Malek turned his head so he could see her out of the corner of his eye. AN eye that gleamed strangely from under his silver-gray hair as he said "To find some answers." He started to walk away.

"Then why don't I help you?" Sari said, she thought it might make things interesting to help some one who seemed to dislike the king.

"I know this place better than anybody and I believe that the land that was taken by the king should be given back and that we should pay tribute to the lives lost in taking over this land and the terrible rules enforced by m- the king." Sari said, she smiled at the notable suprise on his face.

Malek said "Thanks, but no thanks. I can't risk anyone getting hurt because of my actions." He began to walk again.

"I wouldn't worry about me if I were you. If you ever change your mind I usually hang out at the abandoned docks by the forest." Sari said and teleported into her room. She got dressed and changed into her princess form.

Well, this is turning out to be more interesting than I thought it would Malek walked out of the alley to find himself on a brightly lit street, what appeared to be a fish market. He wrinkled his nose at the smell of the place. I never planned on coming to this port, and now I don't know where the hell I am. He sighed and looked up and down the street, wondering what to do next.

Sarindia walked down to the throne room where she was to wave her father off as he went to meet with the king of the other kingdom. Once her father was gone she prepared for the ball that was to celebrate her birthday that night.

Malek came to a shop that appeared to be particularly busy. The proprieter was collecting several coin purses from a soldier, who was shouting at his men to be careful with the fish they were loading onto Imperial Wagons. Malek stayed a safe distance away until the wagons and soldiers were gone down the lane and around the corner. Then he approached the shopkeeper. "Excuse me good sir" he said mustering as much formallity as he could.
"Yes, how might I help you" replied the clerk.
"I was wondering, because I have noticed other such official transactions occuring at various other establishments, as to the occasion for such Imperial purchase?" Malek probed.
The man looked taken aback for a moment, then said "Why don't tell me you don't know. Today is the Princess Sarindia's birthday, and tonight is the Royal Banquet for all the nobility, dignitaries, and a select few Imperial sactioned Merchant Franchises."

Sarindia got an idea that might make her birthday more interesting. She wrote an invitation adressed to 'Sir Malek'. She snickered as she sealed the envolope and handed it to an owl "Deliver this to Malek, he's at the market." she told the owl and it flew off to the market and landed on Malek's shoulder.

Malek noticed something in the sky. It appeared to be a bird. As he stared, he realized "An owl...in broad daylight?" His curiosity turned to shock and startlement as the owl divebombed toward him from the air.

The owl stopped above him and hung the invitation that was tied to his leg and stayed, waiting for him to untie it.
