Razi took a moment to mull the mare's question over. He had a potential bet in mind, one that amused him so, but if he were to voice his idea now, then how would Millicent react to it? He didn't want his idea to be knocked out of the park, especially since he would love to see her reaction to it if he were to win, and then, well there wouldn't be much she could do, right?

Shaking his head, he turned his gaze back over to the bronze mare. "I would rather keep my bet to myself for now. And when I do win, and I DO plan to beat your a** to that finish line, then you'll see what idea I have in store for you. Anyway, " He strutted himself past the mare, chuckling at the sneer and glare she let out, and stopped at what would be a mock starting point of sorts. "You ready to lose?"

Millicent had a good idea what she wanted out of the stallion. She grinned a bit. If she won, she could make a fool out of two stupid stallions. Not that they knew each other or anything. She carefully observed him, slightly curious to the extent of -his- bet. It -better- not be anything she would regret later. The only thing to prevent anything -he- had planned was to squash him.

"I would like to see that happen. What makes you think that an experienced mare like me, lose to someone who has never done an official race, ever?" She snorted. "But, I won't make painful for you. I'll make it short and sweet." She smirked, before rolling his eyes at him. "Not today, Flamgay." She said, lining herself up with him. "How shall we start, since we do not have a cue to go?"

The bright blue eyes filled with a mix of worry, excitement and mischief slowly and lazily looked around at the land once more to make sure he had mapped everything out correctly. He did his share of running since he traveled a lot, never calling one place home since he had never found any good reason to stay in a certain area long, but the female was right, which did not do well for him. He shivered at the thought, 'She is right...' Such a thought gave him a slight shiver down the spine as he snorted. 'An amateur does have a disadvantage against a professional...' he silently thought to himself.

"Tch, no one ever said the under dog can never come out on top."

He mumbled at the Plain Jane's comment, his ears flicking at the sound of a crow's caw. "Short and sweet my..." The orange stallion stopped himself, his brain telling him he might regret his comment since anyone could easily turn it back around at him to make a joke about his new 'nickname. "Nevermind." he said shaking his head. "Anyway, we'll use the crow as our go. 3 Caws from a point of silence we bolt off. Sound good?"

Millicent only gave the bright stallion a look of confidence. She turned her gaze away from him and looked straight ahead. "I'll give you a chance to give up without any consequences." She said with a bit of laughter to her voice.

"Whatever." She grumbled, not wanting to argue anymore and just get to the race. She looked around for the crow and nodded her head. "Fine, I agree." She said.

Ignoring the mare's comment for now, Razi kept his focus on the crow, his ears flicking as he watched the big bird flap its wings and let out two crows as if calling out for a friend who may be sitting somewhere off in the distance.

"Give up? Now why would I give up a perfect opportunity to beat someone like you and knock you down a few pegs? Though, I guess I shouldn't talk since this can go either way right? Either way, let the best horse win then."

With that, the stallion's ears flick once more when the crow let out another caw, signaling the start of the race, and cuing the two to head out, which Razi took no haste to.

Millicent kept her focus on the crow. Her ears flickered a bit, hearing the stallion speak yet again. "There's no talking me out of this." She said, venomously. Her eyes were livid, confident in her belief that she would kick his a**.

As soon as the crow cawed once more, her muscular body bolted forward. Her burst of energy made for longer, fast strides. She wouldn't let him win, not on her life.

Pushing himself, making sure not to push too much as to run out of steam too soon, Razi kept his attention on the trail in front of him. He kept his breathing regular and strides in check while doing his best to keep up and close to the female. Though he wasn't any type of race horse, he was used to long distant running from his nomadic nature.

He could see the forest coming up ahead, which could possibly mean ducking from branches and hoping over any falled logs littering the ground. It didn't matter, it could mean a slow down for one, and a speed up for another, and he wasn't about to let himself become slowed down by anything. No, he was going to show her profession meant nothing. He was going to kick her off whatever platform she was standing on and take his spot in the light.

Millicent only used the small burst of speed to try to give her a lead to the race. She didn't want to deal with either trailing or being side-by-side when it came to being in the forest. The trails often ran more tight, and there were more obstacles to look forward to instead of just the track of ahead of her. She scowled, maybe she should have re-thought about agreeing to the forest. The mare could only hope she came out without any injuries.

As she saw the forest approaching at head, she tried to sneak in front of him. She didn't want to deal with 'sharing the road,' nor did she want to deal with a 'road-hogger'. It would only set her off.

Razi's ears flicked with agitation as he skid to break a bit when the mare rounded out in front of him. Anyone would have told him to try to squeeze past her, but it was a little too late for that. The cushion of the meadow grass was no longer beneath their hooves, only the dirt and dust of the forest floor, which was littered with small plants and the leaves from the forest canopy from above.

The beating of the hooves with the whistles of the wind as they past the trees filled Razi’s ears. He locked his bright blue eyes on the scene in front of him, knowing that if he were ever going to win then he would need to find some way to pass Millicent before they ended up near the river. The option of sliding past her was not an option anywhere near in sight, especially with such a single horse trail they were on.

In a moment of thought, he looked around, a smirk painting its way on his face. He eyed the spaces that weaved through the trees to either side of the path. If he were to take a chance to move off path, the maybe he would have a chance at making it. ‘No one ever said he had to stay on the path…’ Holding his smirk he picked up the pace a bit and made a sharp dart off the path and on to the terrain of the forest for an attempt at passing the mare and gaining victory.

Millicent smirked, knowing now that she was ahead of him; he had no way of getting passed her. She felt good about herself because what could he do now? If he tried to squeeze pass her, she could just move in front of him. The mare felt better with the rougher terrain of the forest floor. It felt like she had more stable ground to get better footing and run on when it was the forest floor.

She was alarmed when she watched caught sight of the stallion heading off a different trail. She scowled—that cheating b*****d! The mare seethed as she picked up the pace. Her strides were long, and stretched out further to gain more distance. In her mind, a mantra of ‘Must win… Must win...’ repeated with a slight bite to it, trying to contain her anger.

The moment the stallion's hooves hit the ground beneath him it seemed as if his mind was putting life on pause, like a slow motion scene in a movie, except in this case one could only hope it wasn't one of those annoying long drags that makes you want to stab yourself while hitting the fast forward button fifty thousand times over, but back to the point here.

The forest grew still, life freezing in front of him as the steady beat of hooves echoed through his head like the beat of a war drum, and this was the point where he was either going to make it, or break it. In his mind being beaten was no longer an option that existed. He HAD to win. He HAD to show her. He just HAD to stomp all over that bitchy a** ego with a smirk on his face and a victory dance in his step, and he knew, just KNEW his bet in mind was just going to hit her hard.

Turning his vivid blue eyes towards the mare, his jackass smirk still in place, he gave a scuff and called out wards her.

"Hey, see ya at the finish line, if you even make it there! If not, well at least you can get a good luck at my a** while it leaves you behind!"

With that said, Razi pushed his body in to overdrive. No drop of energy would be left unused, not now.

He could feel his adrenaline pump through his muscles while all his focus was put on that finish line coming up ahead. Oh, how he wishes he could look back and just get a glimpse of Millicent's face, but that would have to wait.

Millicent ignored everything around her, except the path in front of her. She focused herself to tune out the jackass of a stallion that decided to take an off path. It didn't matter. The off-path probably had more obstructions that the created path, and whatever nonsense he was sputtering at her would be enough distraction for her to a least pull up a couple more inches.

She didn't hold back. Her head was kept low, and every movement made was purely for the speed. The finish line wasn't too far. She decided. The mare had no clue on the status of the stallion's whereabouts.

The finish line was in reach and within sights. Oh, victory shall be hers!

The stallion paid no mind to anything around him as his jackass smirk played on his lips. In his mind winning would as easy as kicking a stone. Well easy depending on the stone's size anyway. It would be quite a pity if he for some reason through a rabbit sized stone was an easy thing to kick. But then again if the mare were around she might get a kick out of it.

Pushing on, Razi's train of through was broken by the blur of bronze out of the corner of his eye. He could has sworn she was far behind, at least she was the last time her looked by. But now it seemed Millicent was gaining on him with every passing second.

Cussing under his breathe, he looked to his side to see the bronze mare neck in neck with himself. What seemed like a sure win would now be a photo finish to the finish line.

It would seemed like a slow motion scene, Razi closed his eyes and pushed forth was energy he had left as his hooves cracked down on the earth that was the finish line...

Millicent could see the finish line getting closer and closer. At her peripherals, the stallion was pulling up closer to the finish line as well. It seems like she underestimated the damned bright stallion. She was determined she was not going to go down this day. She wanted to wipe that cocky a** smirk of that damned stallion's face.

They were cutting it close. She was getting a little sloppy. The terrain wasn't her favorite, and she couldn't keep watch on her surroundings and the path before her.

It wasn't until the last couple yards that her hoof landed awkwardly on an root that she rolled her front right ankle. The mare grimaced, slowing down for a little bit to prevent on landing on the hoof roughly as she tried to push on. She had lost speed and the momentum that propelled her forward. <******** my luck.'
