"Of course I can." Eros grunted before finally giving up. His new plan: catch up to her and then splash.
When he wasn't flailing around, he actually could look decent in the water. Like most animals, swimming came naturally to him, and he glided towards Victoria. He wasn't as skilled as her, however, and couldn't get any closer to her.

"Hehe, slow poke!" she teased, splashing the water at him with her back legs as she swam quickly from his reach. "I thought a big bad boy like you could easily catch a little thing like me." she gave him the same wink he'd given her earlier today. She felt so much better about her self now that she found something that adult Eros couldn't gloat about.

Eros, feigning (spelled wrong, most likely) anger, proceeded to huff about. "You're smaller, meaning less water resistance." He knew this was true, and that he'd never catch her this way. Continuing to pretend to be mad, he dragged himself to land. He'd wait for her to come close, and then splash her, he thought.

She rolled her eyes at his grumpiness. "You can be some party pooper sometimes, you know that?" She swam around a few more laps, watching him and grinning teasingly like. After a while she began huffing.
"Bah.. this is so boring now." She sighed and swam swiftly to the edge of the water, ready to get out. "Help me, will ya?" she asked, trying to paw her way up the muddy slump. Her heavy wet fur now posed a problem. It was quite difficult getting out of the water.

Eros chuckled, but left it at that. When she finally started coming closer, he raised a paw with expectation, but stopped dead short at her words. He couldn't attack a female, especially one as pretty as her, when she asked for help.
Lowering his paw, he reached down and grabbed the scruff of her neck gently and pulled her up.

She helped him by digging her paws into the wet earth and using them as support as she lugged her body out. She sighed once she was on flat land and shook her fur out until it was semi-dry. Sighing again she laid down in the shade.
It was getting later than she would have guessed and now was exhausted. "Tired yet?" she asked with a small smile. Laying her head down on her folded paws, she let her eyes close. He wouldn't mind if she took a nap.. maybe he'd even join her. It wasn't much longer before she was swept under a sleeping curtain and was dozing in the warm shade as her fur dried from the soft breeze.

Eros, unlike Victoria, rested in the sun to dry out his fur faster. He thought she was one of the most beautiful helixes he had ever seen and he thought reluctantly of her father. From what he had seen, he didn't think the older male would let Victoria go off with anyone.
He tried to hide his problems and plastered a smile on his face when she looked at him. "Of course. Soaking wet always makes me eager for a nap." he teased. She drifted off to sleep soon after and he curled up beside her, hoping it would be okay, and trying to help them both warm up faster from the swim they went for just a few hours back.
