 The smirk on her maw may have meant she shared the same image as her companion. Her children, white as bleached bone, touched red by fire, their own paws stained with the blood of the fallen. Such a glorious image, strong, powerful warriors.
"They will be, I will make certain of that."
Her voice was strong, unwavering, a statement of fact. There was no question about it, her children would be powerful, there would be no force to rival their fierceness.
It was the only thing she held gratitude toward the lion she had met those days ago (perhaps gratitude was not the word). With his blood, she had created something great, soon the world would see.
Not that any such thoughts meant she did not intend to tear that lion to shreds the next time they crossed paths. Fitting perhaps, for she expected him to try the same.

It was hard to NOT imagine such a beautiful mental image. Beautiful white cubs to terrorize the masses.
Hmmhmm, they'd be even more beautiful adults though, as the little fantasy went on from there (in as un-creepy of a way as possible, goodness), but she kept that beautiful image to herself, instead settling for shrugging her shoulders back - the only thing she could do to work the soreness out of her poor muscles.
Not like their pride has a masseuse of any sort (that wouldn't use claws as she assumed it).
But there was no problem with that, she was strong so her body would hold up nicely until she was allowed to rest again. Which hopefully would be sooner rather than later. It wasn't as though she went out on a limb to pick fights with others with her time.
She balanced it more nicely than that.
"I look forward to seeing them after they're born." Lake said after a moment, finding no need to continue pondering dreamily about cubs who weren't alive yet growing up.

She nodded a silent response, there was no need to speak a simple agreement, such words were wasted between lions such as themselves. Though for Kali's part, it may have been less eagerness for the appearance of her cubs and more for them to be out of her. When the day came, and her warriors had entered the world, certainly then she would know it had been worth it all, until then however, well, her mood wasn't going to improve.
Paws stepped on the harder sands of the inner pride, the stone of pridal dens. A quiet sigh, it had been a long day, longer than she would have ever cared to admit, how her body ached.
"Night is coming."
And she needed to rest, it was as close to an admission of such the lioness would speak. Then den, though she may not have been one to call it a home, it was where her children would learn and grow, within the land of sand and fire.

Hmm? Oh yes, her companion was most correct in her words, giving the sky a glance before sighing a bit. Ha ha...
...
Well, it was perhaps a decent time to settle in for the night for the two lionesses.
"It is indeed... so perhaps this is where we say goodnight?" she offered, a suggestion that would allow the mother-to-be to go and get some rest without admitting to anything more than that it was late.
A brilliant idea in it's own right.
Which of course was one that simply was followed up by a slight bow of the head from Lakeisha, waiting for an answer for a moment before she moved from the other lioness's side to start making her way across the sands -
Off towards her own den to settle in to rest.
