Jade's eyes widened slightly when she realised just what it was she had said. A slight red blush of embarassment rose to her cheeks, visible just the slightest bit beneath her white fur.
She took half a step towards him and sat down so that they were face to face. She was silent- it was a silence long and heavy enough that if it wasn't already, this moment would have been terribly awkward.
Finally she cocked her head to one side, both of her ears flopping over to the left side of her head and she let out a little sigh. "I, um..." she wanted to apologise, but it was true; she wasn't little. So instead she asked, "What do I call you, then?"
Was it "father"? Or was it still "Blade"? The truth was, she was as lost for words as he was, but silence wasn't as unusual for Jade.

He was taken aback by her question, and had to blink a few times before he even registered that he should be offering her an answer. This was definitely a situation that he had not planned on encountering today.
His brow furrowed again as he thought about what she said, and when he finally came to a conclusion he looked into his daughter's eyes a moment and then spoke softly, "You may call me whatever you are most comfortable, Jade Storm. Father, if you wish... or Blade if you're not comfortable with giving me a title. I'm not even sure I deserve such a title. I understand if you'd rather just call me a friend. I won't be hurt by either, my dear." He stretched his neck forward and nuzzled her cheek gently before pulling back to look at her once more and receive her reaction.

Mirroring his action, Jade's brow furrowed- and though it was in confusion, it was very likely it didn't appear that way. She was not sure what it was she wanted to call him, really; Nor was she used to affection, considering she tended to shy away from others.
So, while she didn't immediately conclude what it was she wanted to do, her expression softened and her eyes re-focused on the buck sitting in front of her.
"Um..." she sort-of began, "Then I think- at least for now- I will call you Blade. But," and she paused, blinking rapidly a couple times, "I do not have a nickname for you to call me."

The buck waited patiently for his daughter to think and come up with an answer. Why he had never assumed that one day he may come across one of his own litters, he did not know, and now found himself thinking he was foolish. But what was one to do?
She would accept Blade, and that was more than enough for him. A small smile found it's way onto his features when she gave her answer. Acceptance was more than what he thought he deserved, and so he would not argue and just take what he was given. Taking a moment to think, he offered, "Perhaps, then I could offer you one? That is... if you'd like to take it. I would say a fitting nickname could be, Tempest. How do you like that?" His smile grew a little as if he were trying to sell this name, but it was no where in his place to try to impose anything on this doe that he had never seen before, so he just left it at that.

She seemed to silently consider for a moment, her attention not quite 100% on Blade. "I think I do." She eyed his smile and felt her mouth curl at the edges, a small smilling overtaking her as well, "Tempest." she nearly whispered, mostly to herself.
Not only did she have a nickname, now- it was given to her by her father!
For whatever reason, Jade was absolutely delighted by it all. She rose onto all fours and took a small step closer to him, her tail swishing back and forth in a steady rhythm.
"Perhaps then..." a sudden shyness overcame her again but, ignoring it as best she could, she continued, "Perhaps we could go find something to eat..." she trailed off, unsure what to add but sure he understood none-the-less.

Her returned smile made Movement fill up with happiness and smile all the wider. For the first time in his life, he thought he understood what others meant when they said, 'Warm and fuzzy inside.' He felt that sort of sensation right then, as if all of his insides were suddenly warmer and had spontaneously grown fur and was now tickling him all over. It was the oddest feeling in the world.
Her proposition came as a surprise, but right then, anything would have. The expression of shock wore off his face quickly, though, and he mirrored her motions, also standing up on all fours and bringing his head up proudly. He was going to spend some quality time with his daughter, starting with dinner. "That sounds like a wonderful idea, Tempest." He spoke softly, and there was some sort of twinkle in his eye that even he couldn't explain better than happiness.
