“Well… the pride I want to join has five adults and a cub. Small pride, I guess. A big male with a red mane is the leader. When your kids are all grown up, you’ll be pretty close to a pride… if they decide to stay, of course.” She chuckled suddenly. Cubs changed as they grew a mind of their how. It was all rather unpredictable.
“But I’m sure you’d be a great leader. You have a sort of… soothing presence. Huh, what mean is, you’re easy to talk to and you seem easy to relate. I can see how others would follow you.” She spoke meekly, hoping it didn’t sound as if she was giving undue praise. All of a sudden, she was standing on four limbs again, trembling a little with the excitement that was quickly taking over her body. “Actually, you just gave me enough confidence to give a try with that bunch! I just… I’m not sure they’ll take me. They probably caught my scent more than once. I guess it’s about time I introduced myself.”
The young lioness whirled around to face the horizon as if she could see the lions in the great distance. She looked resolved.
“Yeah, I guess I will…” she whispered more to herself than to Patch before her tone grew in volume. ”Thanks for the chat. It was nice. Is there anything I could do for you before I go? Anything at all!”

Patch was surprised by Hinyari words of thanks and compliments. And she was offering do more for Patch? Patch's confidence and gratitude were high. "You've done a lot already. You inspired me to try to form a pride of my own and you distracted me from the pain. I think I have the strength for now to go to the temple," Patch said. She stood without shaking. The cubs had settled, perhaps to sleep. "It was a pleaser meeting you. I wish you the best of luck, though I have no doubt that you'll get into the pride."
Trying to think of a proper goodbye Patch said, "Goodbye. Actually, before you go, do you have any ideas for a name if I have a boy?" This had stumped her in the nights before. Now that she had a friend, Patch considered that Ari's advice would be helpful.

A name? Ari’s expression twisted comically as she considered the unexpected request. She would’ve done anything really. She was ready to climb the tree in search of fruit, dive into the lake to hunt some fish (even if she was aware she was pretty lousy at it), she would even run around in circles looking for Patch’s mate if that had been her request. But a boy’ name? Mmm…
“I don’t really…” she started shakily. “I wouldn’t know what to name a boy! Where I used to live there were a lot of guys I guess… Kuro, Caleb, Malchior, Orus, Firgos, Parry… I used to play with a Rima and a Breeze… ops girl names… there was Samson and Russ… I’m sorry I’ve never really thought about this.”
She was feeling pretty useless now.
“I like names that reflect the color… but they’ll be pretty colorful, huh? Might not be such a good idea. Some were named after precious stones. Others after plants. I remember Dande - get it? He was white and yellow, like dandelion flowers. Oakleaf was our leader. He was a gorgeous green boy. Sorry, I’m really not much help.” Helping a mother name her cub… it almost made her feel like a godmother. The mere thought of it brought forth a giggling fit. As if any cub would need her as a protector.

Patch liked the name Breeze. If only she could think of a boy version of it. A boy name meaning a gust of wind. Squall. "Thank you. You have inspired me. If we ever meet again consider yourself welcome in my home. I hope you can meet my cubs," Patch said.

“Oh, I’d love to meet them someday!” Hinyari said, excitedly switching her weight between her front paws. Then the spotty lioness dropped her head, licking her shoulder blade idly for a few seconds as if getting ready for leave.
“I wish you the best of luck… you know, with the labor and then taking care of little cubs. I’m glad you have your mate to help you. Well, so long.” And with that, Ari started moving further and further away from Patch, tail waving broadly to the sides and often looking back with silly smile, until the spotty lioness was nothing but a spot in the distance herself.
