"All right! Hey, maybe this time I'll beat you!" Maguire said happily, retrieving the game from the pile of books.
Glinda glared. "That game's stupid," she said. She couldn't help it. She got mean when she got bored. And that game was only for two.
Nessa flipped through the book. It was like what her mom described the Grimmerie from Oz as being, but it was dark and twisted. The ink kept moving, the writing changing. Nessa didn't quite know what she wanted from the book, but she knew she'd know it when she saw it. Five minutes into reading the book, she found it. "Lightning storm. Fire and water power combined." Nessa smiled. It was perfect.

Maguire rolled his eyes. "You're just afraid Nessa will kick your a**."
"I'm not afraid of anything," Glinda said defensively.

Maguire stifled a chuckle. The result was a snort-like sound.
Glinda glared at them. "I'm going inside. You two are boring." She gathered up her things and started inside.
Nessa focused on the words she was muttering, barely comprehending that it was beginning to work. The clouds were turning black, and a loud clap of thunder made the walls of the library shake. Nessa smiled. Rain for Maguire. Lightning for Nim.

"Hey, guys?" Maguire noticed the sky was looking rather dangerous.

The sky opened up and rain poured down. Maguire yelled and ran for it. He didn't think he was allergic to water . . . But that didn't mean he wanted to find out!
"How about a little fire, scarecrow?" Glinda asked as lightning struck one of the trees.

Lightning struck very, very close. "Are you sure?" Glinda asked before she made a run for it. She wondered what was causing this freak storm.
Nessa continued to concentrate on the spell, making the storm grow worse and worse, more and more deadly. She wanted them to pay, and the book was helping her do it. Outside, her face appeared in the clouds. So they would know who the powerful one was now.

"I'm sure it will still hurt...but I won't burst into flames. I'm not made of straw, you know." Nim glared, "But it looks like we know who to blame for this now..." She eyed her sisters ugly visage in the sky.

"Well, duh!" Glinda yelled. "Who else?"
"How did Nessa do this? I mean, this is really advanced stuff. Mom can't even do it, not intentionally. I don't think. At least, she couldn't when she was our age," Maguire was trying to think rationally, but it wasn't working. Nessa had never done anything like this before. Suddenly, he was struck by an idea. "Stop." He said to the sky. The rain let up a tiny bit. Maguire blinked. "That's weird."
