Xiu hesitated. Why was this human insisting that he should have a look at the frei’s arm. Xiu was confused. There were no bad intentions about this human but…the frei was nevertheless reluctant. He had grudgingly agreed to treat Joshua but was now demanding that Xiu showed his arm to him. Uncertain blue eyes matched the doctor’s firm ones.
“You are not scared, right Xiu?” Joshua asked curiously. “Look! I’ll even stand by you, okay?”
At the child’s statement, Xiu just had to smile. “No, I’m not afraid…I am…,” Xiu paused. How could he tell the young boy that the doctor’s attitude towards him was less than pleasant? The way the papers were snatched from his hand, the manner in which the doctor looked at him…all these signs, they were subtle but present. Xiu couldn’t shake off the feeling that Kenth was eyeing him as one would a lab specimen. Which was technically true but …still insulting…
Floating warily towards the doctor, Xiu slowly pushed up the inner grey sleeve with some difficulty to reveal an interesting sight. To all sense and purpose, the wound resembled a terrible looking bleeding bruise but the presence of the white blood made the wound appear whitish instead of red. The flesh around the wound appeared tender as though it had been hit by something large and fast.
Further inspection and treatment however was impossible as the grey sleeve was in the way.

Kenth wondered if his first impression of Xiu was wrong, because the reavan was certainly not acting like a mature being at the moment. At least, he was bright enough to pick up on what Kenth was thinking. Unwilling to let the scissors go the doctor sighed, trying to suppress his anger and be as patient as possible.
"Your wound is both internal and external. The ice will have an effect on the internal bleeding, but the external part could cause an infection if the bleeding's not stopped." Not to mention it was covered by fabric, which may or may not contain bacteria. Kenth glanced at Xiu's hand in which the sleeve was attached. "If you don't want me to cut it, then roll up the sleeve yourself. "

Xiu took the offered pack of ice and placed it onto the bruise. The coldness of the ice was a welcome change to the pain in his arm. The pain was still there of course but now it had been reduced to a dull throb. Xiu shifted his wings a little as he watched the doctor. The human seemed frustrated over something and was muttering quietly to himself.
"Fancy clothes are always in the way..."
Xiu snapped to attention and watched as the doctor seemed to be looking for something. “What are you…searching for?” enquired the frei softly before flaring his wings wide at the sight of Kenth returning with a pair of scissors. “You are not cutting my clothes,” said Xiu flatly.

For the first time in his life, Xiu scowled at someone and Kenth had the honour of being that someone. “The sleeve, it can’t be rolled up any higher,” said Xiu tersely. Nevertheless, the scissors remained firm within the doctor’s hand. Xiu was beginning to wonder if the doctor wasn’t being a little compulsive. The thought troubled the frei a little.
“There is another way,” said Xiu in a voice that was practically a growl. Removing his outer white clothes and letting it dangle from where it was connected to his ribbon, Xiu unbuttoned his inner grey shirt. Still scowling, Xiu (with some difficulty) shook his arm out of the sleeve and eyed Kenth expectantly

((WTF GAIAAAA ))
Kenth grimaced at Xiu's growling. In his mind, the doctor could not find anything that seemed to have offended the raevan, so the only conclusion he could draw was that Xiu was being difficult.
But at least Xiu was doing something to take his arm out. Kenth nodded slightly of approval, and took ahold of the raevan's arm. The doctor raised an eyebrow at the pure white color that was of Xiu's blood. He had heard of blue blood from certain animals, but white was something he had never seen before. Interesting. Kenth thought, and had the urge to collect the blood and store it so he could research on it later. Although, seeing Xiu's unpleasant expression, the doctor knew the reavan would certainly not corporate with what he had in mind. Kenth shook his head in disappointment, let go of Xiu's arm, and grabbed some cotton from the nearby desk drawer. He was hesitant to use the same antiseptic that was used on Joshua, because he wasn't sure of its effects on a non-human creature. The cotton, on the other hand, would be at least effective enough to stop the bleeding.
"I'm not an expert in treating a non-human." softening his voice, Kenth asked while pressing the cotton gently against Xiu's wound. "You should let an expert see the wound to make sure it's not dangerous."

At the softening of the doctor’s voice, Xiu glanced at the doctor with some measure of surprise. He had not thought that it was possible for someone as cold hearted as the doctor. Perhaps…he was wrong?
Xiu flared his wings at this thought. No, this human was still unbearable.
Perhaps it was just his way?
Xiu shifted uncomfortably as the doctor began cleaning his wounds. Feeling that perhaps he should say something (the doctor after all had treated Joshua and was now treating his), Xiu gave Kenth a thoughtful glance. “Our clothes…we were born with them,” explained Xiu. “Some are capable of removing them completely while some…,” Xiu shrugged. “ It would be a troublesome if they were torn or damaged.”

Kenth perked up at Xiu's explanation, then looked down again, and said nothing. In his mind Kenth made a mental note of what the raevan said, it would be a valuable piece of information for his research. What was the reason that the clothes were born with these creatures? Was it by design, by power of the fel essences or the soul? Time rushed by faster when he was deep in thought, and by the time the thoughts left Kenth the raevan's bleeding was already stopped. The doctor let out a sigh of relief, and dropped Xiu's arm from his hand.
"The wound should heal soon, but remember what I said." Kenth pushed his glasses up a little, trying to redirect his concentration on his non-human patient. There was a brief silence, then Kenth coughed lightly, realizing there was something important he should do.
"Did you call your guardian?" He asked. He did all he could do for the two injured here, but he did say they could not leave until someone sighs the papers.

“Yes,” said Xiu with a nod. “Hazeline will be arriving soon,”
At this, Xiu floated up and began adjusting his clothes; glad that he was allowed to have them on again. Suitably satisfied with his apparel, Xiu turned to face Kenth, looking sheepish. “Doctor…thank you,”
After brief silence…
“I-If there is anything I could do to pass the time…,” ventured Xiu uncertainly. “Some paperwork? Not to fill up of course,” added Xiu quickly. “But ummm…like filing? Or some other small task until Hazeline arrives?”

"You are welcome." Kenth replied as a manner of politeness. Upon hearing Xiu's question though, the doctor looked at Xiu as if he had never seen a raevan. Xiu's change in attitude was not anticipated, and Kenth didn't expect the raevan would want to perform any tasks for him. He then frowned a little, realizing that there really wasn't much Xiu could do. Kenth was a completely independent and efficient man, and had done everything himself up to now. He never trusted anyone else to do works for him, and, after starting to live and work by himself, this distrust became rooted in his system. Kenth shook his head, unable to think of anything.
"You are injured." He insisted. "Right now, rest is what you should be doing. I don't have any work for you." Kenth fell silent, feeling that telling Xiu "I don't trust you even if I do have work" was inappropriate. After a while the doctor looked up at the raevan again, and asked hesitantly.
"If you don't mind, you can tell me about yourself."

Xiu listened, his wings drooping slightly when the doctor told him that there was nothing that the white raevan could do to pass the time. Well…he had tried to make amends. Folding his wings carefully behind him, Xiu listened to the doctor’s request. Tell the doctor about himself? What was there to tell? Or more importantly, would it be safe to do so? Blue eyes observed the human intently. No, there was nothing malicious about the human. Perhaps he was just curious.
The raevan nodded slowly. Very well…he would humour the human. “ My name is Xiu,” said Xiu softly; thinking that perhaps it was best to start with the basic introductions first despite it being rather late to do so. “I was…bor-created on the 14th of October last year,” said Xiu a little reluctantly. The word ‘created’ had never sat well with the raevan but it was a better option that the word ‘made’ wasn’t it?
“I was…created from white blood; my essence and the soul of a Pi Yao.” Blue shifted momentarily to look at Joshua who was currently looking out of the window. “My guardian is Hazeline Lee,”
“With regards to my feeding habits and ummm…capabilities,” said Xiu returning his gaze to the doctor. “I am capable of living off people’s innocence and…blood,” said Xiu softly with the word ‘blood’ barely above a whisper. “I do not eat human food,”
“As for my abilities, I am able to detect malicious intentions of anything; as long as they are sentient,” said Xiu wondering if he should tell the doctor that fang growing seemed to be one of his newly discovered ability as well. Before the raevan could do so however, Joshua was already making his way towards the door. “Hazeline’s here!” the young boy exclaimed.
No sooner had the words left his mouth, the door of the clinic opened and a woman in her mid-twenties stepped in. “Joshua? Are you alright? Where’s Xiu?” asked Hazeline giving her brother’s hair a slight ruffle. “There!” said Joshua pointing to where the doctor and the raevan was.
“Oh,” said Hazeline blinking in surprise. For a moment the woman had thought that she was seeing double. “Good day, doctor. I am Joshua’s sister, Hazeline and guardian of this raevan,” said Hazeline.

Kenth didn't expect the raevan to be so open about himself, nonetheless, whatever he said were valuable information to him. The doctor wondered how Kyou could "create" a raevan, by magic? By Scientific methods? The items that were used to create a raevan certainly weren't anything scientific. In fact, all of them defied the law of science. As Kenth listened to Xiu intently he drew down mentally about the potentials of a raevan. Although from what he could tell, each raevan seemed to look different and most likely would possess different abilities and potentials. Taking notes in front of the raevan while he was speaking sounded like a silly thing to do, so Kenth decided to try and remember all the information and record them later.
Joshua's exclamation unfortunately stopped Xiu from speaking any further. Kenth sighed in disappointment, and it looked like the interview was over. Seeing Hazeline coming into the clinic, the doctor got up in well manner and nodded at her greeting and introduction.
"I'm Kenth Larine. From today on, I am to be your brother's physician by his agreement." By agreement, Kenth neglected to say how he would refuse to treat Joshua if he did not agree. "He should be okay now, I just need a legal guardian's consent to let him go."

“I hope Joshua has not been troubling you,” said Hazeline as she made her way to the front desk where the documents were placed. “To tell you the truth, Xiu’s call has had me worried. Is the wound…really that bad?” Hazeline asked tentatively as she glanced at Joshua’s direction. “Do I let him stay home? Is he capable of going to school?”
At the possibility of not going to school, the young boy’s face contrived to look particularly pained. “Y-Yeah. Don’t I need rest and all that stuff?” the boy asked pitifully.
The doctor was a good listener; Xiu had to give him that. He looked as though he was bent on memorizing every single word that left the frei’s mouth. Which was a little unnerving; actually. The arrival of Hazeline was a welcomed change. The frei flared his wings and floated up to greet his guardian, taking note of the doctor’s name. Kenth Larine. The doctor had flailed to mention that he had also treated the frei in addition to treating Joshua or…was that intentional? Curious human thought Xiu.
Then a rather troubling thought; Was it because he was not a human?
"So umm...I see you are getting along rather well," said Hazeline looking from Kenth to Xiu. "Had an interesting conversation?"

Kenth eyed the anxious guardian and then at Joshua, then shook his head. "It wasn't as severe, I've taken care of the most dangerous period." He didn't hear what Xiu told his guardian, but he could guess that the raevan was overreacting. "You should take him to the hospital and have him vaccinated. Other than that, he should be fine going to school, but my suggestion is to have him avoid any extraneous exercise using that arm." The boy's expression made the doctor's mind tinge, so he extended out a hand and ruffled at the boy's hair. "Wounds as small as this can't stop a strong man." He smiled to Joshua.
His smile lasted no more than two seconds. Kenth looked up at Hazeline again, then turning to Xiu. He was quite absorbed in the conversation with the raevan, and Xiu had told him a lot. In fact, he got so much information from Xiu that Kenth wasn't sure if there's anything else he needed to ask Hazeline about. The doctor nodded stiffly at Hazeline's question. "Yes. I...learned a lot." A pause, then in a softer tone, "he was pleasant to talk to."
And very useful.

“Thank goodness,” said Hazeline looking visibly relieved. “And yes, I shall do that Dr. Larine Thank you,”
At the doctor’s reply regarding the talk with Xiu however, Hazeline glanced at her raevan curiously before turning to the doctor. “That’s uhh…nice. So what did you guys talk about then?”
“About...me, I guess…,” said Xiu quietly as he floated beside his guardian. “Dr. Larine has been especially attentive,”
“Well, I don’t wonder, really,” said Hazeline with amusement. “It’s not everyday that you see Raevans and most people would be curious. Would this be your first time, doctor?”
At his guardian’s question, the frei gave a glance at the doctor. If the human had met a raevan before, Xiu was interested to know which raevan was it.
“Yes, I am the only man in the house at the moment!” piped Joshua proudly and laughed at the doctor’s hair ruffling.
At Xiu’s questioning glance, Joshua puffed his chest cheekily. “Well, you are only half a man after all!”
“That’s quite enough, Joshua,” said Hazeline sternly. “ Xiu may be lacking a lower torso but he’s definitely more mature than you are,”

Kenth shrugged. It looked like he didn't need to answer Hazeline, for Xiu was more than willing to tell his guardian what happened. But the next question was toward him, and only he could answer. "No." He replied simply, figuring that the raevan would know from his initial reaction (or lack of reactions). "I've met a few raevans before. One of my patients had one, and..." He paused, not sure if he should also tell Hazeline about his own raevan-to-be.
"..and a worker from the Lab had one with her." Kenth thought of Alex, but eventually decided to neglect the bottle-delivery part. "In any case, are you finished with the paperwork?" Conversations aside, the doctor had work to do. "After the documents are signed your brother can be registered." He looked at Xiu, the raevan was quite anxious to leave before, but what about now?
