Rorschach he has a strong sense of justice and he does in the name of justice and to keep Innocent/people who don't commit mores (something that the general population think is morally wrong and usually set up laws against these... look it up! lol) out of harms way.

After reading the Watchmen and Philosophy novel, I found out that I tend to like some characters because the character(s) and I have something in common.
Rorschach and I are right-wingers and most of our beliefs are true. Not to mention I would've done the same to the a*****e that killed that little girl.
Nite Owl doesn't feel confident unless in a costume and kind of represents some sort of balance between Rorschach and Ozymandias.. whereas whatever benefits everyone with as much of a win-win situation as possible for both sides, he'll take that side. I don't feel confident unless I'm in a costume (in hiding my face somehow, even wearing a mask or costume make-up), and usually I have a balance when it comes to life-determining decisions sometimes.
But I have a split with my "who I am" factor. There are times where I can be pissy and nuts for all the good intentions and right reasons much like Rorschach, but generally I'm a nice person like Nite Owl is the typical nice-guy.
....then there's the kinky side which shows my hint of Comedian.. But I'm not gonna get into that subject.

I love Hollis, Dan, and Nelson because I believe that they're doing it with honest intentions. They're not perfect, but they're trying, goddamn it. Dan's motives can occasionally be selfish (putting out the fire to satisfy his own need to be needed), and the novel suggests that Nelly is somewhat of a glory hound (playing "Cowboys and Indians"), but, hey. The characters' flaws are just part of what makes the story so strong.
I have moral issues with masks like Rorschach, Hooded Justice, and the Comedian, who do whatever they want because they feel it's "right" regardless of what society or the law says. (Rorschach says, "Possibly homosexual, must investigate further" as if being gay is a crime, when it's canon that in this alternate world, homosexuality is far more accepted than in ours) On one hand, sure, the idea of "never compromise, even in the face of Armageddon" is kind of admirable, but in practicality, it's stupid and selfish and dangerous. This is not someone I would want on the streets "protecting" me.
