She jumped, hearing the voice suddenly beside her. For a moment, it sounded so much like it was her brother talking... She shook her head, snapping out of her dreaming...
"Huh? Oh, hey... Dean? Coy? I'm sorry... I'm terrible with names. The teacher I think always called you Coy... But I've heard others call you Dean..." she said, a small smile on her face as she talked. It's not that she was one of those silent types. On the contrary, before her brother passed away she was a loud mouth. No wonder why her parents wanted him to watch over her all the time... Loud mouths could get in trouble so easily...
"And yeah, it's Serena... I've been moving along," she said. The song Move Along by the All American Rejects suddenly popped up in her head and she felt the strange urge to sing to it, but decided against it. Hah... If only he knew what was going on deep in her thoughts... He might be one of those people who do the whole "cheer-up" act... Or maybe he might sympathize. Either way, she didn't want to talk about the upcoming date of her brother's death anniversary.
Or maybe he already knew about it. Word travelled fast in that school... Friendly conversation, she concluded, was what he was making. She tried to look a bit more cheery, for both their sakes. "How have you been? Good, I would hope," she said... She almost had a slight laugh in her voice, nothing forced, but it felt good, for once, to be talking to someone.

"haha yeah... just call me Dean if you want," he said laughing,"Coy is my real name... but I don't like it much. It's your choice. I don't really care." he said to her. Coy listened to her talk while he looked at her, she was really pretty... but hey he wasn't in the gym to hit on girls, he was there because there was some important assembly that hadn't started yet. "Yeah it's been ok with me," he said responding to her,"Not much goes on in the life of Coy "Dean" Gibson. Well... besides the partying and late night talks that is." he said and smiled to her. "So... do you know what were all doin' here anyways?" he asked her.
Cory looked up, his head was feeling slightly less painful. He looked around and saw a girl not too far away from him and a girl talking to Dean. Getting up from his seat he moved over to sit next to the girl on his right. When he sat back down next to her he leaned back in the chair, crossing his legs and out stretching his arms. She didn't look like she was the talking type she had on jeans, a t-shirt and a sweater from what he could see, but he thought to hell with it he was going to try talking to her anyways. Cause besides Dean and this other girl talking it was too quite for his liking. "Hey." he said to her,"My names Cory, and what might yours be?" he wondered. She had been the first girl in there when he walked in maybe 10-20 minutes ago.

Aiden looked at everyone there then started to rub his tattooed arm again. He started to think of his last moments with his sister. He then felt the urge to cry. So he moved into the corner and started to softly cry.
Rebecca looked over at him and didn't know what to do. So she just sat there and looked around at everyone there. She looked over at boy who was talking to her. She then wrote on her pad of paper 'I'm Rebecca.'

Cory looked as she wrote on the paper, caught a little off guard by it he sat almost dumbfounded. He shook his head and snapped out of it though and read her name. 'rebecca'... he thought to himself. "Cool. Nice too meet you then Rebecca. That's a pretty name for a pretty girl." he said and smiled, letting his natural flirting slip out of his mouth. Crap... he thought to himself. "So... yeah. haha. Sorry about that, I guess I can't help my flirting." Cory, a little embarassed about it, apologized.

Rebecca smiled and blushed softly. Something she hadn't done since her brother was alive. She then wrote on the paper 'hehe it's okay It was kinda nice' She bit her bottom lip softly as if trying to stop herself from saying something.

"aww..." he said seeing her blush. All the sudden his headache seemed to disappear from existance. "oh ok, thats cool then." he said upon reading the paper again. Cory was releaved that she was ok with it. "So... do you know why were here... besides it being for some random assembly?" he asked her. He felt almost as if he might be getting on her nerves with all the questions, but then he figured if he was she'd tell him.

Rebecca just shook her head. 'no idea.' She wrote as she took a rather loud breath, as if she wanted him to hear her voice.

Matthew glanced around, was he the only one who noticed Aiden in the cornor crying, Aiden and Matthew wen't exactly friends but he didn't mind him. He sighed as he got up, sitting next to Aiden he sighed. Gently he tilted Aiden's head up and started at him, sure curiousty to why he was crying, then it hit him, he knew Adiens sister, he'd talk to her once when he was with Aiden for a project. He never really talked much, but when he did it normally ment somethign, coming from his lips at least. He could have been like Rebecca, but words ment so little on papper some times. He sighed as he let go of Aidens chin, parting his dry pale lips to speak. His voice was light and high pitched. "H-h-Hi Aiden.." He whisperd quietly as he brought his knees to his chest and rocked. He pulled a cookie out and offerd it to Aiden, even though he'd bitten it. "I'm s-s-sorry a-b-bout your s-s-s-" he couldn't manage to say the word sister, he didn't know how to make a person stop crying. "I've been holding my breath, so I can choke back my tears, I've been hiding my depression so I wouldn't have to face my fears.." He said quietly. Glancing over to Aiden, he put the cookie on his knee.

"uh huh..." he said as he looked around with his eyes drifting around the room, only to see that another girl had joined them all. Cory looked back over to Rebecca. "yeah... ok well. That all just works." he said with a laugh, he heard her sigh before hand, thinking he was boring her with that he dat back in his chair, ha had been inching forward little by little from getting excited about talking to someone, which really hadn't happened since Samantha's birthday when he had called her up that very same morning. The gym had started to smell a little musky, like the sweat from students past was growing mold in the locker rooms or something like that.

Aiden sniffled softly. "wh-why are you talking to me?" He asked as if he was just mad at the world.
Rebecca smiled softly as she got a little bit closer to him. She nodded. "Uh huh." She said very softly.

"oh heeeeyyy. So were talking to Cory now." he said and smiled. "This is kinda cool." Cory laughed to himself some. He too then scooted a little closer to Rebecca. It felt almost weird to be acting in such way that he was around a girl. Usually, well at least ever since Sam died he always was so closed off and afraid to talk to girls out of fear that that little voice inside his head that sounded like samantha's would pop in and say 'you never loved me... just look at what your doing now... talking to some other girl... some boyfriend you are...'. But his worst fear seemed to linger a little in his mind as he still sat there talking to Rebecca.
Coy sat there seeing that he wasn't being responded to he decided to reiterate his question to Serena. "So... uhhmmm, what'd you say we were doing here again?" he asked her.

Rebecca sighed as she just started to think of how she got close to a guy who ended up killing her brother a small teardrop came out of her eye as she hugged herself. She wiped the tear away quickly, she forced the smile back onto her face.

Cory watched as she sat there silently. He moved his head around, keeping at least one eye on her, so he wouldn't be rude by staring. "You know..." he said turning his head back around to her along with his body this time. "I really do think your one of the prettiest girls I've spoken too in a long while... but when I say a long while i really do mean that. Three years to be exact. But hey.... who's counting?" Cory joked with her.

Serena's eyes had gone blank for the moment... The tension in the gym had gotten to her.. a sort of de-ja-vu-ish feeling had taken over, and it took all her concentration not to fall over in an unconscious state. She snapped out of it from Coy's question... She knew he had said something before...
"So, Dean then, I guess... If you really don't like the name Coy. I think it's cool," she said with a soft smile. She had all but wiped away the feeling of the de ja vu. "It's unique, you know? But, if you prefer Dean, I don't mind... Maybe I'll just swap back and forth between the two, hm?" she asked a small grin on her face as she looked around.
"As for why we're all gathered here... I have no freakin' idea. It's probably something pointless, as always..." she said, sighing and rolling her eyes before looking over at Dean and smiling, almost laughing. "You know, you're one of the first people I've talked to in a while... really..." she said, feeling stupid after saying it. It made her sound anti-social... Wow, I'm an idiot... she thought.

Jen wiggled a little in her chair, she sat very much alone, at least two empty chairs around her at all sides. With out even looking up she could hear crying and words of comfort. It made her sick to her stomach but she only had to get through school then she would be free again. Her eyes wandered to her messenger bag and she pulled out her black book. Flipping to a new page she started to sketch, in elaborate letters. She wrote ‘Taffeta’. It looked girlish and cute, a perfect representation of her love. She worked diligently darkening the lines and adding swishes and sparkles. She had all afternoon to create this one and she wanted it to be perfect. She blocked out the sound of the others and slowly sunk into her own little world. All she could see was the paper and all she could do was create the lines. She had no choice it was what needed to be done.
