Mewt makes an appearance? Awesome, I knew about Ezel. He appears in a quest and gives you this card that protects your judge (Helps ALOT against Illua, trust me. And it also freaks her out. It's funny to watch).

The new system is so useful, because I usually skip through the battle results. The big, "You have mastered a new ability!" at the bottom of the screen helps, too.

It does, It took me about 112 hours to get Cid (First to get to the highest level...) to the highest level.

Skarlis, it's not really a continuing storyline, but it's the same thing, basically.

I still don't understand the chocobo thing, Hypno. I've fought that group so many times, and I don't remember getting a summon scion item. As far as I know, you get them all from cups. The Earrings of the Dead are given to you buy the doctor you help by giving him Cactus Fruit (Forgot his name! sad )

Yeah! Though at first, if you recall, his teddy bear is seen in the beginning of the game. Mewt is much older so I'm guessing that the sequel takes place at least 20 years after the first game. At least in the real world cuz Ivalice seems to have changed enormously and it seems like at least 100 years have passed. I mean, not only you have 12 months now, there are 2 more races available for recruiting and 1 other that isn't (Cid is from that race and it's too bad they don't have their own unique jobs like the other 2). I wonder how long moogles live cuz Montblanc is still around even though it seems like a lot of years have passed.
And yes, that Ezel is much better this time around cuz he doesn't join the clan, he-he. I like his missions cuz they're kind of mysterious and not easy to figure out sometimes. Too bad at some point you receive a message from him saying he won't be around so, I'm guessing no more quests from him. sad

Indeed! The thing is, I wish there was a way to know about other abilities you can equip cuz sometimes I forget to equip things like the Tiara and I have to go back to that job so that the unit can equip it. That would be helpful to include on a third game you know...
You know what I miss? The star on top of the character's heads when you were switching jobs cuz that counted all of the abilities, not just the action abilities like now. That's an awful change if you ask me...

Wow! I have 150 hours and I haven't been able to get one of my units to at least level 80. I guess it's taken me this long cuz I have been trying for most to be at a similar level. Most of them are at level 75 by now.

He-he, yeah! Basically...

Huh? That's weird... why haven't you been able to get that scion item? Are you sure you are visiting Goug during the first few days of Ashleaf?
Like I said, you need to see a monster encounter that is named "Of a Feather" and the red chocobo must be at level 99. Once you beat the monster, it shouldn't re-appear. I remember the earrings of the dead but like you, I can't even recall how I got it.

You get a message from Ezel saying he won't be around? I keep getting a repeatable quest that leads to some note. I can't figure the second one out... I feel braindead now. gonk You see Mewt's teddy bear in the beginning? Hmm, I'd better check that out.

I completely agree with you on that. I've gotten into the problem so many times it's not funny. Then I have to re-equip everything... Ugh.

Ah, yeah, Cid and Luso (Dugra (Obviously. xd )) are the two people I use a lot.

I've been to that fight so many times, and I haven't seen a level 99 Red Chocobo. Wish I did, so Cid could stop one-shotting everything... Heh. My main battle group is in the upper 60s and up, I think.

Yeah, and now I haven't gotten the quest from Ezel in more than a year now.
Gee, that's tough but don't feel bad about it, I sometimes can't figure the second destination out either, he-he. However, when in doubt, save just before getting to the note, that way after, you can just browse around the maps in different directions and see if you happen to stumble upon the destination by chance, that's what I did! mrgreen
Yeah, the Teddy bear is in the desk, I think...

Thanks! I thought I was alone on that. I tell ya, the whole "master" thing next to the jobs is kinda useless if they don't include "ALL" abilities, not just the action type ones. If they don't fix this in the third (if there ever is one to begin with), I'm not gonna buy it! Heck, they need to fix a lot of things from the second one for me to actually go buy a third one, that's fer darn sure!

Yeah, I can see that. However, I use them all! I switch to the low level characters once some have reached a higher one like, if 6 reach level 77, I use the ones at level 76. 3nodding
Right now a Gria of mine has the lowest level (76) and it's not long before she catches up to the rest who are at level 77; well, most of them anyway cuz one reached level 78 just cuz I made it kill a bit more enemies than it had to. Ever done the mission where you have to beat lots of re-spawning mimics? That one doesn't exactly help, he-he.

That's weird! You should have gotten that item already and if you don't see it, maybe you need to sort the items in yer inventory.

Sorry it took me a while to get back. Since the guild has been pretty much dead, I haven't felt like coming back lately. sweatdrop

I think pretty much every change in FFTA2 is amazing. The game is twice as fun as FFTA, which to me felt tedious. Laws are much more better now, less restrictive but breaking them still incur penalties. I so hated Marche, he's a selfish p***k who wants to go back to being picked on and whatnot. Mewt is living happily in Ivalice and he wants to destroy it? No thanks, give me Luso. He's funny, cool, energetic, and really likes Ivalice. Not only that, Cid in FFTA2 is so damn kickass, he's my overall 2nd favorite Cid, behind FF12's Cid.

Many things got rebalanced cause certain items were broken in FFTA. Now, it's easier to assign better equipment cause now it tells you how much it gives or take to a stat. In FFTA, you had to guess how much str and whatnot a weapon had. Strong jobs now take longer to get, due to most of them being quests. It paces the game a bit better, and the Bazaar is fun as well.

I'm completely in love with Parivirs and Green Mages. My Viera Green Mage was a front line fighter, cause she hit hard physically, and was always casting protect. Adelle is now a Ninja, and will soon be a Heritor.

Nice to see someone likes the changes between the first game and the second one. I gotta tell ya, I agree with you on most things. However, I can see Marche's point of view cuz you can't hide in a fantasy world forever, that's just not right. I would have liked to stay in Ivalice too but not forever like Mewt intended. I do like Luso a lot more, especially cuz he looks more like a male than Marche does. I am not a big fan of androgynous characters but I don't dislike them either just after one glance.

What do you think about certain item changes like, the angel ring for example? I used to love those and now they're just shadows of their former selves. It seems a lot of other things changed for the better too like the wizard's hat cuz before it wasn't any good and I think now it allows you to learn an ability so it's ok.
I kinda agree about the bazaar thing but it's really tough getting some of the rare loot like the windgod crystal for example. I also haven't been able to get a lot of others like the windslicer pinion, earthwyrm crystal, gold chalice, orichalcum, tanned beast hide, wyvern fang, mahbeny, godwood, putrid liquid or the wind sigil. And having to steal them is kind of a pain in the rear cuz you never know who to steal it from.

You have good taste! I like green mages just fine but I like spellblades a bit more.
Guess what? Adelle is way past learning all the Heritor abilities in my file and she's currently at level 91. It's taken me a long time to get her to that level but since I bought the game and everything, I don't mind the effort.

IMHO, items that grant you very useful abilities, like Auto-Raise, Auto-Haste etc should just give you the ability and that's it, especially when it's a ring that enables that character to keep on fighting. Giving it stats just makes it so everyone will strive to get one to their whole team. At least they're basic in FFTA2, which is how it should be. I never used Angel Rings anyways, cause I always had a WHM on the back healing and protecting everyone, and an Elementalist with that Fire healing spell as well, so it was all good.

And some items in FFTA2 were a b***h to get, and many were requirements to do other quests, which really ticked me off. Some items should be hard to get, cause you know they'll net you great items for 'em.

I gotta love the Green Mage design. Capelet with the Beret is just visually great, and they just hit hard. Gotta love that metallic thwack the maces do when you get hit with 'em! I might get Spellblade sometime, if it's overpowered like the Assassin, I'm not touching it. I hate overpowered jobs.

Nice to see you back!
I do see your point about overpowered stuff but if that was the case then why make the angel ring so full of stuff in the first place? Didn't they know it was a bit too overpowered to begin with? Even though I managed to get one for each member of my clan, I hardly make any of them wear one to begin with. I do love the status it protects a unit from, even though the Sacri shield has the exact same protections.
You know what Item I don't remember seeing in the sequel? The mirror mail! In the first game you had a bubble telling you the unit had reflect and I don't remember seeing a unit start with a reflect bubble when wearing one of those. I don't recall if I even own one of those things in my clan but I think I saw an opponent wearing one at least. I was really surprised cuz I saw my magic attack reflected and I had no idea that was going to happen.

I say, if there are lots of loot that are hard to come by, there should at least be some kind of rumor or something to help you track down the units who hold them. It wouldn't exactly be cheating cuz you know that even if you reveal their loot, the chances of them having the one you actually one is quite slim. You know?

I agree! The green mage is pretty cool but I can't remember that about the mace when it hits someone. I still have 2 of my vieras who haven't mastered some abilities yet but I want to wait for them to reach the highest level as assassins so they will have decent speed before I make them learn abilities again.
I think you're gonna like the spellblade. It's like the elementalist but the main difference is that you can use those abilities while paired up with a bow/greatbow so they're even more useful. wink If you ask me, it doesn't feel overpowered at all.
Gee, it seems we're not very similar in tastes cuz I love the assassin job (always have). Not that I'm into overpowered stuff but I love how sexy they look as assassins and you gotta admit, now it's not as easy as before to use their abilities (except for ultima masher) so they're not bad at all.
