Mark sighed as he waited at the desk of an electronics shop. He had a job as co-manager at the shop, and he was sitting in the chair, looking up the latest robery's on the internet news. Mark frowned as on the news they were talking about roberies that were on the same street as his shop. Mark smirked as he looked out through the glass door and window's at the shop across the street, it was said money was pouring in. " A good place to get some dough " he thought.

User ImageMia laughed aloud as she sped through the city on her Streetfighter Ducati, reveling in an other job well done. She had just finished an assassination of a Marlboro C.E.O in his cozy little office at the top of a tall skyscraper outlined in the New York city line. Quick and easy! she exclaimed in her head as she pulled a wheely through an intersection and sped on to her work. How much easier can it get? she cockily wondered while running a red light and receiving a few angered honks and yells from drivers. She paid no mind to them and continued to zoom on, breaking as many traffic violations as possible to get to her job on time.

Mia worked at an eighteen and over bar in downtown New York whenever she was in town; being a well-known bartender for tricks and looks certainly gave you special privileges. But even past all of her privileges, she knew that if she was late one more time, they would all go down the drain. "Aw, whatever, that ol' man loves me. He'll let it go if it happens again, I bet," she mused aloud in her helmet as she drove down an alley and parked her bike. "Besides, I'm on time this time," she stated as she pulled her full-faced, black helmet off of her head and shook out her hair.

She walked over to a door in the alley that she had parked next to, and unlocked it before walking in to her work. "Hey, Rex! I'm here on time for once!" she exclaimed as she placed her helmet down under the time clock and clocked in.

"Oh my god, the world's going to end!" Rex, her boss, shouted jokingly as he walked up to her and gave her a hearty hug.

"Oh my god, you're so funny," she sarcastically retorted as she hugged him back before taking her leather jacket off to reveal a fitted black v-neck.

"I know, and you're looking good today," Rex complimented, noting her regular "uniform" which consisted of her black v-neck, skinny dark gray jeans, and stiletto black boots.

"And you're still not getting a kiss from me, dork," she laughed, leaving a wallowing Rex in the dust to go set up for the night rush.

User ImageJoel rushed to his flat in upper east side New York, returning from his college classes. As usual, his arms were packed with the books he couldn't fit in his packed carrier which hung on his side heavily. It was a wonder that he didn't walk at a constant tilt with the sheer weight of that bag.

"Crap, I don't think I'll be able to do that mission tonight," he worried as he evaluated all of the homework that he needed to get done in his head. As a college student, he still had responsibilities other than wreaking havoc on the Christian/Catholic church, but he knew that this would be the case when he continued on with his education after high school. He also had to worry about his part time job at a ritzy book and cafe store on fifth avenue.

"Excuse me, sir!" Joel heard a quaint voice call him from behind. With careful steps as to not drop the books in his arms, he turned to view a tiny girl holding up a large book. "I'm sorry to bother you, sir, but this book fell out of your bag," she explained with a soft and innocent expression.

"Thanks," Joel replied monotonically, grabbing the book with his free hand while his other balanced books.

"No problem, mister,"
the girl replied not so innocently before, slightly creeped out by the lack of expression in Joel's face.

Joel merely nodded to her, to try and relieve her tenseness, before turning and continuing his walk to his apartment, running over all of the tasks he had to complete tonight in his head.

Damn, it's gonna be an other all-nighter.

Bobby Baker sat on the roof of a corner liquor store, watching the traffic pass. It hadn't been too long ago, less than a year, when he had been watching the traffic just like this with his friends. They were both dead now, and Bobby feared he soon would be.
T44, that's what the gang called themselves, he had learned. They were never caught, or hardly ever. Those who did see anything always ended up dead. Except for Bobby, that is. He was too fast for them, could out run their bullets if given the chance. Maybe. But, he wasn't too keen on finding out, either.
Bobby took another bite of the candy he'd pinched for the store bellow. It was easy to shoplift when your hand was nothing but a blur. It was the only way he'd eat, nowadays. Not many job prospects when you're on the run for your life.

[[ 'ooc Hey, could I possibly change Kaoru's powers? I just thought of something else I'd rather have him do lol ]]

Aiko's hands reached out, feeling the fabric of his jacket. "Hikaru... Where are we going?" she asked him, her voice soft as she grasped gently onto his sleeve, allowing herself to be pulled along. it was three years to the day that she and her brother had been on planet Earth... And although it was not her home and she missed her parents dearly, she liked it here. And Hikaru knew that.

Therefore, every year, he had done something to celebrate their first arrival there... And it had always been something done for her out of the kindness of his heart... A nice picnic on a hillside in the middle of the night and he told her of every star he could see, telling her stories of them. The other one was a beach at sunset... She still remembered the warmth of the rays, the smell of the salty ocean. In ways she hoped he would do the same for her this year, but she knew it would be something different.

Kaoru smiled at his little sister, patting his head. "You'll find out soon enough," he said as he grabbed her jacket, draping it over her shoulders. He then reached over, taking hold of the umbrella and grabbing hold of her hand. "You trust me, right?" he asked her and laughed, opening the front door, hearing the rain outside. "Perfect weather, too," he said with a smile as he opened up the umbrella, shading the two, draping his arm over her shoulder in a most protective way.

Alexius stared at Sarah. Her mother was snoozing on the couch, cuddled up in a blanket that had bears on the fabric, snuggled into the cushions in an oblivious manner. Alex blinked once or twice, then turned to Lilan, who handed her a bucket full of H2O.

Alex and Lilan were very quickly around the corner, watching as Sarah sat up, spluttered, and looked for her attacker. Unfortunately, the woman laid back down.

"Ten m're min'its..."

Alex grabbed the blanket in an attempt to pull it from her mother. Her mother pulled back. "Come ON! You're already late!"

"Time is irrelevant."

"Come on, you can't sleep in a puddle!"

"I am a mermaid."

"Like HELL you are!"

"I don't have work today."

"Lies, all lies!" Alex gave up on the blanket and ran to the kitchen, returning in a few seconds with a cup of coffee in her hand. She knew what it was. Her mother did not.

"What is..."

"A magic drink that will turn you back into a human. Now, drink! Don't make me hold your nose again!"

Three magic drinks later, a panicked Sarah was racing through the apartment, pulling on a button-up shirt and trying to talk through the bagel that was in her mouth. "PHMGRMPHG!"

Alex was calmly sitting at the table, checking the homework she had done last night, before she turned it in to her mother. "It's on the counter." She called to her disgruntled guardian without looking up.

"GMBPHLPHMPH?!"

"To your left. Your other left."

"Blmph..."

"Yeah, yeah, yeah. By the way, you never gave me the math assignments for today."

Sarah had, by now, removed the bagel from her mouth, and when she finished chewing, she turned to her daughter. "Study from page 24 to 36, and you'll have a quiz when I get home." She came up from behind and gave Alex a squeeze around the shoulders, plus a kiss on the cheek. "Study hard, 'lil missus. Love you."

Alex blushed. She was always awkward when her mother got mushy. "Love you too, mum. Now hurry up or you'll miss the train."

"Aw, I've got another..." Sarah checked her watch. "...no minutes. Love you hon! I'll see you tonight! There's instant ramen above the flour if you want it for lunch. Bye!" And with that, Sarah was out of the house. Just for effect, she hurried down the stairs, out the apartment building, and hailed a taxi. A small pair of eyes, hard to see from the 14th floor where she and her daughter lived, peered out from the back of her neck to see Alex staring at her. 'good thing I followed through, then.' The eyes disappeared, and she climbed into the taxi, holding her bag on her lap. "The train station, please." And with that the cab sped away.

Alex stared after her mother. Sometimes, she almost yearned to go to school, the place her mother returned to, day after day. But then she remembered Lucy... "Little brat." She mumbled, just remembering the blond who had kicked her down a hill, causing her broken arm. She stared at her forearm. It was slightly crooked. It hadn't ever healed quite right. Sighing, Alex turned back to her room to change. She couldn't sit around in her mother's V-neck and a pair of boxers all day.

She ended with what she seemed to wear every day: blue jeans, socks, and T-shirt of any color. Today it was black with red swirls. She was really glad it was out of the wash, because it was her favorite shirt. Any shirt that was both black and red was a good shirt, as she saw it. Examining herself in her mirror, she had to say, it was good. Instinctively, she patted down a cowlick, then patted her chest to see if it was growing any. It wasn't, so she sighed and walked back out into the main apartment. She waved to Lilan, then walked to the door, where she put on and laced up a pair of black converse sneakers. As she began to exit the house, she could feel Lilan grab at her shirt. She rolled her eyes in exasperation. "Fine, I'll get my jacket." Turning back into the house, she muttered, "It's not even that cold..."

A few moments later, Alex had on a white zip-up hoodie and a purple shoulder bag gracing her once-plain figure. As she actually managed to leave the house, she turned back to the shadow-creature. "Hey, Lilan. You wanna come?" It did something like shaking it's head. Alex sighed. "OK, have it your way. I'll be back soon." 'as soon as I finish practicing my magic.' With that, she turned and jogged down the sidewalk, her shoulder bag bouncing on her hip every step she took.

Cameron woke with a start as she heard a loud, angry knock on her door. She pulled her body out of her bed and brushed her light hair out of her eyes. She noticed her sword laying near her bed and quickly shoved it under the bed and walked to the door. She opened the door quickly, without even thinking of checking who was on the other side. Unhappily, she found her landlord, Cathy waiting for her. "What the hell do you want?" Cameron asked furiously as she rubbed her eyes. "I haven't gotten last month's rent from you." Cathy stated her case quickly. Cameron grunted, this was the fourth time this year she'd missed a payment. "Can't ya wait an extra damn week?" Cameron retaliated, knowing she was lucky she still had her apartment. Cathy frowned and said, "Cameron if I can't get the payment in a couple of days I'm gonna have to evict you." Cameron was shocked, she never thought it would come to this. "Come on, Cathy! I'm outa work, you know that." Cameron wanted to beat Cathy dead, but only for a moment before she pushed the thought away. "I'll be on the streets if I get kicked outa here." she knew that it wasn't Cathy's fault, she was doing what she had to do to make end's meat. "Sorry Cameron, best I can do is give you four days." Cathy said before walking away quickly, to avoid further confrentation. Cameron was absolutly furious, she slamed the door, nearly taking it off the hindges. Immediatly, thunder pounded outside her window and it began to pour. The weather would often follow her evil moods. She slumped down into her bed and cursed herself.

Kikyo was still at her desk, drawing a simple scenery. It was supposed to be a few hills and a sun, but she couldn't get it quite right. She ripped the page out in frustration, and started over. Still not good. She let out an annoyed sigh, and pushed her chair away from her desk.
"I'm leaving for about ten minutes..." she said out-loud, as she started to wander the cave. She was looking for a way out.

Blade jumped when the bell rang.
"Ah!" he said, as he started to gather his stuff together. He stood up, waved to the teacher and raced out of the room before any questions could be asked about his spacing out. He raced to his locker, grabbed his messenger bag, and burst through the doors out of the building.
"Finally! It's the weekend!" he said, as he started walking home. Nali was supposed to let him go play super hero with her this weekend.

Nali's watch beeped slightly, and the two people whirled around.
"S**t..." she muttered, trying to hide her watch. The two started to step towards her hiding spot, and she jumped up. "So, you fell for my trap!" she said, trying to sound convincing. She looked at the two with a smirk. The pair, cringed back, and turned to run. Nali followed with silent foot steps.

((Depends, what do you want to change them to?))

Alex stuck her hands in the pockets of her hoodie and shivered. Maybe it had been a good idea to wear it after all. She'd slowed to a walk, and was just sort of plodding along in the direction the small graveyard that was in their suburbs part of the town. It was almost always empty, the perfect place to do homework or, in her case, practice magic. Especially with all the ghosts around. Unfortunately, some people apparently had other plans for her.

"Hey, little lady. Are you just walking home?" A small group of five men had blocked her way.

Alex didn't have time for their shenanigans, so she just glowered at them. "No, actually. I was on my way to..." She had a lie within half a second. "...Pay my respects to my uncle. Now if you would please move aside..." Alex made a sweeping movement with her hand, as if that would push them all to the side.

Unfortunately for Alex, one of the men caught her by the wrist, and showed no signs of letting go. "Hey, missus. A temper like that could cause you a lot of-" he squeezed her wrist hard, as if he was trying to crack it. "-Pain, huh?"

The wrist squeeze hurt, and Alex gave out a little cry of pain to go along with the twitch of her hand. She tried to pull her hand away, but failed. "Why won't you let go? What did I ever do to you?" She glanced up at the dark clouds for a moment, feeling a fat raindrop explode on her nose.

The man holding her smirked. "Worried about getting wet? Well, I'll give you more than that to worry about." He twisted Alex's wrist back, a cruel light shining in his eyes.

Alex let out another cry, this one louder than the other. She glared at the man. "That hurt, a*****e!" As he smirked, and probably said something about making it hurt more, she glanced into the graveyard through the fence to see a Ripper staring empty-eyed at her, jaw hanging loosely from the rest of it's face.

"...Look at me when I'm talking to you!" The man threw a punch across Alex's face, but this time she didn't squeal. She made eye contact with the Ripper again, then cocked her head towards the men. It understood.

The man was suddenly off her, screaming bloody murder, and suddenly, everyone could see the dead creature of the shattered skin and sunken eyes. While the five men tried to fight the thing, Alex took off towards the graveyard, this time safely making it through the gate. She didn't turn back to see how they were fairing against the Ripper. If they weren't pros, and they weren't, there wasn't much they could do until they got more help, which, judging by the empty road, wasn't coming any time soon. One of them would probably die. Alex tried to feel bad about that, then cringed at the pain of her wrist. It was probably cracked somewhere.

Alex glanced up at the sky. It was raining hard now. Sighing, she pulled up her hood and headed towards a tree to take shelter under. If it started to thunder, she'd head back. Not the same way. If the Ripper was still there, it would go after her. So it was safer just to stay here, under the tree.

Kikyo found a door, and reached for a knob. She wrapped her hands around the knob, and started to turn it. Locked.
"Darn..." she muttered, as she put her right hand up. In that hand appeared a throwing dagger. She put the pointed end in the key hole, and she made a sword in the other hand. She slowly and carefully slid the blade down the crack between the door and wall. A few seconds of wiggling the dagger and a moment later she heard an almost silent click.

Kikyo smirked, and made the weapons disappear. She turned the knob, and stepped into the rain. She felt her black clothes start sticking to her body, and she looked up at the sky.
"What is this?" she asked herself, shivering slightly.

Nali lost the thieves and groaned. She walked into a public restroom, and changed back into her normal lab coat, tube-top and shorts. She brushed her bangs from her eyes, and put on her wire frame glasses.
"Gotta get to class." she said, running through town, her hair trailing behind her. Her feet were now tapping against the ground, as she felt rain start falling on her.
"Not now..." she said, running faster.

Blade got home faster than normal, and managed to avoid the school bullies. He let out a sigh of relief, and dropped his stuff on the sofa, and walked to his room.

Aaron was currently Plauge, and Plauge was currently attacking a police precinct to remove any possibility of his next plan being stopped by these useless humans. He stared at the police officer who was growing limp in his grasp. He gabbed another one and killed him as well. Plauge took even breaths into his gas mask that prevented the disease spreading into the air from his skin from infecting him. He grabbed two more officers and drained them of their life. Plauge dropped them and looked around. The entire building was in an uproar. People on the bottom floor were choking on their own blood thanks to the disease in the air and the people on he top floor were starting to feel the effects of it, severe coughing and headaches. None of them had even thought to go for their guns. Plauge heard the news from the television in the room. The heros would be there soon, meaning he had to hurry.

Alex looked up from the bench where she sat under the tree, the rain from the leaves dripping onto her hood. She had been humming 'Raspberry Heaven', but stopped when she saw the girl walk out of what she was pretty sure was a crypt. Panicked that it might be a recently changed (and therefore confused) vampire, she stood up and turned to go, hoping not to be noticed. Something stopped her, though. The girl didn't have the aura of a dark one. And she seemed to be confused about the rain, not the fact that the rain was hardly cold anymore.

Alex peered back at the girl, then turned back and continued to sneak out once more. No matter if it was a zombie or a vampire or whatever, she didn't want to be around it when it realized it was alive again.

~!~

Sarah stared at herself in the women's bathroom mirror. She'd shaped her body to be younger and her hair to be longer. It was perfect now. Smirking, she left the room, now dressed in fairly inappropriate leather clothing.

From a window nearby, she peered down at the passersby. She chose a particularly rich-looking target, formed large, raven-esque wings(It was just part of the look. People just expected black wings nowadays.), and soared down, grabbed the man, and hauled him off.

"OK, sir, now just hand over all the money you got in your wallet and I won't have to hurt you." The man was quick to hand over the entire wallet and run off towards his wife and kids. Sarah checked the money in the wallet, and smiled in a satisfied manner. There was enough just in this wallet to feed her and Alexius for a week, not to mention everything else she'd saved until now.

Kikyo spotted a figure trying to run off, and she brought her left arm up slowly. A hand reached out of the ground, and grasped Alex's ankle. Another appeared next to it, ready to grab her ankle if the other arm were to fail. Kikyo sped up, trying to get to Alex before she disappeared possibly forever.

Nali heard a news report when she was almost to school. She sighed.
"I've missed too much class as it is..." she muttered, turning away from the T.V. "I'll give the other heroes a chance to do something..." she then took off for her school again, knowing the lecture she was sure to get for being late. Again.

Blade was listening to the T.V while doing his homework. He heard the reporter, and sighed.
"Maybe Nali will be too busy, what with school and saving people..." he muttered, looking over his Science homework one last time, before starting his English.

Cameron sucked up her emotions and clicked on the T.V. She took in the images of a horrific scene at the police precinct. Plauge was a new male villian Cameron hadn't had the pleasure of meeting yet. She watched the T.V. for another moment to get the jist of his powers then ripped off her pajamas. She pulled on her silver armor and wrapped her cape around her shoulders quickly. She brushed her hair back and slipped her sword into its sheilth. She pushed her window open and jumped out into the rain gliding into the air smoothly. She slowed the heavy drops to a soft drizzle.

As she came closer to the building she could sense a great evil presence. She could tell that Plauge brought great danger to her, and all the people he was infecting. With her quick thinking she changed the wind current to blow the terrible airborn disease away from her, so she could get the villian away from the poor people. She walked to the door of the building, since it was wide open and saw him inside. The gas mask on his face made him look just as much more evil. "Come out and face me!" Cameron, now dressed as Silver screamed over the howl of the wind all around her. She saw the dead and choking bodies around the room and she became very angry towards the killer. What did he have to gain from this? She was determined to stop him and save as many people as she could.
PostPosted: Wed Jul 22, 2009 10:48 pm

Plauge frowned at Silver, his face below his eyes unseen because of his gas mask, "Why should I? How have you survived the disease in the air? You should be coughing up blood like the people upstairs." his eyes twinkled, "Ah well, you may present a challenge, come on then, let's get this over with." his voice was cold with a slight hint of excitement. He had never tried his powers against another super being, for all he knew all his powers through skin contact would do is knock this girl out. He stopped emitting the disease so he wouldn't pass out in the middle of the fight and turned all the way toward her. Plauge smirked under his mask.

Cameron snarled, she noticed he had stopped spreading the disease into the air, so she let the wind die down in a moment. She braced herself and tightened her muscles. She tilted her head back and forth to crack her neck before she spoke. "This is your last chance. Leave now or I'll tear you apart." her anger was building and her nerves were going to explode if she didn't get to fight him soon. She locked eyes with him and waited for him to make a move.
