I read them. I had some people that would seriously ask me a million questions and expect me to tell them the whole story of their life in detail and they all want to know if its all going to come true then get angry with me after it doesnt. I mean its not my fault most people dont realise that their future is constantly changing and the cards only tell them what path they are on currently. I actually stopped taking my cards places because some people were so ignorant about it all. My one friend asked me a million questions a day and got to the point she would call me everyday and even in the middle of the night to ask me a question and read her. I got mad and told her that i was no longer doing anything for her.It just makes me mad that people use you when they think you have all the answers to everything. Most of my readings come true spot on but you need to try to do things on your own and not rely on them. I dont think you have to be psychic to use them you only need some form of connection with the cards. If they arent yours you shouldnt touch them with out permission though. i know that much. other than that as long as you believe in your cards you dont have to be anything special to use them.

ρℓαgυε яαтs αη∂ вℓσσ∂ч cяυмρεтs...Definitely; Tarot cards are personal, you on't touch those that don't belong to you.
And it's never a good idea to become dependent on any form of divination. Status >in want of arts, please?

oddly enough i've seen a deck or two at barnes and noble. but i much prefer more occult oriented stores, they have better selecetions. if you can get to a sci-fi con that would be the best! thats where i got mine. there was a booth set up that had hundreds of decks and she had a copy of each deck open so people could look thru the whole deck before decided on any. being able to see all the cards is a great boon.

The shop I used to go to in Shrewsbury(Sacred Moon) used to have a ring-binder with all the decks in. It does make it so much easier to pick one when you can see and connect with the cards/art.

The Rider-Waite deck is always good for beginners. Although you can also find others and if soething else intrigues you, I suggest you get them. If you can find any occult stores in the area, they would probably carry them as well.
And if worse comes to worse, you could always make your own. It's more time consuming but also more personal.

But I only tend to use them on special occasions when I can't just read my deck of plain playing cards.
I actually have a website where you can create your own tarot cards out of a 52-deck of playing cards, which is how I started reading and found it great for a beginners deck.
I wrote the meanings on a the cards in sharpe and still use them today when I need a quick answer with no time to decipher it. And I use them with killer accuracy.
Would you like it?

http://www.alcyone.com/arcana/oracle.html
Here is the link. He also explains why he believes it works and a few spreads that were great to learn, like the celtic cross.
A deck of playing cards is like $1 at a DollarGeneral/Tree and a sharpe is about a $1 as well if none of them are just laying around your house. Plus with the sharpe, you can have any color your want and in fact can place some empowering colors in those cards if your up to it.
Please, Tell me if this helped or you liked it.

Madame Endora's Oracle, and the Tarot of Pirates! and i so want to get the tarot of princesses and there's a really pretty one that we got to look at that isn't due for public release until august...the name escapes me at the moment.

wow...this thread seems to have died. i would like to revive it, but in a slightly different way. i liked Runa's idea of a rune a day, so instead of discussing tarot in general, why don't we take a look at the meaning behind the cards? we'll go in order one card at a time and see what different ways people interpret each card.
lets start with the Fool shall we?
