How much further?
And if that's the case... -10 from 'History' into Elvaan.

The only required parts left are buying equipment and stat generation... The two unrequired parts left are the advantage/disadvantage system, and the limit break system kupo. (Don't worry about limit breaks though... you might wanna peek at advantages however.)

I'll read about advantage/disadvantage system, and work that out momentarily, whether I want those or not.
Now... buying equipment and stat generation, let's do those.

Okay kupo. Firstly, you must spend your attribute points into one of 6 stats. STR, VIT, SPD, AGI, MAG, and SPR. STR= strength VIT = Vitality SPD = speed AGI = agility MAG = magic SPR = spirit. You get 40 + (Level - 1) stats to spend into each of these. Study them carefully, as they do everything. Allocate your points how you see fit kupo, but you cannot exceed your job/Racial maximum allotted until you start leveling properly. Your maximum is the amount you can place in at the most, and your maximums are whatever the monk job's are and whatever the humans are (Humans have 10 in all as a max, so each are able to get at least 10) The better of the two stats overwrites the weaker as your max (For example, if your job allows only 8 SPR in a slot, but your race says 10, then the higher applies, in this case racial.)

I thought they were added to make a number you couldn't surpass under any circumstances?

Can't go above racial until you start leveling, but your personal maximum is indeed your job plus race as well as your character's absolute stat ceiling from attribute points. Both are 10? You can have 20 max in that attribute from level up attribute points. 30 is the absolute soft cap for stats, as in, you could have up to 10 points of bonus stats added to your maxed attribute of 20 before hitting the ceiling.

What exactly is meant by 40 (level - 1) points? I'm not particularly certain how to approach this at all... sweatdrop

That's the amount of points you have to spend on attributes.

The equation for how many points you can spend kupo. 40 + (Level - 1) Level meaning your characters level. It's just a math problem. In your case, 40 + (5 - 1) so 40 + 4. You have 44 points to spend on attributes.

Keep in mind, first 40 points can't exceed racial maximums. Last 4 points can.

Hm...
So, I can put as follows:
STR = 7 VIT = 7 SPD = 7 AGI = 7 MAG = 7 SPR = 5
for starters, and at L5 I choose to raise four of them? Say, STR, then AGI, then VIT, and then MAG?
So:
STR = 8 VIT = 8 SPD = 7 AGI = 8 MAG = 8 SPR = 5
Now, what about calculating HP?

HP = 30 + Vit + (Lvl-1)*(.5*Vit) + (Lvl)d(Hit Die). Remember your order of operations. (Lvl)d(Hit Die) simply means roll a number of dice equal to your level with your class' Hit Die, e.g. 5d8 for a Lv. 5 thief. You can raise an attribute once every two levels. Stops an outpouring of low levels with ridiculous damage attributes. Attribute Points can be banked, but only spent at level ups. Your normal cap can actually be broken, but costs double the attribute points until the soft cap of 30, but there's likely to be only one stat you'll need to break the stat cap with. Skill and Lore points however cannot be banked (without GM consent).

XenjinHattori rolled 5 12-sided dice:
12, 7, 10, 7, 2
Total: 38 (5-60)

So... I'll roll hit die at D12 for HP? Like so? Next post adding the numbers together?

30 + 7 + (4*3.5) + 38 = 37 + 14 + 38 = 89?
