Diablo clone.
Especially well executed.
Pretty short, though.
You can pick up the demo through Steam.

There was that report on the news about getting PS3s for cheap off eBay by searching for "Platation 3" or some other bonehead spelling error. Is that how you got it? xd
I am suddenly super gaga all over Harvest Moon Sunshine Islands. My turnip won the spring crop contest. whee

They really need to release a Ratchet and Clank collection. Finishing the newest one just makes me want to play all the older ones.

They're fun. Think "Saturday morning cartoon" and it's a pretty good feel for how it is. Platforming with a lot of ridiculous guns. And it's actually written well. Not that the plot is ever anything spectacular, but the dialog is good.

Forserious, get you some Valkyria Chronicles.
Less than $20.
Action/Strategy troop game set in alternate history Europe in a war over fuel resources in 1935. The art style is really cool, and the atmosphere of the game is really awesome.
The gameplay is fun too, for that type of game. It's hard to describe, but I would at least rent it.
Plus the fact that the troops you recruit all have people they like working with, as well as conditions that they prefer or dislike (Deserts, dirt roads, being near machinery, being near women, etc.) and all the troops are unique. You level up classes, so even fresh recruits will never fall behind. It's all about creating a troop that works well in the environment, and with each other. As well as using each unit to it's capacity.
I think it's one of the better strategy styled games I've played in awhile.
I keep getting really attached to some of the characters. Not even plot characters, just the dudes I've been picking up. But since everyone has a unique background and personality, you kind of get attached.
My sniper got hit with a mortar round from a tank and was downed, but I thought he had died (since I know troops can die). I freaked out and was about to reset when they told me how to bring in a medic and evacuate my wounded.

Plus it has old Skies of Arcadia characters in it (Vyse, Aika then Fina as the medic)! heart That's my favorite game! XD
That sounds really awesome. I've never played a game like that. It's not too convoluted though, right? I hate it when the controls are hard to get used to or if I have to direct my characters to every inch and square of a field (ie: Disgaea...though I haven't really played the game that much. Haha.)
I want so many games this year. It's weird. I haven't wanted games so much since....I dunno, N64?

Vyse and Aika are pretty good characters too.
The controls are a little convoluted. Though far, far less so than most games of the type. Certainly not as much as Disgaea, though you do control every unit on the field one at a time. It's just sort of a given for the genre.
You get an overhead map with your units (Usually 9; 8 plus a tank) and then you move them around. They move a certain amount, with units like scouts and engineers moving more than your troopers or anti-tank units. But the movement is free, like any action game. You just press the control stick and they walk wherever they can. And each unit can attack or use an item they have once per turn.
You have a certain amount of moves in a turn (With a tank taking 2 turns), and you try and do whatever the map objective is. Usually capture a base or something.
I guess it sounds complicated explaining it, but it really simplifies a lot of things. Like all units get the same gun (And you just buy gun upgrades, every unit gets upgraded) or you upgrade a class (and all characters of that type level up, even new recruits). So there is a lot less management and a lot more of "get back to playing the game" than most strategy.
The map irritates me though, since it lacks a lot of the detail you want to see, and you can't look from the troop perspective until you select a unit.
But yeah, it's certainly a lot easier than most strategy games. Or a lot more "loose" with how it plays, I should say. It can be hard, but it doesn't make you think you have to move your units X amount of distance and use X attacks in X order. I just take my troops, try to shoot guys in the head, and then duck behind cover. Hooray, strategy!
Yeah, I keep doing the same thing though. I mean, I like so many of the games that come out this year, and downloadable stuff too. I keep wanting to blow a bunch of money on the playstation store and the other services like it. Luckily I guess I don't have the money to do so.
