"Yeah we-fjdk PBBBT!"
She'd been in the middle of a witty comeback when she'd had sand flung into her face. A whole MOUTHFUL of it, and it tasted naaasstttyy, prompting her to try and spit out more than what would come out willingly. Nooo, she had to be stuck with a mouth full of sand and FAIL.
Pbbt! PBBBBBBBBBT! AUGH!!!
"You jerkface!" she growled between her attempts to get the sand out of her mouth, eventually getting enough out of her mouth that it only tasted like.. well, sand and not like she'd tried to eat a beach. Ppbbbleh! GROSS. Gross and nasty and ew!
DO NOT WANT!
"Well if you'd just let me look you'd still have a snake right now!" she hissed, swiping a pawful of sand in his direction in retaliation for the faceful she'd gotten.
Unfortunately neither of the cubs were aware of their impending doom.

Oh god his eyes, it burned! His fit of laughter cut short, he was forced instead to paw at his eyes, fiercely trying to knock the sand away. ARRRG!! Why did it burn so much!?
He shook his head, pawing at his eyes again, where was she, where was she?! Wait, there she was, a hint of movement, his head shook again, at last clearly the blur from his eyes, or at least enough to see the white blob that was his sister. Oh she was so in for it now!
Tiny claws extended, Baal'esh lept at his sister. That was it, no holding back, he was going to CLAW HER FACE OFF!
At least that had been the plan, until a piercing roar froze him where he stood, a familiar call that instantly sent his ears back and his belly flat against the sand. Uh-oh, he knew that roar, please don't see him, please don't see him, she saw him. Nothing like a mother to end a fight and put fear into her children.

And Aodhan had been more than happy to puff up and prickle at her brother when he made the effort to lunge at her again, pleased with herself for having silenced his laughter!
.... .... But it seemed that they were both little kittens in trouble, her attempts at being more threatening than a squirrel (a failure in and of itself) silenced by the sound of a very unhappy mother, her fur remaining prickled (out of fear) as she also ducked down into the sand, ears flattened back against her head and wincing.
Ooooooh.
Something in her knew that it was too much to hope that it was only her brother that was in trouble too, opening one clenched-shut eye to peer and see if mother was looming to give them both a verbal beatdown.
Disappointed commanders were a no-go in her book, and if she'd made it a go that would have been the worst thing ever!

He dared to look up, blinking the last bits of sand from his eyes. There she was, looming, huge, terrifying, the mother who's anger all cubs lived in fear of. Ohgodohgodohgodohgod, they were in so much trouble, please don't let her be as angry as she looks, pleasepleaseplease.
He had nearly yelped in the face of that fierce gaze, his breath held for what he was sure was too come. No, he wouldn't hide, wouldn't cower, wouldn't dare let that squeaky noise out of his mouth though it fought so hard to escape. Biting his tongue, he stood up straight, as straight as he could, straight as he dared.
A glare shot at his sister when he thought mother wasn't watching. This was all -her- fault, butting in when she wasn't wanted, breaking his snake, stupid sister. For a brief moment he thought of speaking such, well it -was- her fault, but he was smart enough to know better. They were already in trouble, he didn't want more.
Yipe!
A sharp swat to the rump, a fierce glare followed by a push in the direction of the den. His head lowered, this was the end.

Eeeeek! Oh they were in for it no-!!
EEK! FEET. GROUND. WAAAANNNNT! For a few moments Aodhan had flailed her little paws helplessly before they'd curled up right against her stomach like a good little 'loyal' instinct. Meeeehhh. 'This was the end' was right. No more romping to play, no more... ...
Peh! She'd just get revenge on her brother when mom wasn't looking! If she could manage revenge in such a short amount of time as to keep them from being caught again. She'd just get a bigger and meaner snake and keep it all to her self next time!
YEAH.
Though her logic didn't cover the fact that by doing such she'd be set up for revenge from her brother. It was hard for her to think that far ahead when she was too busy having her ability to walk stolen away from her.
Peh.
PEH.
Later then. Yes, she'd do it later.

Ears back, tail tucked, Baal sulked, paws trodding reluctantly through the sands, oh how he wanted to drop back, to trail behind his mother's larger steps. But she wouldn't let him, pushing him forward each time he tried, there was no escape.
Sisters! -She- broke -his- toy, and -he- was in trouble. Hmph! This was not over, not by far, he was plotting his own vengeance, HE WOULD TEACH HER TO BREAK HIS TOYS! Later, when she was sleeping, he'd catch another snake and put it in her bed, hah! She wouldn't be so keep to take his snake when there was one crawling all over here. Or maybe he'd leave something else, like a scorpion or a dead bird, oh the possibilities were endless.
And yet there was consolation in one fact, he was not the one being carried by the scruff.
