"Summer went by so fast, I can't believe its going to be winter again soon." Karma said aloud to seemingly no one as she sat at the top of a grassy hill in the field behind her house. "I hate this time of the year, everything's dying..." she sighed, placing a hand over the slight swell of her belly where the baby within was growing.
"Guess it won't be much better for you...what a way to be welcomed into the world, huh? Freezing cold weather and everything is dead and buried in snow." The foxcoon wasn't quite sure when it was she'd begun talking to the child within her, but she found it soothing and decided it was probably best to do all of her talking now. Once the baby was born, she could pretty much forget about having a captive audience for her ramblings.
"I'll find a way to make it up to you. I'll buy some potted plants or something." She vented a long sigh through her nose and watched as a crisp autumn breeze tumbled a few fallen leaves past her. Some were the brilliant reds and yellows of a fire, while others had simply withered away to brown.
Selecting a broad red maple leaf, she twirled it between her fingers bemusedly and recalled the smoky crisp smell of the neighbors who had always burned their leaves after raking them when she was a little girl.
"I guess it won't be all bad....you can watch me carve the Jack-O-Lantern this year. How about that?" she smiled faintly, moving to get up. Dinner wasn't going to start itself and she would be damned before she let one of the boys cook again. Last time she'd let Kendall and Arkie into the kitchen, it had been a disaster. She STILL hadn't gotten all of the pancake mix off of the ceiling.
As she arched her back in a vain attempt to pop it, another breeze whispered past, bringing with it more leaves. Most rustled against one another or tumbled past her feet harmlessly, but one, caught by an updraft, lazily somersaulted on the air a single time before adhereing itself to her face.
"AGH!" she choked, batting blindly at the air before recovering from her shock and reaching up to pluck the leaf from where it was clinging to the bridge of her muzzle.
The first thing to strike Karma about the bit of spade-shaped foliage was that, unlike the other leaves, this one had remained a vibrant green color somehow. Casting a quick look about the field, she couldn't see where the leaf might have come from either. The trees were all either bare or in the process of shedding the last of their leaves. This one looked freshly-plucked from a midsummer's bough.
Huh...how weird.
Absently, not really thinking about it, she tucked it into the pocket of her kimono as she began back toward the house, not to think of it again until later that evening.

Dinner had been eaten and cleared, the dishes had been washed, and the younger kids were in bed. That meant it was time for the adults and older kids to retire to their respective corners of the house to unwind for the evening and Karma was no exception. After ensuring that Arkie was non-destructively watching a movie on TV, she retired to her bedroom to get undressed for the night.
Rrgh...what had she been thinking, getting pregnant this late in the year? The nighttime drafts did nothing to help her aches and cramps. It was to the point that she'd taken to sleeping with a heating pad on its lowest setting just to ensure she got a decent night's rest.
A tiny flutter of movement from her belly made her wince as she unshouldered her kimono. "C'mon, don't start...let me get at least a few hours before you start tapdancing on my bladder, okay...?" she groaned.
As she struggled out of the left sleeve, a hint of movement caught her eye and she turned just in time to see the green leaf she'd recovered from the field earlier fluttering to the bedroom carpet. Oh yeah....she'd forgotten all about it.
Come to think of it, she wasn't even sure why she'd brought it inside in the first place....
Stooping to pick it up, she seated herself heavily on the edge of the bed with an exhausted whuff, turning the leaf slowly over in her fingertips and watching the light from the lamp play over its network of veins and its broad green stem. If nothing else, it was nice to be reminded of warmer months, she supposed. Too bad that it was going to wither up and dry out by tomorrow morning.
Well, maybe not.... she thought, rising from where she sat to pad into the bathroom. A moment later, she returned with the leaf in one hand and a dixie cup half-filled with water in the other. Placing the cup on the nightstand, she then moved to settle the leaf's stem inside of it.
The reaction was immediate and startling as the leaf seemed to bodily jolt itself out of the cup and flutter to the floor in disarray. Karma blinked at it, puzzled. How had it---no. No, her hand must have just slipped. Scooping the leaf up once more, she repeated her attempt only to be met with the same results.
The leaf....was JUMPING....out of the cup. As much as she didn't care to settle for that conclusion, that was certainly what looked to be happening.
LOOKS to be happening she chided herself. It doesn't mean that's most definitely what's happening. Maybe you need some sleep/
Maybe so...
Casting a wary look at the leaf that sat on the floor once again, she hesitantly reached out and picked it up, gently placing it flat on the nightstand where she watched it closely for a long moment.
Nothing. Not even a twitch.
Happy now? Can the world start turning again? Sighing at herself for being a spaz, Karma pulled back the covers and, disrobing the rest of the way, climbed beneath them, reaching out to click off the lamp.
In the darkness, where she couldn't see it, the leaf remained dormant for only a few moments more before beginning to vibrate, as though it was attempting, without success, to lift off of the nightstand. At length, thwarted by the fact that leaves are far from being aerodynamic, the bit of greenery settled itself and fell still once more, seeming to emit a slight aura of frantic futility.
What a day...

Dear Diary,
Maybe I'm working too hard.
Working on WHAT, I don't know, but I think its time to give yourself a little slack when you actually have to stop and wonder for a moment if its possible for leaves to live independantly of their tree.
Maybe writing it down will help it make more sense, but I doubt it. I found this leaf yesterday while I was out in the field behind the house. It struck me as really odd that it would stay green while all of the others have turned for the autumn.
But hey, what do I know, right? maybe it broke off of somebody's houseplant and blew out the window or something. I'd like to think that, because then it would all be explained away and I could laugh off my paranoia and get on with my life.
I can't do that, though, and you want to know why? Because as I write this, I am staring at a leaf that is twitching and turning over all by itself in the pencil cup (I put it there to keep it from falling on the floor). Its not due to there being a draft, because I double-checked and the bedroom windows are both shut. Its not because I'm breathing on it, either...we're not talking slight gliding or rustling here, this thing looks like its trying to teach itself to dance or crawl out of its own skin.
Last night, I tried to put it in a cup of water to keep it from wilting and it jumped out. Literally jumped. And I woke up this morning to find it halfway across the carpet, vibrating itself in little circles.
Its eerie...or would be eerie if the concept of a haunted leaf was frightening in the least. Maybe its parasites or something...? Kind of like mexican jumping bean larvae. I have no clue what would fit in a leaf, though. Mites, maybe, but those would have to be some damn strong mites to give a leaf that kind of locomotion.
I'll keep watching it, I think. Its giving me something interesting to do besides count down the weeks until this baby is born

"Why are you keeping that thing in the house?" Talon demanded sourly, regarding the twitching leaf with distaste as he opened the fridge to retrieve the apple juice.
"Why not?" Karma shrugged from where she sat at the table, the leaf in a plastic (and empty) cup in front of her as she read over that day's funny pages.
"Its not natural, for one. What if something hatches out of it?"
"Like WHAT, Talon? What's small enough that it can live in a leaf without making any furrows or tears or anything AND make it boogie around like that?"
"Wasps, maybe. They live in caterpillars and nobody knows until they burrow out."
"Caterpillars are a lot fatter than leaves are." she sighed, shaking away the mental image of a big fat bumbling wasp burrowing its way out of the leaf to crawl clumsily around in the bottom of the cup until its wings dried. "*I* think it might be something neat."
"Need I remind you that you thought being a fa'e guardian would be 'neat' too and you ended up with that green hellion?" Talon growled, uncapping the jug and moving to get a glass out of the cupboard.
"Yeah, well, kids are a big undertaking. You, of all people, should know that. Look at Zhane and Phaerna, for crying out loud. THIS is just a leaf."
"Mmn." he muttered non-committally as he poured himself some juice.
"A leaf that I think I might hang onto for awhile. If even out of just morbid curiousity to see how long it keeps doing this."
"If I had spidey senses, they'd be tingling and informing me that this is all going to end in tears."
"Talon, that's nothing new for you." she retorted. "You said the same thing when I bought new furniture for the living room."
"Dave dropped the couch on his foot." he pointed out.
"That's hardly 'ending in tears'." Karma replied, rolling her eyes. "The leaf jitters around and I think its interesting. It doesn't bother anybody and it stays in its cup. Short of maybe the leaf escaping and going off to hide somewhere in the house where we won't find it until next spring, I really don't see how this could turn out badly."
"I HATE it when you say that." Talon snapped. "It makes my scales stand on-end because something always DOES turn out badly."
"I have a splendid idea....how about 'this is my house and I'll deal with things as they happen'? You're moving out anyway, or so you say, so I don't know why this is a big deal to you."
"I AM moving out." he grumped. "As soon as I find a place I like and run it past Yeande. And its a big deal to me because I have to live here in the meantime and I don't especially want to be dragged out of bed at three in the morning because there's a bug infestation in the living room."
"A LEAF, Talon....its just a leaf." she reiterated.
"NOW its just a leaf, who knows what it'll be come tomorrow?" he said, throwing up the hand that wasn't holding the glass of juice in agitation as he left the kitchen. Karma watched him go with narrowed eyes and a twitching tail before looking back to the leaf in the cup. It was still for a moment and then resumed its short little jaunts around the bottom.
It was just Talon, and he was just being paranoid, she assured herself. It was, after all, JUST a leaf.

Dear Diary,
Not much to update you on. The leaf is still being a leaf...a very ACTIVE leaf, granted, but still a leaf.
I'm starting to come to terms with the idea that its not a parasite infestation that's making it do this. I mean, if it was, wouldn't it start to brown or wither, or maybe you'd hear little crackles of things crawling around and eating it? You don't hear any of that when you listen, to it, but you DO hear this strange sort of faint humming.
It sounds almost like something tiny beating its wings very fast.
I tried holding it up to the light today to see if maybe I could illuminate anything inside of it, but no dice. The leaf, if anything, seemed to stop moving entirely for awhile and didn't start again until I'd put it back in its cup. Maybe it doesn't like the light? Or maybe it DOES like the light and was basking in it and the reason its jittering around so much is because its trying to get back to it.
How the hell am I supposed to tell with a leaf?

Tyyne hummed a song as she moved through the streets looking for the right address. Actually she had been pretty disappointed because she wanted to go swimming, but Lena had told her that delivering the flowerpot and everything was more important. 'You're already sooo good at it...' Haha, she had seen that her mother was in trouble with the strange Aduthule pair... Anyway the Eden girl was pulling a small wagon with a bright orange flowerpot as she stopped in front of a house. "Here we go." She told herself as she put the heavy container, a pack of soil and a letter down before the door. Turning around quickly she moved off hoping that it wouldn't be too late for her lessons.A letter from Eden
Dear Karma,
Please don't freak out this isn't blackmail or anything related. I'm the manager of an institution called 'Eden Project' and I've been informed that you found one of our leaves a few days ago. Actually the leaf doesn't really belong to us, but to you now. You might have noticed that it's different and there's a good reason for this : It will grow into a child ! Yes...I bet this sounds pretty absurd, but feel free to visit our project's house near Barton Town and I'll show you pictures and living examples of the Edens. All of them carry the attributes of an animal or a plant. Sadly we aren't able to inform you yet, what your leaf is about, but probably you already made experiences with it's behaviour. I sent you a flowerpot and some fertile soil along, because we experienced that planting the little fellow helps it to store energy and to grow. If you still have questions or just want to talk : We'll be happy to see you at the project.
Have a nice day
~Lena [ Please roleplay the planting scene to make your leaf develop ]

"Isn't it a little late in the year to start gardening?"
"Hmm?" Karma asked, looking up from where she was in the process of cleaning up the cereal that Zhane had just dumped all over the carpet.
"This was on the porch for you." Dave informed her, setting the large orange pot down on the coffee table with a faint thunk." The foxcoon stopped in mid-grab for some oat bits and looked at it curiously, blinking.
"Don't look at me, *I* didn't order it..." she informed him, putting up her hands defensively.
"It came with a note, it looks like." her husband offered, plucking the slightly-dusty envelope out of the bed of soil and examining the unfamiliar handwriting that his wife's name was written in.
"Give." Karma said, extending her hand and opening and closing her fingers repeatedly until Dave relented and placed the envelope in her clutches. It was promptly torn open as her eyes scanned the enclosed letter in silence for several moments.
"....huh." was her final assessment, one ear wilting absently off to the side in utter befuddlement.
"What?" Dave asked.
"Its uhm....its about the leaf." she said, clearing her throat. "Apparantly these people knew it was here somehow."
"So what is this? Some weird attempt at a ransom negotiation? Your leaf for their pot?"
"No...its....heh, I don't know if this is some sort of prank or not." she supposed it might be. It WAS the right time of year for it. It says I should plant it and it'll grow into a child."
Dave's expression instantly fell.
"I thought we discussed this..." he said quietly.
"Its not like I planned this." she shot back. "You said no more going out and adopting kids, and I didn't. I brought a leaf home and didn't even know what it was. That's not the same thing."
"Yeah, but--" he began to protest.
"Its probably just some sort of joke. This happens every year in Gaia." she interrupted. "Halloween arrives and somebody thinks they're funny and starts a rumor or a gimmick of some sort. Last year it was warning letters about pumpkins having imported spiders in them so lots of people forewent having a Jack O'Lantern. This year its leaf kids. Who knows?"
Dave didn't seem convinced as he quirked a brow at her and crossed his arms over his chest. He clearly didn't much care for the idea that they'd agreed to one last baby and another was already working its way into the mix.
"Look, I'll tell you what we're going to do...." Karma said, getting up from where she knelt on the floor and brushing lint from her knees. "I'm going to plant this thing, and its going to sit there, and nothing's going to happen, all right? It'll probably just die or something. And then after Halloween is over, we can look back on this and laugh about how dumb it all was. How's that?"
"And if something DOES happen, what then?" he pried.
"Then---Then we'll deal with it, I guess." she said, throwing her hands up. "I don't know what you want from me, Dave. It isn't like--"
"--you planned it, I know." he finished for her, nodding.
"Exactly!"
He heaved a long sigh, trying to temper his annoyance. Being married to Karma had made him a master of patience with all that they'd put up with over the years. The continual fostering of children, doubly so...and it wasn't that he hated kids. Not really. He just wanted to reach a point where he was done with babies, that was all.
"All right." he relented. "Go ahead and plant your leaf and you're probably right, its probably nothing..."
She nodded in agreement, glad he was seeing reason. She waited until he had left before examining the pot a bit more closely, reaching down to touch the cool, damp dirt within it and read over the note once more.
Could that really be it, she wondered? Was the leaf jittering and twitching because a child was attempting to get out of it? Was it going to resent her for making it stay in a cup the last couple of days...? Would it remember the water incident? ...and really, what if this WAS all just some sort of prank?
Ugh, too many questions.
Well, there was one surefire way to answer the last question, at least. And she would go about it at once.
....right after she finished cleaning up Zhane's alpha bits massacre.

"Aaaand, there." Karma said, adjusting the leaf a bit so that it wasn't completely submerged in the soil. Its stem and a bit of its lower half protruded from the rich brownness, vibrating like an absurdly-wagging tail. It was hard to tell if it was trying to get out or burrow further in.
"I'd like it to go on the record as being said that this is one of your most ridiculous plans to date." Talon muttered sourly from where he was attempting to feed Phaerna a jar of strained peaches at the kitchen table.
"Fair enough. We can pencil it in somewhere underneath you and Yeande having children on the list of 'Worst Ideas Ever'." she retorted, watching the leaf raptly as it adjusted to its new home. its spastic movements slowly calmed to an occasional wriggle or twitch as it grew accustomed to the new environment and seemed to go into a phase of rest.
Talon glared at her but said nothing for the moment as he focused on his adopted daughter in her high chair.
"I guess now we just....wait."
"You could always just cut to the chase and put it out for the garbage NOW..." he suggested under his breath.
"Talon, shush...I don't get why you guys are all so threatened by a leaf."
"I'm not threatened." he grumbled. "You've been obsessing over that damn thing for the last two days and I'm making sure that you know how ridiculous it is."
Rolling her eyes, Karma gathered up the potted leaf with a faint grunt and carried it out of the kitchen.
"NOW where are you going with it?"
"I'm going to go put it on my desk." she called over her shoulder. "If it IS a kid, I don't want it to end up with an inferiority complex because you idiots can't stop making jabs at it!"
"Inferiority complex...right." he snorted as she left, spooning up more peaches to give to Phaerna. Suddenly he paused.
Wait....had she just said 'kid'?

Dear Diary,
I feel strangely accomplished. Today a large pot and a letter arrived on my doorstep from someone named Lena. I don't know how, exactly, but somehow she knew I had the leaf here with me. She SAID it wasn't blackmail, so....I dunno. She said my leaf was something known as an Eden AKA a child that grows from a leaf. I'm not sure how much stock I put into that, but I guess we'll see. Its about all we can do right now.
I did what the letter told me and planted the leaf in the provided soil. Not all of the way because...I don't know, exactly. It just didn't feel right burying it all of the way. As I write this, the pot is sitting on the corner of the desk and the leaf occasionally wiggles a little, but its not jittering as much as it was when I found it.
Another thing seems to have changed...this thing needs water about every hour. The dirt was cool and moist when the pot arrived and after the leaf was planted, it was bone dry about two hours later. Since it didn't seem to like being in immediate contact with the water when I tried to put it in the dixie cup its first night here, I've been watering around the edges instead of directly onto it. That seems to work.
Still, that's a lot of water for one little leaf. Its leading me to believe more and more that there's less malarky to this story than I'd thought at first...

"Right. That's it. You've officially gone off the deep end."
"Wha-at...?" Karma whined, ears drooping as she looked up at Dave while arranging the snowglobes around the pot.
"First you bring home a sentient leaf, then you get a weird stalkerly letter telling you its a kid so you plant it in the pot they gave you. Now you're DECORATING for it?"
"It looked bored." she responded with a shrug.
"How does a leaf look bored?" he challenged.
"It just...I don't know, it looked bored!" Karma said. "It was all sulky and it wasn't moving much."
If that had, indeed, been the problem, the introduction of the new toys had remedied it. The leaf was quivering and leaning as far as its half-submerged position would allow toward the globe containing the gently-glowing lights that were meant to represent fireflies.
"It seems to me that you've already decided this isn't a joke of some sort..." Dave sighed, shaking his head.
"No! Yes....maybe." she faltered. "Look, I just don't want to be caught offguard. I'd rather have gotten my hopes up over nothing than to assume its nothing and be wrong, you know?"
"Oh I know." he nodded, crossing the room to the bathroom and examining his reflection in the mirror before picking up his toothbrush and rinsing it under the tap. "So what did you name it?"
"I'm not sure yet. I'm trying to figure out what it likes before--"
"AHA!" Dave interrupted, whirling on his heel to point accusingly with a thin smile. "How can you NOT be convinced its going to become a kid if you're naming it?"
"Dave, that doesn't mean anything. YOU name your animal crackers before you eat them."
"Lots of people do that." he argued, turning back to the mirror.
"Yeah, but lots of people don't also make the animals cry out in little voices to please not eat them." she muttered, turning back to the leaf. It seemed to have fallen into a state of tranquil fascination, its stem billowing in time with the hypnotic swirling patterns of the snowglobe fireflies. She was unable to suppress a smile.
"Well, either way, I just want you to know that whatever comes out of that thing, YOU are in charge of.
"I kind of figured." she muttered. "Its not like I'm not already in charge of all the kids in the house anyway."
"I'm just making sure you know." Dave replied, squeezing toothpaste onto his brush. "I volunteered for early-morning feedings and diaper changes one last time for our little passenger. Not for a leaf."
"Dave, I get it, okay? You're pissed because the 'no more kids' rule has already been broken and I'm keeping the leaf. I'll deal with it. I already told you that. Can we drop it now, please?"
"I suppose so." he nodded, stuffing the toothbrush into his mouth and beginning to scrub. Satisfied that he was done, Karma turned her attention back to the leaf, watching it in bemused fascination. What kind of kid was in there, she wondered? Hopefully not another Arkie....or another Talonfaust, for that matter.
It occurred to her she still didn't even know what an Eden WAS....were they like pod people or something? Maybe he or she would assimilate the entire household.
"You wouldn't do that, would you...?" she said softly, extending the pad of one finger to gently trace the outer portion of the leaf. It vibrated gently under her touch and that was all. Who could tell with leaves?
Casting a quick look at the desk clock, she realized it was time for the pot's hourly watering and heaved herself up to go retrieve the small watering can that was still sitting on the edge of the kitchen sink.

"You know, you really DO need a name." Karma concluded aloud, readjusting the snowglobes a bit. "It would help if you'd give me some sort of hint about what you were, though..."
The leaf curled in on itself a bit.
"So what do we know about you...?" she went on. "You don't like water, you hardly ever stop jittering, you freeze up at bright lights, and you like it when things are dark, or at least dim." That still didn't tell her much. "I'll take a blind stab and say you're nocturnal."
The leaf vibrated a bit.
Karma began to wonder if maybe she should go seek out this Lena and bring her the leaf. Maybe SHE could tell what it was going to become. While out and about on her errands, she HAD located the Eden Project building, but the windows had been darkened and the door locked with a note explaining that the staff was currently caught up with halloween festivities and would return shortly.
Too bad there were no pamphlets or anything. She still had no clue what she was in for. Did they turn into animals? Humans? Plants? Bugs? Did the leaf just get bigger and turn itself into a baby? Her mind tried to wrap itself around a large sentient leaf running around and she nearly went crosseyed.
"How about we look up some night-themed names, would you like that?" she inquired, turning to the computer and wiggling the mouse to get rid of the screensaver.
The leaf shrank back from the glow of the monitor.
Oblivious, Karma typed away at her keyboard, bringing up a search engine and entering in "names meaning night". The results were many and came back quickly as she began to sift through the sites.
"How about Luna?"
The leaf twisted slightly to the right, seeming uncomfortable.
"No? What about Dusk, then?"
The leaf twisted slightly the other way, not looking much better.
"Cosmo?"
There was a rasping rattle from the pot as the stem vibrated itself against the rim angrily.
"Okay, okay, not Cosmo..." she chuckled. "Hmm...."
For the next half hour or so, she read off names for the leaf in a variety of languages and contexts and, one by one, the leaf rejected them all. When she ran out of proper names, she began to deviate from parental sites over to scientific sites.
"Oh here's a nice one, how about Saturnidae?"
When she saw no visible reaction from the leaf she turned to see that it had flattened itself against the soil and was not moving. Resignation, perhaps? "I think it sounds pretty classy." she went on. "And we could call you Dae for short. What do you think?"
There was still no movement.
"You okay?"
The leaf twitched, giving a noise that sounded not unlike a raspberry. Karma snickered.
"Let's go with Saturnidae, then."

Dear Diary,
Another day, another milestone. We've decided on a name for the leaf...or I have, rather. I've decided its name is going to be Saturnidae. Its a little nerdy-sounding, I know, but I guess if taken in the right context, it could also be majestic as well.
I mean, have YOU ever heard of a hero named "Bob"?
I gave the leaf a closer examination tonight while watering it and it looks like its sent out strange little roots into the soil. I guess that solves the mystery of how its been using up the water I've been giving it so quickly...
Well, one thing's for sure. It officially has my undivided attention between chores and getting ready for the baby to be born. I'm not quite sure if its time to start getting a room ready just yet, though.
....for that matter where WOULD I get a room ready? The last space available is the attic. I guess that would work, but we'd need to install some central heating up there...
I suppose we'll cross that bridge when we come to it. I've still got a lot of time to screw things up, after all...I hate to think pessimistically, but it seems to be a running trend with me.

Dear Diary,
Dae and I have spent the last few days getting better acquainted. Its actually really funny how theraputic talking to a leaf can be...I'm starting to understand that batty old lady next door who talks to her flowers while she's outside watering them.
I've kept Dae's pot on my desk while I browse the internet and we have conversations...well, if you count a conversation as being "I talk and he rattles his stem on the rim of the pot now and then". I make sure to keep him far enough backward that the glare of the monitor doesn't disturb him.
Yes 'he'. Not to be inflicting roles on such a tender little leaf, but it drives me nuts not having a proper title to call something by. So, untile proven otherwise, Dae shall be known as a 'he'. Now watch the most feminine little girl ever be spawned from this leaf and make me look like a raving loon.
A little spattering of green moss seems to be springing up directly around where he's been planted, so I assuming he's thriving fairly well on water. I've been tempted to try plant food, but until he starts showing deficiencies or anything, I don't think I should push it. Especially if he's not supposed to be an actual plant.
In other news, it would appear the Halloween festivities are over, or nearly so. I passed by the Eden Project headquarters again today while I was out running errands and the lights were on inside. On the front window, someone had taped up a banner congratulating Sayuri, Raife, and Ruka-Kins. I've seen Sayuri's name about the Fa'e HQ and Raife and I used to talk frequently way back when.
I'm wondering what they're being congratulated about....perhaps they've gotten leaves too? I wanted badly to stop in, but I was already running behind. Maybe another day when I'm not frantically trying to get baby shopping done.
There aren't enough hours in the day sometimes...

Growth Prompt
Wait a moment...isn't there something strange about Saturnidae ? The leaf's tip seems pretty white and as you step closer it doesn't stop vibrating. The pot is shaking quite well too. What's going on ?

"Well, I'm off to bed, Dae..." Karma said, moving to get up from the computer desk as she turned off the monitor. "You behave yourself and don't make too much noise, and--" she trailed off as she noted that something was...amiss. She had become used to Dae's occasional buzzings and twitchings, but...
"Dae...?" she asked, leaning in closer to the pot. The tip of the leaf had turned a white color and her ears perked at the sound of crockery vibrating against the wood of the desk in a low rumble. "Dae??" she said again, a bit alarmed that she was getting no response. Just the rumbling hum of the pot.
Had she done something wrong, she wondered? Blinking, she reached out for the pot to lift it off of the desk, unsure of what else to do. Damn it, why hadn't she thought to get Lena's number while at the Eden halloween party??
