~:Jay:~ Jay was one of the first to hand in her history quiz, history came easy to her, she had only skimmed the chapter the night before, but was pretty sure she had a clear understanding of The Guilded Age. She had most likely gotten a mid to low ‘A’. Jay never had any problems with school, it came easy to her, but the hard part was staying in class when her body ached to be outside seconds away from a painful make out session with a street concrete curb. She jumped up when the bell rang and rushed to her next class. Art was not as bad, she sat down and took out her sketch book, it was suppose to be filled by the end of the week, most of it was just quick sketches of objects she liked or people who had been standing still long enough for her to get their general shape down on paper. All of the drawings had been done with a cheep blue ballpoint pen, or very dull yellow Ticonderoga pencil, she never put that much effort into her art stuff, like most of school she would never use this, it was all just one more step up to go so that she could get to collage.

Dimitri spent alot of time on his picture. He was currently working throught a second sketchbook, he'd hand in his first one for marks and keep working on this one. He wasn't to sure what he was drawing but as he worked on it he saw what it was. Two weapons crossed, a large dark bladed sword and a staff with strage ruins and a golden light about it, the sword of judgement and the staff of law, Holding them were two people. One seemed to be the evil entity, he was holding the sword of judgement. The other a white figure held the staff of law. Both seemed to have had a transformation, the one holding the sword seemed younger in a way, more reckless and personalized, black covered his body forming somesort of demonic armor. The other was more angelic with what looked like a pair of wings growing from it's back.

Gallant was busy stretching his neck to see the art in the hands of the girl next to him, his golden hair falling in cascades across his shoulders. His own book lay closed on the desk in front of him, even its pristine black cover was decorated in the flowing designs of his art. He had filled it with all sort of images, as if it had been in the hands of a madman with nothing better to do. "You have a very quick hand, I assume. Judging by the candid nature of your central objects, you must have had to sketch them in a timely fashion." Gallant said, almost in the ear of the girl.
He hadn't really known her, but he thought her name start with a 'g' or a 'j'...

~:Jay:~ “Huh?” Jay replied and looked down at her drawings. “Umm… You mean that I draw fast? Right?... or are you insulting me?” She had not been paying attention and was caught off guard when he started to critic her style. Jay flipped though the pages of the sketchbook and shrugged, “I guess I don’t put that much effort into it, Art’s never going to get me anywhere, unless it’s street art.” She stopped on one of the pages and set it down on the table. This page showed a few quick sketches of a soda can and an elaborate design for a graffiti motif she had planed to paint under the bridge on the north side of town. It was beautiful in her eyes, exactly the kind of thing that would bring some much needed culture into that majority white middleclass quite community.

"I believe quite the contrary on both accounts." Kai exclaimed, a mild tone of indignation touching his voice. "First off, I believe your art is quite wonderful. Your quick sketching requires practiced movement and belies a talent for understanding the translation of existing objects into a two dimensional representation." Kai explained himself, trying to be as precise as possible. "Secondly, art is very useful. Several math based professions require art including architecture or other design based professions. Then there are illustration based professions like graphic design and such. You can use art to make a political statement, especially overtly." Kai said triumphantly, as if he had just imparted the most important piece of information in the world. "See? Art is only as useful as you need it to be!" Kai said, then a look of curiosity passed over his face. "What DO you plan on doing anyway, that you think art is so useless?"

.:Wess:. Wess dragged himself into his next class. He was disappointed in himself. He knew he could have done better on that test, it was just, it was just like when he got it; his mind already made other plans. It then tried to smooth it over with a piece of chocolate and a promise that it would never happen again, which it always did. Wess groaned as he sat down in his desk in math. He pulled out a book and began reading. If his mind was always going to make him fail what was the point of even trying to pay attention?

Gallant shifted in his seat. The stretch of silence after his last question seemed a bit too uncomfortable for him. Perhaps he had come on a little too strong. In an effort to put the situation he put his head back over his own desk, bent almost double, his hair blanketing his face till it vanished under the tumbling golden locks. Quietly, he drew on the cover of his book, scratching a new drawing on the black cardboard with his thick lead pencil.

Dimitri finished the picture and was working on adding details and a background. He worked on detail first since he couldn't figure out what setting this would be taking place in.
