"Sea?" he repeated, trying to think through the pain haze. What would his vocabulary have to do with time spent at sea? Did he have an accent he wasn't aware of? For that matter... HAD he spent time at sea? He... couldn't remember...

"you know, what they say about sailors speaking... colorfully... shall we say. I thought about dancing over the ocean. Certainly moisture enough, but I wouldn't trust those winds to dance upon. Doesn't help a lick that I can't swim." She laughed a bit as she tied off that set of bandages from about his leg then moved on to the next wound. "Silly isn't it? Not being able to swim, given what I do all day. Wow, you really are a mess. What ever happened to you anyway?"

"What does it look like happened?" he asked, the words coming out a bit rougher than he meant them to. He couldn't remember... He didn't remember if he'd been at sea. He didn't remember what had happened to put him in so much pain... this was becoming an uncomfortable trend.

"It looks like you got trampled by a herd of dragons, and a few Earths for good measure, then dropped in the ocean to be a ball for a game between mers and sea ponies, then dropped to the ground and burnt half to a crisp before having a whole forest crash down upon you. And then you got hurt." her tone was just a bit too cheerful.

He flinched and regretted it immediately as it sent a small spike of pain through him. "Then that's probably what happened," he muttered, though he hoped not. He wasn't sure how someone could survive all of that.
