A familiar looking ball of purple-haired energy darted across the park's green grass, skidding to a stop near the group. She looked around the group, smiling brightly despite looking exhausted. Her hair was messy, looking rather wind-blown, more than likely from her running.
"Hey everyone!" she greeted, her voice high and breathless, but none-the-less cheerful. She looked around, seeing a couple familiar faces and more than a few new ones. Yay, new people! A box of doughnuts was held loosely in her arms, and the backpack that hung from her back looked heavy.
"Sorry I'm late." she apologized, offering a small smile. "I had to run a few errands around town and invitations to finish delivering, and had to grab some numnums for the party." She lifted the doughnuts up for emphasis.

Todd turned his head to the sound of a younger voice. Oh, this was a girl, wasn't it? He tilted his head from side to side, nostrils flaring at the new arrival, mouth partly open. He wasn't going to lunge, though- he was perfectly full and he didn't want Da to yell at him again for biting. Biting was bad...even if it was kind of fun.
"Alome. Aloooome." he echoed, getting a feel for the name. He liked it. It was almost as good as his name. "I's Todd." he said, beaming happily. He liked meeting new people...so many new sounds and names and smells.
Cris laughed a little at Maru's wince. "He's a smart a--leck." he said, catching his language quickly. There were a few levels to being careful about what you said in the presence of kids, it seemed. "And thanks, he's less creepy than some of the stiffs I work around..." he laughed. He looked towards the girls, still a little hesitant to let the boy have free run so soon. Maybe if he kept a real good eye on him, he could let the boy be free range... Maybe later, yeah. After he could get a feel for how his ward interacted with the other children.

Thali gave Maru a smile, before turning to look at Cris. Her smile faded as she thought about what he said. He was teasing her, wasn't he? She offered a smile, before turning back to the table. She had to finish before anyone else showed up. She carefully set a plate of chocolate chip cookies onto the table before anything else could distract her--or worse, make her drop it.
Samantha sighed, and toddled after her friend. " 'Lome!" She protested. "Play wiff me!" She paused, as she looked at Todd. "Ooo got cuwties?" She asked, tilting her head slightly. If he had cooties, she wouldn't play with him. But if he was like Josh and Vinny, and didn't--she would feel bad for not playing with him. Her thoughts were interupted by a familar face. "KITTY!" She cried, racing towards Jaella. The freckled toddler wrapped her arms around the teenager's legs. "I missed ooo!"
Reiya had followed her sister, and was looking up at the teenager. "Where Dawcy?" She asked, fingering the necklace the orange haired girl had given her. "Where Aawon?"

"Oh~ Todd! I wuve that name!" Alome exclaimed, giggling a bit before comming a little closer. Granted, today was the first time she heard that name, but she did really like the sound of it. It just.. Rolled off the tounge. She noticed Todd didn't look directly at her, as she had fluttered around a few times and flew up a bit to pat his head. "Can Toddy see me?" She asked, petting his head a few times.

Oh, more people! He tilted his head from left to right when asked about his cootie status. He SO didn't have cooties! Girls got cooties! Everyone knew that! He wrinkled his nose.
"Naw, I ain't gots cooties. Girls gots cooties!" he retorted as the girl retreated.
He seemed pleased that Alome liked his name too, though. "Is good name!" he agreed happily. He liked this Alome girl. He twitched a little as he was suddenly pet on the head- it was a good thing he already knew someone was nearby. Had it been entirely a surprise, his reflexive response to such contact would have been to bite. "Dark, dark dark. Can't see nothin'." he responded. He knew other people could 'see' and he knew he couldn't...not that he was very bothered about it. He had always been this way. "But I's can smell weaaaaaally good!" That was another thing he knew- that he could smell much better than other people. It was a nice little victory.

"Cooties..?" Alome tilted her head a bit and looked at herself. "Alome has cooties 'cause she's a girl?"
She looked saddened for a moment, but she immediately recovered, taping Todd's nose. "So.. Toddy can smwell weally good! Dat's soo coolio~" She laughed sweetly at the word, since she heard her father say it far too often.
"Daddy said Alome smells like.. Um.. Sunshine and gwiggles. And It okay Toddy can't see. It just make him more coolio~ He's a coolio big boy!" The little winged child took Todd's hand in hers and gently led him closer to Cris, tugging on the man's pants.
"Can I pway wid Toddy? I wanna go over der," She pointed to a big tree not to far away, "To smell new smells wid Toddy, But Toddy is tied down.. Can I has Toddy?"

Jaella smiled, leaning down to hug the younger girl in a one-armed embrace. "Hey Sammi!" she said, giggling and standing back up. "How have you been? I missed you too." She headed off to set the doughnuts down and empty the contents of her back-pack, pulling out can after can of Monster Energy drink. "Mom and Dad couldn't make it; Mom's tired, and Dad wanted to make sure she was okay. I'm sure they'll be able to make it next time, though. Doughnuts?" She offered the sugary pastries to the twins, since they were closest.

Sammi smiled and hugged Jaella. She frowned slightly as the teenager said how 'No' and 'Mine' hadn't been able to make it. The freckled toddler was still waiting for the promised necklace Darcy owed her--and she wasn't likely to forget that. She took the doughnut happily. Instead of eating it, she slipped it onto her finger. She took a bite, before looking back at Todd. "No cuwties?" She asked, looking relieved. She toddled back over to the boy. "I no got cuwties."
Reiya was quick to take a doughnut as well, but seemed more disappointed about Darcy and Aaron not being there than her sister was. She frowned, and looked up at Jaella. She had a flower clutched in her fist. "Give dis to Dawcy," She said, "Pwease. "

Suddenly there were a sequence of loud sounds from outside the house. They sounded just like something running into several garbage cans, followed by a screech of tires and the slamming of car doors. A couple of seconds later the door bell rang about seven times and a man's voice could be heard yelling from outside.
"Dammit Clara! How many times do I have to tell you? RING ONCE AND WAIT A MINUTE! It isn't polite!"
"WELL WHAT IF THEY DIDN'T HEAR US?!" Was the screeching reply.
Immediatly after the screech a chilling howl came through the walls, it wasn't completely animalistic but it still wasn't human. It rang through the house until it ceased seconds later. Then the man's voice came through stronger than ever.
"NO SETH! Now they'll probably think we're crazy people!"
"Um...Spencer. We are crazy people..."
"Thank you Chrissy for your wonderful comment! Now be quiet and just wait!"
And then it was quiet.

Jaella took the flower, nodding. "I promise I'll give it to her." she sadi, smiling and tucking the offered flower behind her ear. She looked up as she heard the commotion, darting over to greet the guests.
"Hello!" she greeted, smiling brightly. "Come on; the party's just getting started!" She motioned the new group onward, smiling. Yay, new peoples! "We're all a little mad here." she said, quoting her favorite Disney movie before laughing a little.

Well. She seemed nice...maybe she didn't have cooties. Maybe. He'd still have Da draw a bath once he got home just to be sure he didn't pick up anything here, though! He didn't want girl cooties...yuck!
The boy snorted a bit when she touched his nose and for a moment, he almost snapped out with his jaws. He caught himself, though, his muscles only twitching slightly. Oh, this was hard! He stuck his chew ring back in his mouth and gnawed at it a bit. Next, he sniffed at the girl and tilted his head. Sunshine and giggles? Was that what he smell was called? He wasn't sure, but if a grown-up said so...maybe she was right.
Todd was pleased his super-scenting abilities were being praised, though, and he grinned around his chew toy. "Coolio...yeah!" he agreed, allowing himself to be led back. He swiveled his head to Sammi when she affirmed she didn't have cooties either. He furrowed his brow in thought as he debated on whether to believe her or not- girls were tricksy creatures, after all! But he'd believe her for now...
"No cooties, no way!" he restated emphatically. With that matter taken care of, his sniffed the air and reached out, finding his guardian's pantleg and likewise tugging, looking upwards. "Wanna plaaaaay!"
Cris looked at the young girl that was demanding his attention and then to his ward. He thought on the matter a moment, rubbing his chin. Todd seemed to like the little one and he had his chewie ring...and he'd been fed beforehand... Maybe it would be alright for a little. He crouched down and undid the harness the boy had been wearing.
"Alright." he said, somewhat tentatively. He smiled a little as well. "Be careful, though. He can't see like you and me." he warned the two girls, for good measure.

Once the door flew open the group outside had the look of "OHMYGODTHEYACTUALLYOPENEDTHEDOOR!" and were hesitant to walk in.
But that all changed when a yip was heard and Seth came running into the house like he had just seen a ghost. Clearly he had forgotten that he was scared of people and running into several caused him even more stress.
Although the little dog boy quickly found himself a corner to curl up in much to the embarrasment of his father, Spencer who rushed in after Seth only to find his son whimpering in a ball away from the others. Letting out a deep sigh of pure irritation he looked to see how the other three were doing.
Clara, Chrissy and Milo were all still standing by each other at the front door. Clara was laughing and pointing at Seth while Chrissy and Milo just stared at her with furrowed brows.
Spencer also shot a look at Clara which only made her laugh even more. Giving into defeat he looked to Jaella and forced a tired smile to his face. "Yes...But I for one think we are the most mad..." He mumbled.

Ben sat up scowling as he heard the commotion. He looked to Luke for assistance, and then to his wife. Why did she have to invite noisy people? Of course, Sammi and Reiya could have been considered 'noisy people' but they were his..
Thali seemed to notice her husband's distress, and rolled her eyes. Instead of going to sooth him, she went over to the noisemakers themselves. "Hello, I'm Thali." She said pleasantly. "I'm glad you were able to make it. Seth, right?" She looked to the little wolf-boy in the corner. "My two are over there, if you want to play with them." She gestured to her twins.
Sammi smiled at the reassurance that he didn't have cooties. "Kay. I play wiff ooo. But if have cuwties--and ooo lie, I tell my Mommy." She threatened him. Telling a parent was one of the worst things a toddler could do to another.
Reiya frowned as Jaella went away, but then made her way towards her mother. She was still toddling rather clumsily, as toddlers were prone to doing--but she had a determined look on her face. She was planning something.

Alome let out a squeal of happiness as Todd was unhooked, taking his hand and smiling happily at Cris. "Dank you, Toddy's daddy!! I take good care of him!" She then lead Toddy to the tree, which was near the water of a near by pond, but not that close.
"Does Toddy wanna catch fwogs wid me? I knows you can't see, but if I find one, and hold it up to you, you cans sniffs it, and find more, since you can smell weally good. But daddy says if yous touch fwogs, you gets warts, so I's got gloves too! But.. Dats only if you want to." Alome giggled, and looked around, seeing if anyone else wanted to play with her. She saw a little boy in a corner, and wanted to talk to him, but.. She was with Toddy, and she promised Toddy's daddy that she would take care of him. So when Todd got bored with her, she'd go talk to him too.
Alome hated seeing people sad.. And her, still being an 'infant' didn't quite get the concept of cooties, or what makes boys and girls different. What she did get is that she wanted everyone to smile and everyone to be nice. But as we all know.. That's not always going to happen..

Jaella blinked as the little grey one darted past her, a perplexed look spreading across her face. "Aww...." she said, frowning. The little one looked scared. But why was the girl laughing? It wasn't funny.....was it? She then offered a small smile to Spencer. "Nah. I think we're all equally crazy." She said, giggling and knocking on her own her gently with a lightly closed fist.
