She frowned and took a step back "You know... thats not really endearing me to you at all. Its sounds more you want to enslave me than be a mate..."

"I do not want a slave. At the risk of sounding trite, I could have those as well. I need a mate. I need you. And I am sure that I am rough around the edges. Living on your own for hundreds of years does tend to do such a thing to a person, as does living in a world where the colors you see are black, white, and grays. I have not felt in years upon years, and though I am angry and upset, that I can feel at all is something I never expected, something only you can give to me. That is not something a slave can do. Only the one who is my true lifemate can restore such things."

She bit her lip thoughtfully and took a breath, letting it out slowly as she came to a decision. Thrusting out her hoof she gave a shy smile "Can we start over then? This first meeting wasn't.. ideal. I'm Medley.. nice to meet you!"

Andrei was confused. Had she really just decided to give him a second start so quickly? "Medley, what a beautiful name," He brought her hoof to his lips and placed a light kiss there. "My name is Andrei, and I can assure you it is quite a pleasure to meet you."

She smiled, glad he went along with it. Of course now she had no clue what to do. "Umm... do you have a place you live in?"

"I have never had a need for a permanent residence until now. When it is time to go to ground I find a suitable cave and secure it from my enemies. I will be working to acquire one now though, I assure you. What about you? Do you take up residence in this area?"  

[Jezbel]

She nodded "I have a little hut not too far away. Its pretty secluded but its a nice quiet area. Very little passes by."

"A hut? You cannot live in a hut. It is unacceptable for my lifemate to dwell in such a thing..." He growled, "This will be righted soon."  

[Jezbel]

She blinked in surprise "Its nice and cozy.. and well its just me so its not like I need that much. Er.. righted HOW exactly?" Not opposed to moving just curious to how he wanted to fix it

"You will move into my estate. I promise that you that you will never want for anything again, regardless of how fine it is. You can set your rooms up as you wish, simply just tell the staff what you would like." Andrei shook his head again, "I cannot believe you live in a hut..."  

[Jezbel]

"Wait a minute.. what estate? You just told me you had no permanent residence. And my hut isn't some shambled shack! Think of it as a tiny cottage if you must.. I just call it the hut."

"I'll make one then. Regardless, you do not have to live in a hut. Though I'm relieved that it isn't the grass and banana leaf structure I was imagining. And this way, you can design the estate to suit you."  

[Jezbel]

She giggled "No its a sound stone structure. I can even show you it.... and well.. you can stay with me I guess while you get your new residence together."

Andrei stopped, "You barely know me, yet you would share your home with me?" Something in his heart warmed and he moved to kiss her forehead, stopping short before actually doing so. "You are truly a treasure. And I appreciate your offer...but I feel that you would soon ask me to leave. You have no idea what it is you've invited to live with you."  

[Jezbel]

She shifted uncomfortably "Well.. you said we're mates right? So we need to get used to each other... that means spending time together." She gave him a wry look "And I get the feeling your not the type to just drop me off at home and leave me there.. so you might as well come in."
