FLAT! thought the bard in his mind as his opponent began to tear through his beloved plant. The arrow landing harmlessly past him as he watched in growing annoyance.
No no no! this music is too flat...too bland! it was no surprise to the musician that his opponent was breaking apart his would be Elegy to the swordsman.
THATS IT! the idea was so simple!
Make this note SharpReyin had lifted himself out of a lot of dirt before performing his little acrobatic feat. This meant that he was nearly level with the bard and it was right when the swordsman landed on his feet that the musician decided to strike.
TIME FOR YOUR CADENCE! (song starts at 1.44)
The first flurry of notes occurred as Reyin's body was in the air. Saphen had used his hidden talent...and he hoped it was worth it. The bard had switched modes with out the use of a charge and at the very moment when Reyin's feet touched ground...the very moment Saphen brandished his blade enforced bow...Saphen would thrust forward.
In similar fashion to a fencer the bard would lunge at Reyin's midsection in an attempt to pierce his right thigh (very close to the waist). If his opponent had some type of leg armor it would take a very small adjustment to pierce into Reyin's waist, typically in this area is where armor pieces met and thus was an easier target.
After the stab would occur the bard would quickly withdraw with his legs in a side stance. Leading with his right he would keep his bow forward, the violin back and gripped with the instrument above his left hand just as one might hold a sword and dagger.
Maybe it wasn't too late to write Reyin's Elegy thought the bard, he knew that Reyin has never seen this talent before...and was curious to see how he would react.
