He watched as she placed herself in the position he wanted her to be in. Though there was always a cost. “What would you like in return then, for helping raise my daughter? Surely you can do all the things she would need and help me. But what is it that you are gaining from this lovely lady with the magic leaves,” he smirked softly as he watched her. The leaves and sap felt cool and slightly tingly. It wasn’t something he’d want to feel every day, but it soothed the pain from the wound. “But what about you, any dirty secrets or anything I should know about. I’ve shared some and you’ve listened, but you haven’t said much about your life. Surely you would have some other Da’lin after you.” Already he would probably try and tear him to shreds, even with his partially lame leg, he was getting used to her.

"Honestly, there's really not much to tell. I'm... how would you say it? A debutante? My mother was very strict with me; she refused to allow me to sully myself with anybody but the absolute best. I was raised to be calculating with who I offered my companionship and aid to, and honestly, many of our kind are foolish brutes who couldn't fight or talk their way out of a leopard's ribcage. And then, with the incident with my older sister... Oh, that was a dark mark upon our family, to be sure... Well, I kept mostly to myself, and the group of lionesses who presumed that my mother was their friend. Really, I'm quite sure they kept her around to mock her- see, this one cannot control her own offspring! But that just made me work harder to keep myself in perfect standing, for I refused to let my sister's mistakes carry over to me. It seems to have worked- after all, you've not connected her name to mine, or else you've just been too noble to mention it. But now, it is time for the world to know that Chandra is not the sins of her family; no, it's my time to come out into the world." Her grin was sort of grim and angry as she spoke; her older sister's mistake (three cubs marked as Zahina's) was a great shame to her, and she did all she could to outshine it. "What I gain from attending to your cub is honor, and respect, for one good worshipper of Da'lin is worth three of Zahina's." Shaking her head, she looked down at his leg again. "How is it feeling?"

He nodded at her, “I can respect that,” he got to his feet and looked at with her a light smile. “Not quite good as new but perhaps in a day or too I will be ship shape. The pain is gone, so I guess the healer stuff isn’t all crap. No offense, my mother always thought it was…for weaker lions and it was all a mind set. So I was always ‘toughing’ it out. Which in some ways has made me stronger and I think it was good for me. But I do believe there is something with this medicinal leaves and what not. I like it,” he gave her that charming smile and watched her. “So I guess, if you would like to…you could come with me to meet Circe. I was on my way home anyways. If your up for it, she’ll have my head for being late. I was supposed to be getting food, until that ignorant male felt I was invading his space,” he rumbled lowly thinking of the stupid lion that had picked a fight with him.

Chandra nodded. "Sometimes it does seem that way; a healer can be a crutch, especially if they depend on mysticism and prayer to do what simple herbs can do better. However, given the right mindset, a healer can be a great aid, especially for a smaller creature. Toughing it out has done you no harm; just looking at your muscles I can see that. But," she said, smiling prettily, "I'm so glad I was able to help you! And I would love to meet your Circe- I'm sure that on our way back to your den, you can easily take down some weak creature." His wounds would be quite fine; he was already ready for physical activity, and he could probably fight again tomorrow, or even later today if he needed to. "Your body accepted the healing juices well; you're well on the way to repair."

Ares looked at her curiously, "Do all healing leaves work this well on lions? I'm sure there are ones that act as poison." He thought about it, "I'm glad you didn't do that to me if there are, that wouldn't be too pleasant," he teased with a smirk. He smiled, charmed when she spoke of his muscle, he was slightly egotistical. He couldn't help it, he liked it when chicks checked him out. "Hm...Well if you aren't busy I can always bring her out to meet you. She needs a good femaleish," he said with slight confusion, "figure, if you get my meaning."

"Actually, no. Most healing leaves work slowly; when the body's metabolism is fast, and the lion is fit, however, they work far better. There are juices and saps that will poison the body, but why would I ever use one of those on you? You'd be able to kill me far before the poison killed you, and even regardless of that, it would be cruel to deprive the world of such a big, handsome, strong fighter as yourself. And I would never do that to your daughter. Leave a cub fatherless?! Nobody's that evil, and if they are, they're not worth calling themselves lions. Poor girl... she'd be an orphan, truly. No little Da'lin deserves to be alone in the world, and I would be incredibly honored to be a good example for her, if that is what you wish." Chandra gently pawed the edge of the wound; it was looking much better. "I think it is set; would you be a dear and attempt to stand?" she purred, pleased with herself. It was a fine job, and he was quite a fine lion. Perhaps this was the chance she'd been looking for.

He smiled and stood, his leg shaking slightly but it soon stopped. "Tingley." He looked at her, "Feels better though, I must thank you for that." His bright blue eyes gazing at her with tempting eyes, "I am glad you wouldn't do that to me then, you are a noble lioness for a da'lin." He let his tail sway behind him, "I should probably get going back unfortunately. I'd love to stay, but I cannot. Until tomorrow?" he inquired.

The intensity of his gaze warmed the pit of Chandra's stomach, and girlish butterflies stirred. Yes, this male would be perfect for her plans. "Some nobility is needed, even in our kind, otherwise we'd destroy each other and the pride would get nowhere," she said softly, her eyes demure. "I bid you farewell, then, Ares; until tomorrow. Tell your little one that... a friend says hello." Was friend the right word? She didn't want him to think she was just a friend to him, for she could tell already that she'd like to be more than that, but there wasn't really a word for what she wanted to convey. "A good friend," she added, with a little wink as she watched his tail swish over his well-muscled back legs. "'Til tomorrow!" And with that, she turned herself, swinging her hips a bit as she walked back towards the cave she called home, chuckling to herself. "Oh yes," she whispered. "'til tomorrow."
