There would be some people in this situation that wouldn't be disgusted and vomiting. The crowd, and the editors. The crowd would begin to laugh as the two adolescents lost their s**t, their gastral pyrotechnics taking precedence ahead of their fight. Pip was embarrassed, but would only be more so if he could see the screens that would be showing at home. On there would be images of his first fight, him doing the exact same thing and later his opponent falling in it. That had been gross.

And now the two youngest fighters were getting ready to do it again.

The fire light wasn't great, but it was enough for Pip to pick out the mis-colored sand at both of the boys' feet. The smell let him know that it was still there for sure. Pip almost followed Link's lead when that smell hit him, but he held back and merely started walking away from the moist ground, walking to his left.

He was walking towards both the center of the former ring of fire, and towards the fires.

"Sorry."

He would say, voice rasping as only one can after vomiting without water nearby. He would do his best to pitch his voice so that it could be heard over the jeers of the crowd. He usually didn't initiate communication, but this felt like an appropriate time.

Once he was well away from the puke, about twenty feet into the semi-circle of fire, he would turn to make sure his young opponent had followed. Pip hadn't left to get to a place with more light. No, he had rather left to a place that smelled good again. And he had gone far enough that a change in the winds wouldn't bring too much of that stench after them.

Now.

Now the smile would come, a little piece of peanut brought back from the beyond attached to his vertical incisor. His feet wouldn't be in any fighter's stance, but rather would simply be shoulder-width apart and square to wherever Link was approaching from, if Pip could even see the young lad. His arms would be held at his hips as they seemed to always be.

The interesting part would be his mind. After that explosion of violence he wasn't about to open it up again, and because he had recently emptied his psychic well, it would be uncomfortable to try filling it again (the analogy that comes to mind is eating after having thrown up) but at the same time he would need some help against the giant sword.

He had already taken a direct hit from a polearm. He didn't want to try taking a hit from that beast. But without any mental energy at all, he might have to...

Watching for Link in the flickering orange and red of the campfires, Pip would call out.

"Are you ready to continue?"

Sniffling and removing his hand from his stomach, Link would wipe his mouth on the back of his leather glove and twist his torso to reach around and grab the wire-wrapped hilt of the Master Sword. Pip's apology might have made the Hylian Knight feel better about what had transpired, but that didn't say anything about the putrid taste of bile still coating the Hero's tongue. Salivating as was his body's wont, Link would spit as modestly as he could towards the side while dragging his blade along his left flank, his cerulean optics lifting as he turned around to look for Pip. There he was, moving into the light, waiting for the Hero of Time. Any doubts of Pip's condition were laid to rest as the man questioned Link's ability continue. Not wanting to offend Pip by suggesting that perhaps the fight should be ended if the psychic was feeling too ill, Link would also make his way into the more suitable section of the arena before giving Pip an affirmative by dipping his chin down in a nod.

Was Pip hiding a sickness? Did he just vomit uncontrollably ever now and then? Link didn't know nor did he have much of a reason to ask. Pip wanted to continue, and Link was there to oblige him. Lifting the Master Sword up and above his head, Link would flourish the weapon and bring it down in a swordsman's salute before lifting his shield in defense and approaching. As far as giant swords went, it would be an insult to consider the Master Sword as one.

The length of the weapon was too short to be considered a long-sword, while the elongated hilt suggested an almost two-handed weapon. As such, it was classified as a hand-and-a-half sword, or a b*****d Sword. Considering the master craftsmanship of the appropriately named Master Sword, it could not have weighed more than two pounds and a scant few more ounces.

It was a common misconception that swords such as these were 'giant', 'unwieldy', 'beastly' or what-have-you. If the past three rounds were anything to judge by, Link's proficiency with his sword was something to be reckoned with. It moved like a reed in deft hands, and was a nightmare to those who underestimated it. It would be a nightmare for Pip if he continued to regard it as a monster it most certainly wasn't.

Approaching Pip, Link would swipe at the man's legs - left-to-right - in the form of a feint.

His younger opponent following him into the light was more than helpful. Pip liked being able to see his buddy. It would be much easier to fight now. Though he still didn't know how he was going to deal with that swinging metal slab... he hadn't ran into an opponent with a sword yet.

And then Pip had a young Knight on the attack without even saying a word.

Rude!

Pip would take a note from his opponent and shuffle backwards to avoid the swing, but with the weapon's longer reach it would still manage a fairly deep gash across the front of his right (lead) leg. It could have been worse, and he had dealt with worse in the past, but that didn't stop his teeth from clenching and a hiss escaping his mouth.

As he was sliding back his right hand would slip into one of the several pouches on his hip, coming out with a small bundle of sewing needles. Anyone watching closely would see that the young lad wasn't actually gripping the needles tightly, but was rather making his own stomach churn once more as he created a small field of his psychokinetic energy and holding the needles aloft in that. As the sword would cut through Pip's jeans his right hand would swing upwards, pushing those needles through the air at Young Link's face.

Even this tiny manipulation of his powers was making the psionics eyes water after that recent expulsion of his, but it was just small enough to let him get by without another episode like previously in the fight.

Barely.

HyruleKnightLink

Approaching Pip, Link would swipe at the man's legs - left-to-right - in the form of a feint.

Link's opponent would realize that the swing was a feint; a ploy; a mockery; a false showing of intent. Never committing to attacking the Psychic, Link had instead wanted to see what Pip would do if he thought he was about to be attacked by opting for a swordsman's feint. To the Knight's observation, Pip chose retreat while simultaneously reaching into the pouch upon his hip. Curiously, Link had anticipated more of a defense, but would not pass up an opportunity to push the heavier and taller of the two back. The advantage was Link's, and he would not give it up. Long before reaching Pip's right-leg, the Master Sword's descent and swipe would be halted simultaneously with Link twisting his wrist to hold the blade out.

Link had feinted upon his approach. When Pip went shuffling back after seeing the feint, Link would go into a full offense. Broadening his stride to effectively bring himself closer to the Psychic, albeit still out of his own arm's reach, Link would knit his eyebrows even tighter as he watched his opponent swing his right arm up from below. Again, courage was not the absence of fear - it was the mastery of it. Knowing full well the terror and havoc Pip could unleash with one of his punches, which his swinging arm appeared to be, Link would not go into a frantic retreat or attempt to dodge, but rather meet it head on. With his shield yet still held out in front of him, Link would decide to courageously contest the strength of this arm which appeared to be coming up to hit him yet again.

Lowering his right arm down quickly and decisively, Link would plant his right foot on the sand before him, twist his torso to the left, and attempt to jam the edge of the Hylian Shield into top/side of Pip's raising arm before it would finish it's gait. If there was contact, wherever shield and flesh met, it was anyone's guess as to where the needles would fly to with all things considered. If there was contact at all, the trajectory of the needles could be screwed up altogether. Some could potentially hit the shield, while others could very well strike the Hero of Time anywhere between his torso, neck, chin, right arm, and the right side of his head. Contact in general could mean a world of hurt for Pip's arm. However, Link was not done. Simultaneous with the Knight's defense would be the beginning moments of his offense, which could be potentially worse. Using the momentum of his twisting-to-left torso, Link would lift his left foot off the sandy ground and swing his left-arm back, performing a spinning back fist. With the Master Sword. Considering their distance from one another and their general heights, the Master Sword could strike anywhere between Pip's left shoulder to the last few ribs in his side.

"Syaaaaah!!"

..Yet more flames upon torches would meet their untimely demise..

A successful feint!

Pip was so fast when running away that Link actually stopped his sword slash!

So Awesome.

The boy's right arm would be caught on the underside of Link's shield and the abruptness of the action would easily set off the same needle-shot as it would have if Pip had gotten it aimed at Link's face. He had a plan and he was carrying through with it, god dammit!

The boy's shot would go off in Link's side as he began his spin. Pip's arm hurt, but thanks to the added protection of his leather jacket he wouldn't have any broken bones. As the Knight spun around for his spinning back fist Pip would be hurriedly changing his momentum up. He had been shuffle-stepping backwards, and even though he was wearing combat boots in sand he still didn't have too much trouble stopping his weight and throwing his shoulders forward.

The result would be that Pip would take the hilt and cross guard of that hand-and-a-half monstrosity of a weapon right to his already bruised left ribs. Why the ribs and not the arm? Because Pip's left arm would be raised up at this point while his right arm was stretching out to get a grip on whatever clothing he could at the base of Link's neck. The hilt of that sword to his side would easily break a rib or two more then were already screwed up from his fight with the doctor, and that would be enough to cause that same hiss to escape his lips as before.

But he would also be in position to bring the butt of his own weapon down on the top of his opponent's skull. Or the temple if he should duck either way. Or the base of the skull if he should try running forward and away from the psionics grip. Pip wasn't afraid of taking damage to give damage back, but having his ribs broken was a little more than bargained for.

Ow.

The Psychic was now almost behind that giant ******** sword, and he didn't really plan on letting his little friend turn around to skewer him with it. He was going to bring the butt end of his baton down as hard as he could as many times as possible with little to no regard for the rivers of pain in his side while he did it.

After all, even though his friend was just a little kid, he had still signed up for this tournament.

It would suck.

But it had to be done.

The smile would be gone from Pip's face by this point.

Thud!

Not a direct hit; but good enough! Though the damage done didn't show in Pip's baring, Link knew without a doubt that the young man was feeling it now. After being struck by the cross-guard of the Master Sword backed by Link's superior physical prowess and the momentum of a spin, no one could be immune to such a blow. This filled the Hero of Time with even more confidence, yet it was short-lived once he realized that the cloth at the nape of his neck had been grabbed. Turning his head and gazing upon Pip, Link would immediately flinch once the metallic butt of his opponent's baton struck the top of his cranium. The wool cap and hair beneath did little in the ways of cushioning the blow, yet years of battle and trauma did impress upon Link the ability to withstand such punishment - to an extent. Didn't mean that the Hylian Knight liked it any.

User Image

His reaction would be typical to say the very least - he needed to protect his head. It was an important body part of a thinking swordsman, after all. Raising his right arm up and driving it down behind his head, Link's defensive measure would also be an offensive one. The Hylian Knight would put a fine steel-plate between the back of his head and Pip's baton, saving his cranium from brutality, while simultaneously driving the edge of the shield yet again into Pip's right arm, probably aiming to hit somewhere close to the wrist or forearm.

While Link did this, his left hand would fidget with the hilt of the Master Sword, the Hero idly shifting it into an underhand grip. If Pip didn't back up, Link would c**k his arm, pivot his wrist, and drive the weapon behind him and into whatever flesh was unlucky enough to be in the blade's path.

[/Impact]

The vibrations of steel and skull were still running up Pip's arm as he gritted his teeth through the pain that was making its way through his side. It was unpleasant at best. The boy for sure would have to see a doctor after that one.

But he had gotten one back.

That was what mattered.

Though it would seem that The Knight's reflexes were very good as well. No sooner had Pip's baton and arm stopped vibrating then did he have a shield crashing down on his leather-covered forearm again.

This one got damn close to breaking that arm. The angle was awkward enough that it would probably only tear up some skin, but it was more then enough to make him let go.

Let go, but not move backwards.

On Pip's left side was Link's left hand still playing with his sword, cross guard not far from Pip's left hip. And coming down on top of that cross guard as Link was re-settling his grip would be the butt end of Pip's baton. The young Psion liked this attack from up close, and this one wasn't aimed at something that would stun like the head. No, now he was doing something much different.

Now he was trying to break bones too.

Pip's left hand would swing down looking to crush Link's left wrist under the steel butt of his baton.

It was a Mean attack, and he wouldn't have done it but he was in Pain!

And as he did this his opponent would be unable to see the blue-eyed youth's right hand, now slipping into the half-open front of his jacket. Was he simply adding support to his wounded left side?

Maybe...

(Short post is short - massive headache.)

With the constant flux and change of battle, no plan survived contact with the enemy. With his head turned towards the side to properly gauge Pip, Link would most certainly catch the sight of the Psychic's steel-baton coming down to bludgeon him. While there was no time to avoid the attack entirely with Link still fidgeting with the Master Sword, the Hylian Knight would abandon hope of stabbing Pip and instead opt for damage control with self-preservation becoming first and foremost in his mind. Flinching, Link drew his arm back to himself and effectively moved the small target of his wrist from play, instead taking the full brunt of Pip's assault on the top/side of his forearm. So say it hurt would have been the grossest of understatements. Unwillingly, Link's sword would be dropped as it's owners finger tips sprung open, the shock of the body overpowering the shock of the mind. Dismayed, but otherwise incapable of grabbing the Master Sword again lest he leave himself open, Link would twist his torso to the right while simultaneously moving his right arm over his face and elongating it beside him.

The effect? Another spinning back fist; but with a shield. Though Pip's previous psychic pulse had injured the joints of Link's right shoulder and elbow, the pain would do little in the ways of impairing the striking power Link possessed in both momentum and strength. Should the shield hit, it would mean another world of hurt for the psychic.

Ah ha!

The sword fell to the ground and so did Pip's baton right next to it. Pip had used the baton as efficiently as he could for the moment, and his right hand would be sliding out of his jacket with a new weapon. The shield leaving Link's head unprotected once more would allow Pip's left hand to get a grip on the neck-line again while Link began his second spinning back fist.

But now the psionic had his balance back, and was wise to Link's Game (get it?).

His aching left side was reminder enough to what would happen if Pip didn't avoid the Hero of Time's attack, and so what would he do? Pip would side-step to the left, shuffling along while Link was spinning. He would step over the fallen weapons with a grip on Link's collar, trying to stay behind the Hero, and therefore out of effective striking range of that shield.

The older boy would take his opportunity within the first steps of the spin and pull down Link's collar as much as he could in order to get a good view of some exposed flesh. When he had his target in his sights he would bring up his right arm and...

ZAP!!

... set off his taser right in the back of The Hero of Time's neck.

Would this be enough to take down the young Knight? Pip didn't know. This would be the first time that somebody had ever actually taken a shot from this toy in front of him.

Hopefully it wasn't too gruesome.

He had been told that it was a mean, underhanded trick.

But it was getting darker with every swing of the younger man's arms, and Pip was not about to try fighting this guy in pure night.

How would he ever see?
PostPosted: Mon Sep 07, 2009 8:24 pm

Zap!!

Gnashing his teeth together and viciously grunting through them, Link would feel the intimacy of several hundred volts coursing their way through his body; but the Hylian Knight would not be denied. Pip had only delayed the inevitability of being struck down by the surface of the Knight's shield, Link's built up inertia finishing what his spinning back fist had started. With a resounding thud of steel against flesh, Link would hardly register the impact, the literal shock of Pip's weapon desensitizing his body to stimulus save one - pain. Balance was nonexistent while the Hero's body tensed up like a piece of wood, and once his spinning momentum was stopped upon collision with Pip's body, Link would hit the sand with his knees like a sack of potatoes.

Fortunately, this would have the added effect of removing the Taser from his neck, thus stopping the current of electricity flowing through his body. A flood of relief would flood through the Hero of Time once the current stopped, normal bodily functions coming faster than anyone could expect from an average human being shocked. Save the burning sensation in the back of his neck and the general tingly sensation throughout his body, Link was no worse off than before Pip's underhand act of electrocuting him. Having no concept of technology and only inferring on what had happened, Link had deduced that Pip could not only punch with more power than the Hero of Time could have imagined, but could also electrocute his opponents on a whim. Amazing powers. Frightening powers. Powers Link's innate warrior spirit could only revel in the challenge of.

But what of Pip? After witnessing him vomit, Link was still under the impression that the lanky psychic was under the weather. Coupled with the youth taking more damage from Link than dealing in turn, the Hero of Time was feeling more and more disenchanted with the prospect of continuing on with the fight. No one could enjoy withstanding the brutality of being hammered with both sword and shield numerous times while dealing with ailments that were not ring-related. In truth, Link sympathized. To him, the fight had already reached the climax. He wasn't in a dungeon; He wasn't storming the gates of Hyrule Castle; nor was he battling for the lives of an entire town. Link was in the Gaian Tenkaichi Budokai to be close to the evil that lurked behind the scenes; he was here to confront that evil and vanquish it. Pip, though more than a worthy opponent, was not that evil. Pip was a boy. A random fighter. A life that could be disfigured with any stroke of a blade, bash of a shield, and casting of a spell.

For Link, this battle was a test of mettle and skill, and both he and Pip had shown their fair share of both. There was no more sense in continuing save to beat upon each other more, which was senseless unto itself. Link still had a job to finish in the Gaian Tenkaichi Budokai, and he couldn't afford to take an injury that would debilitate him next round lest he meet his true opponent. However, this was battle. If Pip wasn't ready to concede, then Link would have to oblige him and finish it regardless of personal feelings. Having delved into his innate fey magics prior to vomiting, Link entertained the thought of casting Din's Fire, but procrastinated to accurately gauge Pip and his intentions. It could be costly in the long run, but Link could not go against his nature and fight someone who wasn't prepared or able to fight back. Clenching his left hand into a tightly balled fist shortly after hitting the ground, Link would begin raising his left hand into the sky, pausing just long enough to see Pip.

Pip's response would mean the difference between a walk in the dark or a fight in the light.

The blow coming on Pip's right was fierce, no doubt about that, but it wouldn't be nearly as bad for the psionic as having a taser discharged on one's spine. Pip had his own momentum to the left from side-stepping, and Link wouldn't be hitting Pip with his full force anymore (being electrocuted usually slowing down a person's muscle control). Just the built up momentum of that great big shield.

Still painful.

Not as painful as it could have and would have been.

Pip had his arm raised up to stab the taser into his opponent's neck, and so when the shorter man spun to hit him with a shield the psionic's shoulder would take most of the impact. That arm was taking a beating, but it was being spread out enough that the arm was still usable.

If barely.

A not so quiet grunt of pain would be let out through Pip's teeth, a single tear making its way down his cheek. He didn't like this. This fight was brutal. Pip was taking a lot of damage without giving back nearly as much and he knew it, but there was one thing that he still had going for him...

His opponent would indeed fall down and the connection between him and the twin prongs at the head of Pip's weapon would be lost briefly. Satisfaction would probably be felt. But Pip would still have a firm grip on Link's collar with his left hand, and so as the young Knight took a knee Pip would still have a way of targeting that same spot for yet another burst of electricity.

Link wouldn't really have too much time to raise up his hand before he was getting fried once more. Pip was going to empty this thing's battery into his opponent so that he wouldn't get beat down anymore. But that wasn't all. No.

Not at all.

See, Pip had taken quite a bit of time to recover his powers. His burst from before and the attack on his mind by the crowd healed over, he was ready to use his real powers once again. The crowd was shouting for more as Pip pressed down the button yet again, and he would give them more. He would finish this fight here and now, before the Knight would have a chance to turn the tables. Pip had a dominant position.

He would not be very happy to lose it, after all that he had gone through to make his dominance apparent.

The young psionic would bring his right knee up towards Link's back ribs, doing as he had before with his punch, in that he would be adding a great push of psychokinetic energy along with the knee. The attack would be aimed for Link's back, somewhere in the vicinity of his back ribs, or his spine if he were really unlucky. Pip would add even more to it by pulling Link into the attack by his collar.

It was brutal. Maybe not as powerful as the punch since Pip didn't have as much energy left to him, but still a very not nice attack, especially since that taser would still be going off on the boy as the attack came in.

Pip just wanted this fight to be over.

He didn't care about being seen as special.

He didn't care about making the fans happy, especially the few that had bet on him.

All that he wanted was to go home, see some nice nurses, and drink a milkshake.

And that would happen as soon as this youngster kneeling before him went down.

And didn't get back up.

Furrowing his eyebrows, Link could have sworn his shield would have hit Pip in the side with his attack when considering their height differences, the leveling of Link's shield-arm, and Pip's own upraised right arm. Link could have also sworn that said shield attack would have had the benefit of at least causing Pip, who was in the possession of a few broken ribs, to at least slow-down when being hit with a swinging with the added weight of a shield with heavily built up inertia. Instead, Pip had maintained whatever he was doing to remain directly behind the Hylian Knight after the completion of Link's spinning back-fist - a 180 degree turn - to once again plug the Hero of Time with electricity that wasn't really electrocuting the spine, but rather being discharged into flesh, nerves, and muscle tissue. To make matters even more complicated, Pip was trying to knee a kneeling man in the back while simultaneously grabbing his collar and pulling back while electrocuting him in roughly the same area.

To say Link was tired of being electrocuted would have been an understatement. To say he was tired of not being able to see his opponent would have been the grossest of understatements. Upon the first moment of feeling that sharp zap, Link followed his instincts and lurched forward, throwing his left shoulder into the sand before him while simultaneously casting not Din's Fire; but rather Nayru's Love. The defenseless needed a defense, and in Link's time of need, Nayru would be most helpful. A fine sheen of pink began to coat the Hero of Time's body just as Pip's knee went to collide with the Knight's twisted-torso area. Just as quickly as the shield was formed though, it would shatter upon impact - a glorious testament to the strength of Pip's power.

The impact pushed Link into the sand (the cloth of his tunic would also tear within Pip's hand, thus freeing Link) painfully albeit better off then he would have been without his spell, but things were getting serious now. Link was getting serious. The pain of his wounds forced adrenaline through his veins quicker then ever; The drive to win had been rekindled in his mind and doubled his determination; The Triforce of Courage burned brightly on the top of his hand, Link's desire to win for a righteous cause forcing the Godly bestowed powers within him to strengthen him. Momentous occurrences would be happening within the Hero of Time while Pip, bless his soul, would be dealing with a severely bruised arm, several broken ribs, a bludgeoned shoulder, and the drawbacks of his psychic energies - if any.

All things considered, Link was just starting to warm-up. Afterall, it was only the first five - seven minutes of their battle, wasn't it? Link had enough endurance, stamina, and strength to go full capacity for hours in battle with his keen conditioning while opponent was hardly up to par both because of his lack of discipline and injuries sustained. The psychic would have done well to realize that a few pains in the joints of an arm, light trauma to the head, and a knee drive blunted by a spell were hardly going to slow the Hero of Time down nevermind put him on his last legs. The psychic should have counted his blessings and conceded, but now it was too late. The battle would continued in the darkness with no conceivable end in sight.

In short, Pip would not be going home anytime soon. Not if Link had any say about it, which he most certainly did. Rolling onto his back after hitting the sand with his shoulder, Link would look at his enshrouded opponent, even if it only was for the briefest of moments, while pulling his arms in and getting ready to pull his knees to his chest should Pip decide to go for a mount. If Pip didn't go for a mount, there was a whole list of things Link could do to bring the pain to Pip. As it was, Link would just enjoy the cool sands at his back, eyes ever observant.

[/Ooc: Going to do this IC, but I really hope that it doesn't come off sounding like a NO U. It isn't supposed to be, simply me defending my case, and since it doesn't really matter in terms of the fight...

Here goes.]

The shield striking Pip's shoulder instead of the side was because of the immense size of the shield itself. It wasn't supposed to be a bracer, small enough to balance on one's d**k. This thing was made to protect, and made big enough to do that job well. Link would have hoped for Pip to have been slowed down from this strike, but the problem was that Pip's broken ribs were on his other side (left), meaning that though they would be jostled in the strike, they wouldn't be hit directly, and with Pip's burst of adrenaline he would be able to push through in hopes of putting his opponent down.

Finally, Pip's position would remain behind Link because though the Hylian had spun around one hundred degrees to hit Pip with his shield, Pip had been circling as well. He had clockwise momentum (technically the momentum would be leftwards, but with an anchor point on Link's shirt the clockwise comment is close enough) which would only have been added to in getting hit by a great big shield.

Pip was very much behind Link, and so as his knee came in and he tore the top of Link's shirt (the clothes probably lost their durability through that spinning) to expose some burned skin, he would also lose his connection between the Knight and the taser.

It was too bad, really. That would have been an easy way to end the fight.

Now he had to do this the hard way.

Pip wouldn't have the same repercussions as the last time that he had purged himself of psychokinetic energy. Last time his senses had been assaulted by the negative emotions from the crowd that was standing so very close. That had caused the gastral parade before.

This time however, Pip's mind was well guarded against the roaring of the crowd. Even though it was dark, they could tell that Link was on the ground. They were excited, unsure as to whether or not their Hero was down for the count.

But Pip knew. Just because he couldn't read Link's emotions didn't mean that he couldn't tell that there was an active consciousness near him. That had to be his opponent. The one jostling the sand at Pip's feet.

Pip would be very quick in slipping his taser back into his inside jacket pocket, lightly pressing against the ribs there on the left side to see just how bad off he was. A hiss escaping his lips would be evidence that he wasn't impressed. His eyes would remain on the figure before him and a quick thought would come to mind. Their weapons were both on the ground here somewhere. His baton and the Knight's sword.

Even in the shadows there would be enough flickering light reflecting off of the polished metal surfaces to catch sight of the two pieces of metal. The baton would be drawn in a telekinetic grip to Pip's own left hand while the sword would go skidding across the sand to the perimeter of where those fires had been.

The boy was tired, but he wasn't going to lose, and so he would stand there, recovering lost energies and watching his opponent laying there in the sand. His opponent might expect Pip to go for mount, but the boy wouldn't have minded a bit of a breather.

He wasn't in bad shape... but he also wasn't much of a warrior.

He wasn't a Knight.

Chest rising and falling with a dramatic display of breathing, Link would slowly sit forward and pull his legs beneath him, his left hand going about the tedium of dusting himself off while he rose up and to his full yet modest stature. Though Link was fully prepared for the continuation of battle, being overzealous for conflict would only work against him. He was both unarmed, and now aware of another ability of Pip's - telekinesis. Having no prior knowledge of Pip's abilities, Link could only infer upon them if and when he witnessed them. The knowledge that the Master Sword was pushed out of the Hero's reach was more than enough for him to assume that his opponent had the ability to move things with his mind. If such was the case, then things got just a little more complicated. Nothing the Hero of Time could handle; but enough for him to make a change in tactics.

Tactics he would go through with if and when he reached his feet. The act of standing up was a good opportunity to capitalize upon.

The act of standing was indeed a good time to capitalize on someone, and after all of the time Pip had spent trying to get Link down it would be foolish to think that the psion wouldn't at least try to capitalize on such an opportunity.

Pip was tired.

Pip was sore.

...

Pip was very sore.

All that he wanted was his milkshake, and to that end he would move in on Link as the younger boy stood up. His breath wasn't coming to him as much as he would like, but his psychic powers were coming back to him as well as ever.

As link was standing up, Pip would plant his right foot forward and swing his baton with all of his might from his crown down to his crotch, the head of the baton on a downward collision course with the head of Link. While he did this he would apply a little bit of psychokinetic down pressure on Link's shield arm.

The goal?

That Link would go to block the attack with his shield, have it not able to come all of the way up to guard his face, and get hit in the same spot by Pip's baton because of this. Pip was counting on Link's surprise a bit, but at the same time he wasn't taking too long with this action. The obvious other choice would be to drop to a knee to roll under the strike, but Pip was counting on Link trusting to his shield. The green capped fighter had shown himself to be more then adept enough in using his defensive weapon, and Pip wouldn't be surprised to see him try to utilize it once more.

Especially since the consequences behind such a roll would be high (Link rolling into Pip's knees and all).

Depending on how much force Link put on that arm would be directly related to how much energy Pip lost in his replenishing energy reserves.

The blond psion would feel a twinge of pain in his left side because he was bringing his arm up in that way, but he hoped that the pain that Link would feel would be much worse.

He hoped.

Because if ever there was a boy that needed a milkshake it was Pip.

The thought barely even made his stomach churn.
