"Don't mind if I go in for the kill then?"
He glanced back at Ani with a grin. Tai started to crouch lower and lower into the grass as he neared the prey beasts. Ah, there they were, big and healthy and just about ready to eat. He licked his lips once more and waited for Ani to reach up beside him. By this time, they were about a ten meters away from the wildebeests, though safely hidden from view. He could easily reach them once Ani had begun rounding a couple of them up.
His goal was to bring down a big one so that the female would have a nice dinner this evening.
"Alright, whenever you're ready," he said.

"Not at all..." Ani said with a short nod. It didn't bother her... Really, the tactics of catching the beasts interested her far more than just killing them did.
"Alright..." Ani crouched down and watched them carefully before she moved forward. Big beasts... good... Now she just had to round them up. More running then she generally liked, but she had to eat, and it would be easier than just her attacking them and seeing what happened.
She took off, her powerful legs taking her towards the beasts as she rounded them back towards where Tai was waiting for them. She was ready, now she just hoped that she was too.

Tai gracefully sped forward, his legs moving back and forth powerfully underneath his lightweight torso. Keeping silent, he vaguely watched the rest of the herd panic and run away while Ani was keeping a hold of a couple of giants - impressive for someone her size. He grinned and jerked towards one of them, letting out a vicious snarl before clamping his sharp teeth down onto the neck of the large prey beast.
He held on for a while as the animal bucked and jumped around, trying to loosen the canine's hold, to no avail. Tai kept tight to it, like fleas to an animal. He could just barely taste the blood, though his mouth was full of the thick fur of the animal. Just a few more minutes. Just a few more and he could easily bring it down. A growl erupted from his throat as the animal began to calm, taking wheezing breaths.
'There we go. That wasn't so hard,' the canine thought as the beast finally keeled over. He pressed a paw onto the neck and slowly let go of the dead animal. "Well, your dinner is served, Ani. Dig in," he smacked his lips and took a step back. My my, she had certainly chosen well.

Ani watched him go, suprised and pleased that their catch had been a good one. It was far simpler to hunt together than it was alone. She hadn't remembered before, what it was like to hunt with others. So much easier... so much... better, really. Hunting had been such a lonely experience before.
She drove off the rest of the heard, snapping at their heels to insure that they wouldn't come back. Then she turned and headed back towards Tai, nodding to him as she got back. Ani was impressed, she hadn't known whether or not he would be competant. Turned out he was.
"Excellent," She told him, smelling the blood, which very nearly made her drool. Ani had been so hungry... not that she was willing to admit that just yet. She looked down, examining the beast she had chosen. Just as she had expected... it would certainly be big enough to feed the both of them.
"Would you like to take the first bite?" Ani asked him, tilting her head thoughtfully.

Tai'ruka shook his head, kindly rejecting her offer. He'd already eaten beforehand, and nothing please him more than seeing another eat a well-deserved meal. And Ani more than just deserved it. Considering she was able to round up the prey in her small body, Tai was quite impressed.
Bringing it down was simply his part of the job.
"I appreciate the offer, but no thanks," the male declined, taking a step back to give her some room.
But where had the time gone? The sky was now dark, with the edges of the mountains glowing orange from the hidden sun. Tai'ruka realized it was time to part ways. His tail swished slowly, ears slightly drooping at the idea. But alas, almost everyone came to this point in a meeting. He began to edge away as he saw her shrug lightly and dig in.
As he silently bid Ani farewell, the brown dog whisked away into the darkness.
