Kishan was about to reply with a Yes us. but she had begun to dance. Kishan bowed as her steps started, and watched for a moment. Her paws slid over the earth seeming effortlessly. Slowly, Kishan started moving with her. Her movements seemed to go in a sort of pattern with the speed, but her steps still caught him by surprise as he tried to match her. Soon he developed counter steps that complimented her spins and twirls. When she stepped left, he went right.
Their twirling and gliding was still visible even as the last faint hints of the sunlight vanished from the sky. The moon had yet to rise, but the stars were light enough. Kishan added another dimension to the dance as he leaped over Nova to land on her other side and kept his dancing.

At first, Nova hadn't even noticed that her dance partner had joined her, she was so lost in her own little world. The dance was everything and it was only when they brushed past one another, their tails briefly looping in the passing, that she remembered the other 'dancer.' She let out a happy bark and a giggle, throwing herself back into the dance as the whirling Helixes welcomed the night and stars in their own fashion.
As Kishan leapt, Nova dropped, rolling in the opposite direction of his leap and catching a brief view of the dimly-twinkling stars in the sky before regaining her paws with a grin. 'Welcome, dear friends,' she murmured breathlessly, never stopping her dance.
'We started the dance early. Hope you don't mind...but you're free to join in anytime...'

Kishan was pleased to hear her happy barks, and raised his face to the sky to let out a howl. As he looked up, he noticed a stat streaking across the sky and stopped dancing for a moment, and closed his eyes. wish on a shooting star he had always done it. I wish for Nova to find her star Something to make her happy, right? And slowly his paws started moving again. He sidestepped and twirled around Nova once more, bowing to her again when they were facing each other. He hadn't realized how quickly his tail was moving during this dance.

Nova missed his momentary pause, rearing back in pure joy and spinning on only her hind legs. Before she risked losing her balance, she dropped back to all-fours, returning the male's bow with her own. The stars above were shining brightly by now, the two Helixes were likely tired, if Nova was any indication of their energy level, and it seemed fitting that the dance end with a bow, as that was how it had begun.
Panting slightly, Nova laughed and dropped to her haunches for a brief rest. Even tired, she oddly felt energetic at the same time and had to stifle the pup-like urge to pounce her new friend good-naturedly. However, something had just occurred to her...she didn't even know her new friend's name!
'You dance well, my good sir,' she smiled, tail still wagging. 'Might I trouble my dance partner for his name?' Then, almost like a last thought, she added, 'I'm Nova.'

"Nova... A very lovely name. I'm Kishan." He debated a moment then sat beside her. "You dance divinely. Or should I say heavenly?" He smiled. The night was still young, and he was having fun with his new friend. The evening couldn't end just yet.

Nova laughed and in what she meant as a casual, relaxed gesture, leaned her head on her new friend's shoulder. The male was larger than her, so the height was comfortable. She was tired and though her energy would return, it felt nice just to rest for now.
'Why, thank you, kind sir. Though, I'd say I'd need to reach the sky itself before I could call my dancing 'heavenly.' Still, I do my best to please the stars with my welcome. With enough practice, maybe one day I'll be ready to dance with them in their own domain.'

"Just don't go there without me." He replied and glanced sideways at her as she rested against him. His young mind flashing a thought that would make him blush under his fur. He looked back up at the sky. "I wonder... Do the Gods get to dance with the stars?" The notion made him a little jealous. And then he began to wonder about the Gods. "Maybe the brightest stars are the ones that belong to the gods..." He thought about his own, dim little star. Kishan knew he wasn't that important. Maybe his star was so dim because it, like him, was lesser among the other stars.

'I wouldn't leave my dance partner behind,' she shot back, chuckling. She was still in a happy mood from their earlier dance, and yet, she faltered, sensing the change of mood in her friend. A slight frown crossed her muzzle, and she shifted, leaning back to look at his face.
'I don't know,' she answered honestly. What did she know of the Gods' business? Still, she had her own thoughts. 'But why would their stars be different? Yes, they might be different from us...but that doesn't make them necessarily better. Why would their stars be brighter than ours?' Her tail curled around her paws and she cast her gaze up towards the stars again, passively still looking for her own star. 'Each star is different, just like each Helix is different. Doesn't make any one better than any other one. Plus, look how they twinkle. The stars glow and dim...we don't know why, but maybe it's caused by events in the heavens. Maybe each star takes a turn being the brightest in the sky at some point. If they stayed bright all the time...who's to say they wouldn't burn out?'

He hadn't ever thought of it like that. He looked back into her eyes, seeing the stars reflected in the dark globes. "You're right. I'll bet that they are all very very important stars. I just thought... I mean, because... well..." His shoulders drooped. He didn't really know why he thought that. "Your star must be very bright."

Nova was still staring upward as she smiled and answered, 'If it was, maybe it wouldn't be quite so elusive and hard to find.'
Then, she smiled back at him to respond to what he'd said earlier. 'I don't know why you thought that, but since we're in the action of talking things through here...' She paused, winking briefly. '...just maybe you don't have everything quite figured out yet, hmm?'
With that, she nuzzled back comfortably against his shoulder, her eyes back on the sky. She felt she'd found someone that understood her and she felt completely comfortable around him. Nothing more than that. 'Cheer up,' she murmured kindly. 'Perhaps together we can unravel the mysteries that we couldn't solve on our own. We've covered much tonight on the stars alone. I'm sure with time we'll have them all figured out.'

"I know I still have a lot to learn. I'm always open to hearing what others have to say." He smiled. "I'm glad I met you this evening." He took a deep breath, smelling the night air. "Perhaps your star is shy. Or we're looking in the wrong part of the sky. What ever the reason, some day, you'll find it. I know you will."
Kishan thought for a while more. Mysteries. Yes! With her, everything should become clear. She was easy to talk to and wise, and seemed quite well grounded with her ideas and opinions.

'I'm glad we met too. The leaves weren't very talkative companions this evening,' she shot back with a smile, still leaning on his shoulder.
After a while, she dropped her eyes from the sky. 'Well, I suppose as long as my star knows where I am, I can wait a bit to find it in return. It can still watch over me, even if I can't return the favor just yet.' She glanced back at him. 'Meanwhile, we've pondered life, as well as the stars, and welcomed them with a dance. What else do we do to pass the evening?'

Kishan's body went ridged again when she asked that. stupid foolish... he gave a fake cough. "Ah, well... There's always taking a walk, or going for a hunt, or just relaxing..." He tried to smile, but it came out a goofy grin.
"Do you think that if there are no new souls for a star to watch over, that the stars return to earth as a new life?" He asked suddenly. Was that what shooting stars are?

Following his unspoken thoughts for once, Nova tilted her head at Kishan curiously. 'Shooting stars? Do you think? It would make things a complete circle,' she nodded excitedly, grinning. 'The stars watch over us, then when we're gone, we join the stars...then when no one is left to watch over, the stars take their turn again down here, being watched over by the rest?'
The thought was staggering...especially for poor Nova. She was having trouble keeping the entire concept in her head at the moment.
'So, wait...' she paused, frowning. 'Does that mean that the meaning of life is the cycle, always waiting to take one's place wherever they are not?'
