The state: an instrument of the ruling class used to better protect it's ill gotten gains. It has the authority to make laws, to adjudicate disputes, and to issue administrative decisions, and with a monopoly of authorized force where it fails to persuade. As of now the current governments of the world are Oligarchic with server plutocratic tendencies. Although most governments claim to be democratic, this is not only false but also impossible. As slaves cannot rule themselves, and all governments were formed by wealthy interests to oppress the working class. The illusion of choice by voting is the same illusion of competition in the current state market, in that while different choices may be given all choices will result in further oppression. Most attempts to reform the state into an instrument of benevolence have either failed outright of have only been meet with partial success, as it is not in the workers intrest to have a less abusive system of governance that makes capitalism bearable, but rather to overthrow the ruling class by a revolution.
