

"Don't just stand there yah silly boy! Grab that rope and pull for god's sake!"

He was in a small wooden fishing boat, a storm was coming on the horizon and everyone was busy preparing for it. It would hit them soon, and it would hit them hard.

He grabbed a book that was near him, on it was the name, 'Scott Stryker, The Life Of A Super Soldier'. This book was actually finished, but it was a very long book.

This man lived a long, and active life. He didn't live alone, which means that perhaps there is a chance for me as well.

He then called for his book. A book a few aisles down and a few shelves up, floated to him. On it read, 'Shadow Dragon, The Life Of A Guardian'. His book was not finished. It was currently writing. He read parts about his training, and about his early adventures. He read something that got his attention.

This is interesting, it mentions something about a machine, and dreams. Hmmm.

He put the book down and waited. He wasn't sure what he was waiting for, but he knew that if he waited, it would happen.

Shadow Dragon 13

Rose observed with interest the stories that Shadow Dragon read. The book was more or less a projection for Shadow Dragons own memories, that was what made this program so interesting. She could make her subjects reveal information to her which they already knew. Rose threw in the little hint of the machine for fun, it's always good to keep them on their toes.

"Hmm a warrior. No a guardian, with a lot of experience. He's already lived through a lot of adventures. What could possibly make this man feel uncomfortable or out of place?"

Music was playing, a waltz tune in fact. The room was another grand and large one but this one was a more human scale. The lights were dimmed out but even so he could see the glimmer and shine of many fine objects and fabrics within the room. He was standing on the dance floor sourrounded by a ring of people in fine evening wear. He himself had not changed his attire at all. A voice rang out over the crowd silencing the murmur of conversation.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is now time for the dance. The prince himself will open the floor with a lady of his own choice."

All eyes turned eagerly to watch Shadow Dragon's next move.

Prince Shadow, as it seemed to be now, slowly pivoted around to scope out the room. He knew that most of the women there, would misinterpret his choice. The stuck up ones would either fret over 'why not me, why her?' and, 'oh my, he picked me, he picked me, he likes me.' A vast majority of the women imediately in the circufrance of the circle around him already had partners.

He then spotted the woman he would invite to dance with him. He had never seen her before in his life, or at least he could not remember her. That was understandable do to how busy he must be, and how many aquantances he must have. He didn't know what those values might be, but he assumed they had to be high.

She was not short, but not tall. Had long, straight, black hair, and green eyes that were hiding behind square, black framed glasses. She was beautiful, whether she knew it or not, and others would agree if she didn't have the glasses. She was not with anyone, or there was no one near her at the time. She looked shy, and yet wlcoming in her gorgeous maroon dress.

He walked towards her, the crowd parted as he did so. He got to her and bowed politely, "Ma'am, would you care to dance?" At first she didn't know, or believe he was talking to her, but after a second, she realized this was actually happening. She said "Yes," what else could she say? This was the prince, after all. What else would she want to say, this was every woman's dream after all.

Shadow Dragon 13

"Hmmr refined and polite, it must be his education that comes out. But how low can he go, this knight in shining armour?"

Rose smiled and pressed a few buttons, the day had only just begun but it seemed it would be a good one.

The fine glitz and soft music was gone. In a few blinks of an eye it had been replaced by steel, concrete, halogen lights, and a floor that was treacherously unsteady. He was standing in front of a bench upon which were crates and crates of fish. Around him were many more lost souls bent over fish. They cut it open, gutted it, threw the good fish down a hatch next to them and left the bad fish in crates on the floor. From the motion he could tell they were in the hull of a ship. A man, who did not stink of fish, carrying a clipboard walked down the rows making notes and shouting loudly at the workers. It was a small floating hell. The man came up to Shadow Dragon,

"What are yah standing around for! Get back to work yeh idiot!" A fist was waved in Shadow Dragon's face to emphasise his point.

Shadow heard the man, and sarted thinking, This is a strange time to place me in a situation. Am I here on my way to a mission, or am I here to do a mission? If I snapped at this man, I would put myself in a possition that would endanger a possible mission. I have no way of telling at this time, whether or not I am here to do a mission, or here by force. Either way, I think I will put up with this for now till I get some more information about why I'm. I will cut and gut these fish like the rest, for now till it is time for me to do otherwise.

Shadow Ignored the fist, and said nothing. He emediatly went back to work mimicking the others.

Shadow Dragon 13

Rose watched as Shadow Dragon tried to make sense of his new surroundings. He seemed to have taken a low key approach to the new situation, playing along with the rules. The doctor made some notes in his file, paused and stroked her fingers through her blond hair as she reasoned aloud.

"He obviously sees his role in the world as a guardian, lives to serve others. That's what his past seems to suggest. Is he merely someone's tool? Does he only obey orders? Or does he have personal goals, feelings, vendettas...."

She wasn't sure what the answers would be, but she was curious whether in time she would be able to find out.

"For now we're adopting a slightly new approach of examination."

She reached over and pressed a button. The button was "pause /autoplay". Leaving Shadow Dragon to his fate she busied herself with other characters.

Time seemed to drag on forever. It was hard for him to be sure as there was no sunlight in the room or a watch of any sort. Sometimes the same inspector would come down making notes on his clipboard. Sometimes other men would come walking down the ladder that led to the deck above them. Most of the time it was a boring never ending job, the fish in crates just kept coming.

Thirteen days went past. Shadow might have been the only one under the deck that knew what time it was due to his experience. In those three days, his body had gotten used to the small rations. He found minimal humor in the irony of having all this fish on board, and yet minimal food to eat. He knew that, since no ships had met them to make trades, they would pull into a port soon.

He decided that he would go into the next phase of figuring out what he had originally planned when he first decided it was neccessary to get on this boat, when they pulled into the port. There wasn't anything he could do for the other men on this boat. They might be treated poorly, but he knew they weren't slaves. They chose to work there under the poor conditions.

"Alright scum, we will pull into the port of France tomorrow. We, I mean you all, will move the fish from the boat to the pier so that sales can be made. You know the rules, so I expect you to follow them. You don't want to know what will happen to you if you break the rules." The inspector, with his clip board, walked up to Shadow, and spoke into his ear, "I know about you. I'll be watching you. Don't try anything funny, you hear?" He yelled for everyone back to work, then left up to the deck.

They finally arrived in France and were allowed off the ship. They were only allowed to move the crates of fish onto the pier. He followed a long, and thought about why he made himself come here. Someone might assume he was following orders or working on a mission as a mercenary does, but he wasn't. The only tasks he did, were those he assigned himself, or that innocent people asked him to do.

The purpose of his existence, he knew, was to protect the innocent. The only orders he follow were those of the events that happened around him. He believed that not even fate or destiny controlled his actions. He protected anyone he could, when he could.

He sneaked off of the ship with ease after dark when most of the supervisors and guards were asleep. No one noticed he left, they would in the morning, but by then, he would be impossible to find. He got a new outfit in a hidden, yet specific location that he had remembered. It was in a package that was mailed to that specific location, and left there for him. He then started looking for clues to remind him as to why he was there.

First light came, and the gossipers were already up, getting ready to spread the news. He bartered for one of the pages they were selling, and read it. It explained a situation about a man that was demanding the surrender of France or else he would get merciless.

It all suddenly came back to him. He could have sworn he had just completed this mission, and that the being he destroyed was no more. He didn't let it phase him too much though. He started on his hunt for the whereabouts of this man whom already conquered twelve other countries.

Shadow Dragon 13

"Hmm...." Dr. Rose had to admit she was somewhat confused and impressed by his behaviour. Most of her patients were dashing and daring heroes who came to her clinic from afar. Most of them could not handle mundane, boring, or monotonous tasks. She had misread Shadow Dragon, making him even more interesting than she had originally thought. The young lady was starting to understand more about him and his life.

"Let's change the scenery a little."

He was in a small confined space, sitting in a comfortable leather seat. The vehicle was moving softly and smoothly, the noise of the engine was barely audible. The windows were tinted so he could not see out. The vehicle stopped, there was noise outside. Someone opened the door and invited Shadow Dragon to step out.

The moment he stepped out a flurry of noise and activity went off. Lights flashed, people were shouting his name. A forest of little sticks were shoved in front of him as people asked him questions. There was red carpet in front of him and what appeared to be a door at the other end but his way was barred.

"Is this really your life's masterpiece sir?" "Mr. Dragon could you comment on the press announcements you made on Thursday?" "What inspired you to make this film sir?" "Look here, a smile for the camera!"

Most of all, above all the other noise, was the unmistakable high pitched screaming of thousands of female fans.
PostPosted: Wed Sep 17, 2008 9:44 pm

The moment Shadow stepped out of the Limousine, he would have been temporarily blinded, had it not been for his sunglasses. He was a caught off guard and not sure exactly what was going on. He wished that the dreams would allow for a little more prep, but he assumed that was the purpose of the dreams. To see how one reacts when caught off guard like this.

He wasn't sure how to answer the questions. He didn't know if he had to answer all of them, some of them, or if he could get away with none of them. He didn't know what his reputation was, and what his fans expected. Anything he did could be wrong, and he didn't know how that would effect the situation.

This is a lot to take in. I think I should just be myself. Calm, collected and cool. What is my attire? What movie did I make? What event is this? I can give a small smile, and I don't have to please these reporters.

As he analyzed the situation, he grew more comfortable. He decided he would just be himself. He looked at the fans, ignoring the cameras and reporters, and gave them a slight smile. When he did this, his fans cheered, the girls screamed, and he heard a teen say to his budy, "He is so cool. Look at how he walks, and stays calm, even with cameras flashing and reporters boraging him with questions, and mics in his face." He heard another, "I like how he is here for the fans, and how he is ignoring the reporters."

Shadow decided to speak, "I would like to thank all of my fans for joining me for this momentous occasion. I made this film for you, the people, and the fans. I will not talk to the press about anything, Im not here for them. The comments I made on thurday are the only comments the press will get from me at this time. My fans, how can one determine their masterpiece when they have so much life ahead of them. A masterpiece is for the fans to decide when a man leaves this world."

With that, he continued down the soft red carpet, to allow more stars and high class people room to arrive. He did not know why he would be involved in making a movie. He wouldn't have time to make a film. This was such an unfamiliar situation for him. He did his best to give the fans what they wanted, while staying humble and honorable. Those two things are hard in situations like this one.
