i actually like that idea! drink at 18 but buy at 21. cuz as fyhr said, if you can be sent to kill and die, you should be able to drink.

marijuana i'm all for legalizing. its no more dangerous than alcohol. and i am of the opinion that getting a prescription for my hubby would do him a world of good.

I'm pretty much indifferent on the matter of pot; I don't care if people smoke it, I just won't myself.
I don't like the idea of something that slows my brain down like that.
And before anyone says it, yes, I drink, but despite being a rather small person, alcohol doesn't seem to affect me (read: I've never been as much as buzzed let alone drunk.

Well, that's another case of it depending on the person. I've known some really smart people who smoked pot. It didn't affect their mental faculties that anyone could tell but it did mellow out thier emotional issues. It's a lot easier to think when your nightmares aren't keeping you up at night.

On the other hand, I've known a few people that become complete dofuses when the smoke pot.

Also, to all those who say that they think this about drugs but that about alcohol, alcohol is a drug. It's it's own subset, with many different types, but it's still a drug. It affects, mood and thought process. It fiddles with brain function, how is that not a drug?
