it is a great idea, but there are some issues such as trading or giving the items for those Soquili that are bonded with humans. Getting the items doesn't mean you have to keep it for your Soquili, and there could even be trade shops that are user run to do all the work for other users and they could exchange things such as gold and other materials to make some of the rarer items.

That would be very complicated to keep track of, but I can see how it would be done.

Of course there are also some Soquili that aren't bonded to humans, or will never bond to a human. What happens to them? No items/accessories? Perhaps the RP should take place as a Soq so that way they can get the needed ingredients for the items they may want.

So far, I really like the idea. However, it may need a way for a soquili to gain items without having an actual Native persona involved, since not all Soquili are 'bonded' or even trustful of the two leggers.

Which is where I think being allowed to trade or give items one collects would be of value: For example, 'Soquili A' has a soquili that collects and gathers things of value, and perhaps has a way to get things from natives. They get the ingredients for a feathery sundisk or a medicine pouch, and they can then enact a trade with 'Soquili B' for food of a specific type, things they may gather, or for services such as being a guide through an unfamiliar area. Or perhaps even just give to friends.

It would allow for more cross-player interactions, and the transaction of trading item from soquili to soquili should preferably be RPed, with how the soquili got said item to trade explained within it.

However, I also feel there should still be item stores: not everyone RPs or has time to RP. It should be made that those who RP and collect said items are able to get them much easier/cheaper then in item stores. Whether you want the stores 'stock' to be filled by those who collect but do not keep and can sell back to the store for a small amount of gold or for store credits (Like, say, if someone collects _____ amount of stuff, they get _____ points they could spend towards getting an extra points in their statistics, or perhaps if they save up enough they can use it to get an extra spot in a breeding raffle)


Or it could just be a defined stock in a regular shop handled fully by the colorist in charge, and not have that extra bit of store+Rper interaction. But it can also be a combination, such as there is more in stock if people trade it in.

I have always enjoyed the way Soquili was highly interactive, from the several -- an always growing -- styles of hair and the -- ever expanding -- breeds to choose, to the stats which are always fun to see growing. It's always seemed more lik an emporium to me. I think this Scavenger Hunt deal would be really fun, and just make the thread that much more interactive. It would allow for more games to be held -- items would be awarded -- and newbies would also be able to RP thier personas and trade the items for gold, extra tickets, or stat points. It's an excellent idea and whoever came up with it gets major Kudos.

I love this idea, first of all. It'll make Soquili more interactive and maybe get people active.

I think the "trade shops" should be few-several in numbers and stickied in the subforum. These trade shops will be run by a select number of users who can apply in another stickied thread in the subforum or such to get certification for such a shop. This way, the trading will be more controlled and can be supervised so no mistakes happen and transactions will be easier to keep track of. But these "traders" should be willing to buy items from users who are willing to sell as well and be responsible about the task so that everyone can sell their goods. Perhaps the shop owners will set their own prices to meet supply & demand rates.

My only concern would be opportunities to gather such items. I assume the store threads would be open at all times? <3 (This would allow for users from all timezones to participate. Simply switching days and times of the "window of opportunity" (perhaps an hour or so in which unlimited rolling would be allowed) would work as well, and would make managing the thread easier.)
It may be a good idea to instate "cool-down-times"... after attempting to gain a certain item and failing, a user/Indian Persona has to wait a certain amount of time before being allowed to try again.

If there is also a RP-able option to obtain such items, I believe that that should be offered in addition to the store-roll variety. Just to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to collect items/gems/etc. for their pets.

I think this sounds like a fun idea. Whether you have Soquili and/or a Native persona. It's going to be nice to find stat increasing items or whatever else gets introduced. 3nodding

It's an interesting idea, I'm curious though if this means there would be more opportunities to get accessories full stop as I am fairly sure the only one to have had slots for that open this year was Cele?

I think that availibilty would need to be sorted before you add a new dimension to a feature that has become hard to get.


I could always hire more people for the item shop so there would be more available to place items.

Wow this idea sounds a lot like Free Realms' creation of items. So it makes complete sense to me. I'm really excited to see this feature, very interactive compared to other run-of-the-mill B/C shops.

I especially love the idea of trading between indian personas! ;D


Is Free Realms a B/C shop? If so, I'm curious about their system so send me a link. XD

Yes that makes sense to limit the tries. That way people wouldn't roll numbers all day instead of participate in the main thread.

We could have main thread raffles often or just pick someone to receive a hard to get ingredient because they are active. It is a lot easier than making a pet, which could take hours, to reward someone.

Oh that makes sense to me. Perhaps 80% of the items could be for sale but a bit more pricier to encourage creating them but not limiting completely. 20% would be creation only. In Star Ocean you can buy a great deal of the items you can create but the rarer items can only be created.

I like the idea, but I have to agree with Ivory and Epine in the sense that, yes not everyone has humans, and not everyone has the time for it.

I think you can still do the scavenger hunt, either have it free, or with a lower value, and also sell the items in a shop for the people that can't do the hunts. Or have it where the horses can do the work them selves.

Like, a reg soq wouldn't kill but maybe they could barter with another horse that happens to have what they need, and then the people running the place that 'makes' everything into items have a horse that can deal with the other horses.

It definitely has potential. I can see both pros and cons to it - and a scavanger manager would be a must simply to keep folks from deleting & re-rolling over and over. Would there be a set # of attempts in each "hunt" for example?

I like the "hidden" combos. Esp. if we mix it up a bit so that what works for one won't work for another (say, a Gen 1 unicorn would get a bracelet from item 1 + item 2 while a Gen 3 uni would need item 2 and item 4). That would keep folks from sharing the secret! XD

As for the trading post not being open, now that things have settled in RL for me I am coming off my hiatus with mine and hope to be open regularly again! (in fact, there are a few open now!)


The new guild upgrade lets you see who is messing around with their posts. It is awesome, which is a reason I'd like to finally do this feature. It has been in my head a long time, you know. I didn't see it working because there wasn't a way for us to check if people were deleting posts. The SM will be a full crew member and able to check people's posts. I'm thinking of putting this feature in the Soquili Era RP guild actually.

Yes it could eventually lead to a whole new ingredient exchange subforum like Gaia has. Everyone would need to post their links of the ingredients they got to keep people from lying that they have generated or been awarded an ingredient .

I see the poll and in here has much more positive results than negative so I'm at a point where I see this feature as worth doing. I wouldn't want to spend time and gold employing folks to work on it with me if no one would bother with it. Maybe I should start small like someone else recommended with a few items being created in this method and then gradually do more if I see people actually playing.

I think this is a WONDERFUL idea. It means the shop is really extending past all normal b/c shops. Also, it would be really fun. I would think of it just a way to unwind at the end of the day and maybe get a cool item out of it.

Also, the trading of items idea sounds really cool. Maybe a thread where there's a form and people can post, "I have ______ and I'm looking for ______" and then people can respond in the thread or send a pm. Then in a seperate thread (so it doesn't get too cluttered) obviously in the end they would have to post something like, "I am giving (Username) this ______ in exchange for _____" And then the other person would quote that saying "I agree" or "I accept" or something. And maybe in their teepee they could have a post saying all their items and a link to prove they really have them, either linking to the post in the hunting/gathering/mining forum or to the trading forum where they traded for that particular item. That way to make it really easy they can just link to that post in their teepee when trying to change materials into an item at Harper and Cel's shop.

And as a suggestion for the people who don't like this idea and want just a regular shop where you can post orders, why doesn't this shop double as that? Only its not open ALL the time, maybe once a week or once every 2 weeks only offering 5 slots? 1 slot per person, 1 soquili per slot, maybe a limit on 2 items per soquili? Or 2 common items or 1 rare item. That way people like Ivory, who doesn't have enough time, or Epine, who's soquili don't have indian personas to gather stuff, can still get these really cool new items. And also, if someone is having a super tough time trying to get a really rare item, this could be their chance to get it.
