Iris had not entered the glen under any reason that dealt with the other Herla currently. His attention preoccupied with a particular white butterfly (moth) that had distracted him from a mild slumber not a moment ago. As pretty as the butterfly (moth) was, he couldn't help his glee at finding one in such a similar shade as his own coat.

Trotting after it, by chance the butterfly (moth) happened upon the glen that had so many Herla gathered already. Ignorant of the activities taking place, Iris continue trotting after the butterfly (*sigh* moth) until he did take notice of the fairly crowded glen. Blinking he stopped in his tracks turning in a full circle before a bright smile etched his features. "Hihi!" He called to no single Herla though he quickly trotted over to the shade of a tree that was currently occupied by Rook. "Oh um hello... do you know what's going on?" He asked taking another look around his tail flicking at the butterfly (damnit MOTH) which landed on his hind quarters.

Rook's attention had been turned towards the group that was already assembled, ears twitching and alert to hear anything that might hint at what information had already been given out. He didn't want to be last to know anything that could be relevant, after all... He hardly noticed when a pure white moth fluttered briefly across his field of visionb before returning in the direction it came from.

But he did turn when a voice came from the direction of the Herla said moth had landed on. Rook sidestepped politely to give Iris some room to stand, if he liked. "I'm not entirely sure, myself," he responded softly, turquoise eyes regarding the pearl of the Herla thoughtfully. "All I heard is that the winter stockings have all vanished -- presumably stolen." He frowned. "Though who or what would want to go around stealing stockings..."

In the back of the glen, hidden behind Charlotte and Rolan, the timid Crown Prince Tristam stood still in the shadow of his favorite birch tree. 'So many,' he thought, looking out over the crowd with eyes of pale pink. Those eyes picked up more than just his people. Above each and every one there was that misty smudge, the ghostly glow of a guardian, doing what guardians did. He didn't care what they did, and he didn't care to bother them.

Blinking mildly, he shook his head and stepped next to Rolan, his gaze locking onto his Royal Aunt's favorite adviser. For a moment he ignored his cousin, wondering how Rolan's limp was doing in this cold. It came and went, but he knew the chill didn't help. He gave Rolan a smile, hoping to be noticed. He was not likely to assert his presence, since this was a job for others, though he would assist if he could.

"Then I'm not too late!" Makaio chimed. His words were a bit more direct this time, and he tilted his head towards Bara, sniffing her before shifting closer. He bowed his head to her - not out of the custom of the Glen, but as what he thought was an appropriate action when meeting another of his kind - then lifted it back up after only a portion of a second, his smile bright. For a few more seconds, however, he didn't say anything: just stood their, ears swiveling. It took about a tenth of a minute for him to say anything, but when he did speak, his words were a bit hurried, sounding apologetic for being so socially unusual around the doe.

"Do you think maybe we should started looking? I mean, who's leading us?" He glanced around to the usual heads of the herd, peering at the small gathering of Charlotte, Rolan, and Prince Tristam. His concern and curiosity seemed like it had been lightly dipped in skepticism.

Bara looked around quickly after the buck's awkward movement. "I'm... not sure." she admitted. "I'm sorta waiting to see if someone else takes an initiative." She seemed a bit disturbed around the large group, but held composure. "My name is Barasuishou -- Bara for... short. What is.. your name?" she asked quietly, not wanting another awkward silence.

Watching the others with interest, Wolfbane rose and walked towards the other Herla. He was large, not overly, and a tad underweight, though his thick gray pelt hid the latter. He wandered towards Bara and and Makaio, stopping when he was beginning to feel too close. His orange eyes watched their movements, and a longing rushed over him

(Heret is a concept Herla, just to let everyone know)

The soft but many voices that filled the Glen were what stirred Heret's curiousity. He raised his head from grazing and slowly and carefully, he too made his way forward, listening all the while. Someone had stolen the stockings? What sort of cruel individual would commit such a crime in the season of giving? The deer moved closer to the others, being careful to make sure the ground was steady before he took a step. The young lad was still getting used to the pitch black darkness that was now his world, but he was doing decently for one in his position. "I don't know what help I can be, but I will glady try." Heret stated softly, pausing near where the last voice that had spoken had originated.

Charlotte stepped to the fore of her little group, throwing back a little wink at Tristam, letting him know she had seen him. Her sparrow-speckled wings fluttered slightly in the wind as she waited in silence for the attention of the assembled Herla.

When all whispering had died down, she raised her voice. "Thank you for coming today. I know I speak for the High Queen also, in thanking you for doing this for your Clans. We have no idea how far we will need to go to recover these stockings." She began pacing back and forth before the waiting Herla. "The only clues we have for the perpetrators are these paw prints, which were found near where the stockings were being kept. They do not resemble anything we've come in contact with before. This being said, there could be some danger to those who join me in searching these creatures down."

Charlotte stopped in front of Shay, glaring slightly at the fop. "We will be getting dirty, and quite possibly sleeping away from our thickets for some time." Her gaze moved off to catch the eyes of every being there. "If you don't think you can handle the travel, turn back now. Therefore, if anyone has any questions for me, please ask them promptly." She waited for the first question to fly.

When the war veteran stepped into the glen, Shay gave him a sideward glance that turned into full eye contact and cordial nod. Rolan was someone he admired, both for his favored court position and the honor of fighting alongside him in battle. Most of Shay's scars were well hidden by his thick fur, but he could still clearly remember how he got them, and even how Rolan got some of his.

Thus, the insinuation by the princess that Shayann might not be up to the task struck a sour note. Practice made him able to hold on to his previous expression, turning the sudden wrinkle of his nose into an extension of his smile. He turned away from Charlotte, his strides just as they were when he entered, and took a position nearby his befanged comrade. The civilians were the ones who needed to ask questions.

Bara perked her head up. "Danger? Does that mean.. perhaps we shall get a fight?" she asked. She longed for a good fight. Despite her dainty appearance, she had done a great deal of physical fighting with her sisters.

She didnt mind that she may get dirty, although it did bother her slightly. But her experience... you can get very dirty in fights with females.

[[If you know the Barasuishou that's she's based off of, you will understand. Since its a show more or less about fighting dolls. xD]]

Bane's eyes lit up. He was a well seasoned traveler, had pretty much always been. However, the thought of paw prints from an unknown beast made him want to think twice about the stocking hunt. Deciding to see what the others were doing, he walked around. His ear twitched slightly at Bara's words, and excitement grew in him. The gray mountain Herla had never been in a true fight before, and he was itching to become a warrior.

It was also his concern, however, to know if the searchers, for all their troubles, would get paid. It only made sense, after all! His mind, greedy and scheming, began plotting what he could do if there was money involved.

Narcissa pawed anxiously at the ground looking slightly worried, dirty? and away from her thicket? this adventure didn't sound all that pleasant to her any longer, but she wasn't going to give up just because of a little dirt and she was as curious as ever to find out what was in those missing stockings. Her curls bounced as she uneasily took a step forward, "s-so you have no idea at all? and it could just be some vicious wild animal we have never seen before?" she held her head high as she piped up, her ears stood straight up as if waiting to catch any sound of a predator nearby, and her eyes were widened. "We don't even know what we are looking for!" She said in dismay, before casting a glance down at her hooves, her bangs fell over her eyes, "i hope no one gets hurt on this venture..." she sighed," no matter i'm much to curious about whats in those stockings that the fiend stole to care about whether or not i'll get hurt.. i suppose you can count me still in."

The blind herla was not nearly as excited as those around him seemed to be. Heret was willing to venture far and long, was willing to face danger, and he was willing to fight. He just didn't know if he was capable of such things anymore. Still... He did not want to be the one to change his mind and give up the quest, even though only a few would probably blame him for it. No, Heret would try to help. No matter how hard the loss of his sight would make the task. All he needed was someone who could help him out along the way...

The scarred buck's head lifted at the sound of Charlotte's words. He listened silently, the usual solemnly pensive expression never leaving his features. Nor did he move from his spot, or so much as twitch a hoof -- let no Herla here think him a coward. "If peril comes, then it will come. The creature -- or creatures, more likely -- have already shown themselves capable of moving among us." These measured words held no trace of the worry within him. He shouldn't be concerned -- he'd walked out of danger alive before, after all, though not unmarked -- but he was no warrior.

Still, let the others get worked up, either with worry or excitement. Rook flicked an ear, then spoke up again, adding his question to the previous one. "How large are these paw prints? That, at least, could give us some indication of the size of our quarry." That would surely make some difference.

(I R LATE >>;; wink

Lumina had been in the towns when she first heard the news, someone had stolen the christmas stockings. At first, this realization had not neccessarily bothered her, after all, who would want to give her a stocking? she hardly knew anyone to begin with... but then, she heard that a number of the stockings had been stolen from children... She then thought of her little siblings, and how distrought they would have been if one of their presents were stolen. And she knew that she had to to help, for the sake of the children.
Now, as she entered the clearing, led on by the voices she could hear coming from them, she saw a rather large group of Herla had already arrived. "Oh dear..." she said slightly distraught, her head raised slightly and turning from side to side uneasily. "I do hope I'm not to late to join?" she asked, to no one in particular.
