"I think that's a wonderful idea," Delilah answered smoothly. "It'll definitely keep the other kids awake. Better than us droning on about this habitat and that poacher." She glanced down at her notes. "I wonder if we shouldn't see if we can't find some really... graphic images about poaching and such."

She jumped eagerly in on the next idea, "Ohh, if we do find some, we should blow 'em up and put 'em on poster board, like my brothers do with maps and stuff. The bigger the better right?" Their poor class mates...it looked like they were going to be blasted with giant gorey pictures and a live fanged leopard for their presentation.

"Of course." Delilah smiled again at Riley and, if the other girl had been paying any kind of attention, she might have worried at the extreme sweetness of it. "I think it's important to let everyone know what we're doing. I can't imagine they'd like it if a cheetah came into their homes and shot them." She touched her chin and tilted her head a bit. "Though I suppose a cheetah is more likely to eat someone than shoot them. No thumbs."

Riley's rate-of-paying-attention was usually very low, at least with strangers. She didn't know Del well enough to find anything strange in her behavior. She might privately muse about how strange the sweetness was later, but she'd usually just pin it as Delilah was just stranage like that. Picking up personal truths about others was something she did only on rare occasions.
But she was paying attention to the conversation at least. "I thought we were doing leopards," Riley objected attentively.

Delilah started at this correction and then laughed; the sound was almost musical while remaining low. "You're right," she agreed. "I was thinking of another book I had been reading. Leopards." She tilted her head. "Do you think your brothers could actually get one for us?"

"We have to look into getting it ourselves by the sound of it...but if we get stuck I'll just call Liam again. He always has good ideas. There's nothing we can't do if we try hard enough, right?" She grinned widely, that typical stubborn spark in her eye again. When she was set on doing something, no matter how odd...well, she did it. That didn't meant she succeeded, necessarily, but...she certainly gave it her all.

"Of course." Delilah's calm returned and she smiled serenely but there was encouragement in her gaze. "I'm sure, between the two of us, we can give a report that no one would be able to forget." Eyes still on the other girl, she reached up to readjust the flower behind her ear. She looked thoughtful, though, in the following silence. Then, suddenly, she winked, a most unusual response from her. "I have an idea. Let's ditch the library and go to the zoo."
