A bright sun rose up to the sky. It was quite windy today actually. The trees are dancing happily with the morning breeze that filled the area with its slight chill. Flowers bloom upon the sunlight that shimmered down with its bright and warmth glory. A Poochyena stood in front of the Bulletin Board along with her new recruit, Roxana. Nadia scoured several missions that are pinned down on the wooden board. The rainbow-colored Vulpix then approached the board to take a closer look. She should at least help her find a mission. “What about this?” asked Nadia, gesturing a paw to a piece of sheet on her right. Roxana then tilted her head to the paper Nadia was referring to. “N-No, it sounds quite difficult...” She shook her head repeatedly. “Perhaps we s-should pick something much easier?” Roxana admitted she is very timid. That's why she tries to be bolder every day, though she barely made any progress so far.

After reviewing all the available missions, Roxana glared at the wooded board and looked over the missions again. “W-We ve never looked a-at this one before.” She pointed at another piece of sheet placed on the bottom right of the wooden board. “Let’s read it.” Nadia then began to read the description out loud.

Dear rescue teams.
Today is the Annual Novice Team Tournament. My brother still thinks that I’m a still weakling when I was a kid. But now, I’m going to prove him wrong. I promised myself that I would meet him in the tournament, face to face. The problem is that I don’t have a team to enter with me in the tournament. Please, this tournament really means so much to me.

Roxana paused. She didn’t say a word while she began to get lost in her thoughts. ‘Being in an r-rescue team means y-you have to be brave. T-Thats the reason...why I joined the t-team; to overcome my shyness.’ Nadia cocked an eyebrow as she glanced to the rainbow Vulpix whom is now lost in thought. “Roxana? Roxana? Is something wrong?” She waved a paw in front of her. “Wha-what?!” Roxana shrieked in fright. When she realized she was drifted too long, she blushed and looked to the ground, embarrassed.

So, should we take this mission?” Nadia asked, hoping she would say yes. She looked at the Poochyena and gave her nod. Nadia looked at the paper before looking back at her. “Well, it’s the easiest mission we came across today, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt. Though, it says we’re going to be on a team with a Tyrogue in a tournament, are you sure to pick this mission?” She asked once again, reassuring herself if she had second thoughts. Roxana seems to be the type who avoids battles at all cause, but in tournament? Is she serious? “I-I ve been in a war with Darkrai before, r-remember? I think I-I could handle a tournament.” Nadia shrugged. “Umm...okay. Let’s go then.” She said, before leading Roxana to Warrior’s Plateau.

--------------------

The two arrived their destination not long after they departed from the guild. Roxana glanced to the giant plateau stood up ahead. “This p-plateau is quite big!” She said, shielding her eyes from the sunlight. Soon, they spotted a Tyrogue, waiting for their arrival, not far from the spot they stood on. “Good, you two came here earlier than I expected!” The Tyrogue then called them out. “We will be pleased to assist you in the tournament.” She addressed him with a bow, trying to be polite as much as possible. “You should know that my name is Rick and yours are..?” Nadia stepped aside, showing the rainbow Vulpix who is hiding behind her. “My name is Nadia and this is Roxana.” Roxana gave a quick blush as the Poochyena pointed at her direction.

Rick glared at the colorful Vulpix. Her fur was bright and cheerful. He had never seen a Pokemon like her before. He looked away, blushing meaning he was embarrassed that he realized he was staring at her a little bit long. He took a deep breath before explaining the tournament. “Okay, let me explain,” He gave a serious look before continuing his sentences. “So far, I already registered the team. The tournament is quite easy. There are 3 rounds and they all located in different floors. The first round is on the 7th floor, the second is on the 13th floor, and last round is on the 15th floor. Every team consist 3 Pokemon like our team. First team we’re up against is Combusken’s team. All we have to do is take out every team we face on every round. Mostly like a single elimination tournament but in a team. I don’t know if we’re going to make it or not, but let’s do our best!” Nadia soon gave a nod in response. “Got it!” She rushed to Rick’s side along with Roxana on his other side, forming a triangle-like formation.

------------------------

The sun is shining down harsh. And this rocky place isn’t helping either. It feels like a desert. Though, the wind often blows to lower the heat down. The team climbed through the plateau. Rick seems to know a lot of Warrior’s Plateau since he actually lives here. “Is it always this hot here?” Nadia asked. “No, not really. It usually much more hotter.” He said calmly. The Poochyena looked a bit surprised. Really? Hotter? Ugh, Nadia could already guess she wouldn’t like this place at all. Hope this mission won’t take too long…

Soon they arrived at an unstable land. There are cracks everywhere. “Watch your step.” Rick said, cautiously stepping through the rough land. Nadia was last to step in the cracks. Suddenly, a crack crumbled then followed by a few more cracks surrounding it. “Ahh!” The Poochyena panicked, rushing to the Vulpix and Tyrogue. But she was too late. She fell down onto the ground. She moaned. “Ugh..R-Roxana? Rick? Can you hear me? Hello?” She struggled to get back on her feet and looked up the hole it made. She kept calling them out, but they didn’t respond. She could only hear her echoes through the cave. The Poochyena finally looked around. It looked some sort of an underground cavern. She never saw an underground cavern before. “W-Where am I?” Getting the dirt off of her gray fuzzy fur.

Nadia’s ear twitched as she heard footsteps in the cavern. She’s isn’t alone in here. “W-Who’s there?” A dark blue blur dashed behind her. When she turned around, nothing was there. Her right ear twitched as a glowing yellow Heracross slammed onto the Poochyena. But then her whole body turned black and disappeared, causing the attack to fail. “Damn it, where’d she go?” The Heracross cursed her. He turned to every direction with wary.

As the Poochyena appeared on top of the Pokemon, she launched herself and did a flip as her bushy tail glowed purple. She then slammed her tail onto him as he looked up. He moaned by the pain. Nadia jumped backwards and looked him when he got up. He showed his little bug wings and flew up. “EAT THIS!” He hovered to Nadia with full speed while making buzzing noises. With her guard down, the Heracross successfully struck an Ariel Ace at the Poochyena. She fell to the ground but quickly she was back on her feet and fired a Dark Pulse.

The battle continues as white eyes gazed behind the darkness. It blinked a few times. Looks like somebody have been lurking the whole time. “This is…quite interesting.” It murmured. “I have never seen a Poochyena living in here before.” It paused for a moment by the time Nadia was thrown into the wall by the Heracross. She slumped down onto the ground, panting. She couldn’t get up. “It’s time to end this.” The Pokemon said, as his horn glows a faint red. Without any hesitation, he charged himself to the Poochyena. She glared at him with fright. Could this be her end?

Everything went blank as a figure stood bravely in front of her. It looked like a Riolu. But it has a chocolate fluffy tail and Eevee ears. In fact, he looked a lot like an Eevee. Though, he has white gray-like eyes. Can he be blind? No, it can’t be. He seems to act like a normal Pokemon. “That’s enough. Would you really harm a girl?” He said, charging up Counter to unleash on the Megahorn coming his way. Nadia froze when a stranger suddenly appeared just to save her life. The Riolu didn’t take any damage from the blow because of his Counter he just unleashed to the attack. Instead, it hit the Heracross with double damage. “I worked so hard to get my winning streak; I’m not going to end it NOW!” He snapped at the Riolu. The Riolu didn’t care, the white bumps on the back of the Riolu’s forepaws glow blue and grew slightly thicker as he performed a Sword Dance before stepping up to the Heracross. He put his right arm at the Heracross’s forehead and a bright light came from it. The light dramatically grew brighter as it became a beam and shot the Heracross. He fell on his knees followed by his body.

Are you alright?” the Riolu inquired. He turned his attention to the weak Poochyena. “I-I’m fine.” She answered. He offered his hand to help her get back on her feet. “Are you lost young lady? There’s a stair over there if you want to get out of this carvern.” He pointed to the stairs that Nadia just noticed with a grin. She tilted her head to the stairs then back to the Riolu, but he already left. She didn’t even get to know his name. ‘Wow, that’s just creepy, even though I do that sometimes with Shadow Force.’ She thought as she walked to the stairs, revealing her to a very different floor she’s not familiar with. “Now where the heck I am now?” She thought out loud. Then she heard someone called her name in a familiar voice. “Nadia! W-Where did y-you go?” A Vulpix ran towards her. “You’re just in time for the first round.” A Tyrogue finished her sentence. “Roxana? Rick? What’s going on?” The stair she climbed up was a stair that leads to the 7th floor.

The clueless Poochyena noticed there is a large floor at the center of the floor. It looked like the ones in tournaments. There is a few Pokemons cheering at the sidelines. Overall, the floor is filled with all kind of items that involves in a tournament. She turned to her left. She saw two Mankeys and a Combusken stood at the other side. “You mean, this is the first round?!” She said, surprised. And she’s going to fight more Pokemons after her battle against that Heracross? Oh boy, this is going to be bad.

Rick explained what happened after she fell into the underground cavern. It’s quite true; Roxana and Rick didn’t hear anything Nadia shouted at the bottom of the cavern. After they passed the unstable area, they began to notice Nadia wasn’t following them. But they knew she would show up soon so they continued to walk aimlessly onto the first round. ‘No fair, why do they have to walk when I have to battle a Heracross right before the first round.’ She thought to herself as she stared at the Vulpix and Tyrogue. Nadia told them what happened. But she didn’t mention about the Riolu that saved her life. “I’m sure you’ll do fine.” Rick reassured her. That’s not the kind of answer she was expecting.

The two teams stood in opposite sides and with the same triangle formation. A bell rang like every tournament does when a round starts. The Mankeys jumped in front of Roxana and Rick. Each with their arms glow a white light then formed an ‘X’ style with them, they were about to unleash a Cross Chop. Nadia stepped back then looked on top of her, revealing a Combusken with one claw glowing white. The Poochyena jumped while her tail glows purple. As she was face-to-face with the Combusken, she turned around and slammed her tail. Though, the Combusken was quick, he send a Sky Uppercut to her stomach as her tail collided with his body. Ouch, that has to be painful. At least it didn’t hurt to hit a vital organ or something. The two falls onto the ground and each landed on their feet. Nadia finally felt the pain as she landed on the ground. ‘Ack, why did he have to hit me so hard?’ She thought to herself.

Rick threw his arms back and charged to the Mankeys while Roxana intensified the sun to boost her Fire-type attacks before creating a colorful fire vortex that surrounded the Mankeys. “WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! IS THIS SOME KIND OF A TRICK?!” One of the Mankey’s complained. Their arms stopped glowing and they both stepped back, trying their best not to get too close to the fiery vortex or catch on fire. They kept stepping back until they hit each other’s back. By the time the vortex ended, the Tyrogue jumped and grinned at them before Fake Out the two Mankeys. It blew the two Mankeys back and onto the Combusken that was behind them. The three soon fainted. “The winner of this round is Rick’s team!” The referee announced as the crowd cheers. “Good luck on your next round.” The referee said once again before leaving the three to go to the next round. “Well, let’s go then.” Rick said, looking both at Roxana and Nadia.

After a few, long climbing, the team decided to take a break. Nadia lowered her head for the bag she usually carries in missions slip out of her body. Roxana’s stomach growled slightly as a few Apples rolled out of the bag. Nadia and Rick both giggled as they heard the growl. The colorful Vulpix blushed, embarrassed. “Of course you can have a few of the Apples, Roxana.” The Poochyena said, understanding that she was hungry. The Poochyena shoved the Apples at Roxana before giving her a smile. She then shyly nibbles on them one by one.

Nadia soon grabbed a few Apples for herself. “Here, have a Big Apple.” She looked to her client, offering a Big Apple from the bag. “No, no. You deserve the Big Apple. I’m the one who should be eating the Apples. After all, you’re the one that got into a fight right before the first round. You should build up your strength.” He gave the Big Apple back to her. She looked at the Big Apple before looking back at the Tyrogue. “Umm…if you want to.” He was her client. She has no choice but to obey him. The client is always right. Well, not really.

She pushed her Apples in front of Rick while she munched on the Big Apple. ‘Mhm..this is yummy.’ She tasted her food before swallowing it. Roxana was still nibbling on her last Apple. She is always a slow eater. Munch, chew, snuffle-slurp. “Ahh, now this is the best part.” Rick said, rubbing his stomach. “Yeah, I’m full.” She encouraged him. Roxana finally finished her Apples. “You, finished?” Rick asked the Vulpix. She nodded shyly. “We should really be going now for the second round.” The Poochyena finally said. “Eh, right. Let’s go.” And with that, Rick led the team to the next round.

The next round is quite nearby than going all the way from the entrance of Warrior’s Plateau to the 7th floor. The floor has a lot of common on the last round, except the color is different. This one was blue-themed, unlike the last one, it was red. The crowd chanted as Nadia, Roxana, and Rick arrived at their destination. A Croagunk was hopping in front of them. “Good luck at the match. May the best team win.” He said, narrowing his eyes. After a few preparations, the two teams already stood on the matt. At the right, there is Rick’s team and on the left is the Croagunk’s team. There is a Machop and a Sandshrew stood behind him. They could be his team members. Soon the bell rang and Roxana already made her first move. She trapped her opponent’s team into a large Fire Spin. The Sandshrew tilted his head to the right and left to see nothing but the fire vortex. He curled into a ball and spins so quickly that it eliminates the Vulpix’s vortex that surrounded them. Roxana stepped back as the Sandshrew then tackled her. She Flamethrowed the Sandshrew away from her and the Pokemon fell back where he came from.

The Machop launched himself and Karate Chopped Rick. He pulled his arms together in front of him in an ‘X’ style to at least lower the damage. While he tried to defend himself from the fury punches coming his way, he released a bolt of blue electricity to Nadia. She felt a bit more powerful than ever. She rushed to the Machop and Crunched his arm. “ARGH!!” He enraged as he swayed his arm right and left. He finally shook the Poochyena off and looked to his bitten arm. It has two bite marks in it. “You’re going to pay for that!” He swung a glowing fist at her. She fell to the ground, groaning.

The Croagunk that have been watching his two team members handle the fight; he soon shot multiple poisonous darts at Roxana from range. Nadia opened her eyes and saw the darts coming. She quickly got up and shoved Roxana away from the darts, replacing the Vulpix’s place with herself. Though, she almost avoided all of the darts. She soon fell to the ground once again, poisoned. “N-Nadia!” She cried. She held the unconscious Poochyena tightly. The colorful Vulpix glowed white and soon, she glowed white too. A moment later, Roxana felt her moved and sighed in relief.

Nadia looked behind Roxana, and saw the Machop she bit earlier charging. She soon escaped from Roxana’s grip. She looked at her with a nod. “Let’s do it!” She said, excitedly. The Machop stopped for a moment. What would those two team members are up to? The Vulpix made another Fire Spin. It headed towards the Machop. Nadia blasted a beam of purple circles at the vortex and made it into a black fire vortex. It hit the Pokemon and flings him aside. Now it’s time for the Croagunk’s turn to get his butt-kicked.

Rick released another bolt of blue lightning at Nadia. She once felt a bit powerful once again. Roxana intensify the sun, to make her Fire-type based attacks stronger. Once the two was buffed up, Nadia released another Dark Pulse at the Croagunk while Roxana released another Flamethrower at him. The two ranged attacks morphed together into a black flamethrower just like the Fire Spin combination. The Croagunk stood frozen, letting the attack hit him. He fell to the ground, fainted. “Yeah! You guys did it!” Rick exclaimed.

The winner of this round is Rick’s team!” The referee then announced. “Congratulations, you’re going into the finals! Good luck, your opponent is quite tough.” He then left the floor. The crowd cheered for Rick’s team. Nadia felt like a hero as she heard the crowd chanted her name. “I feel loved.” She giggled. “C’mon guys, I want to slaughter my brother already!” And so, he led the way to the last round, where he would meet with his brother. Why does he know he’ll be facing his brother? You could say that his brother is a pretty tough guy.

Getting to the final round was MUCH easier than the other rounds. This time, the place was green-themed, nothing special, really. It’s just the exact same items except the colors are different. Rick looked around and he was right. His opponent in the final round is his brother. The two exchanged glances. “Hey wimp. I bet your opponent in the other round is just a wimp like you, that’s why you made it to the finals, right?” He mocked him. He tumbled down to the Tyrogue. Rick’s brother was actually a Hitmontop. “Rodrick, where’s my rewards?” A voice called the Hitmontop. “You mean ours?” Another voice replied. “Shut up!” A Flygon and a Electabuzz appeared over the edge of the crowd. Wait…his name is Rodrick?! That’s odd, since Nadia and Roxana’s client’s name is Rick while his brother name is Rodrick. You only need to add the ‘Rod’ part at the beginning. It sounds more like a twin then just a sibling.

Just a sec! Can’t you all be damn patient for once? Sheesh.” He grumbled. The Hitmontop then tumbled back to the crowd and disappear out of sight with the other Pokemon. Nadia looked to Rick. “Their reward? Does that mean your brother hired a rescue team too?” He didn’t answer. “Oh well, let’s go, Roxana.” She then dragged her teammate to prepare for the finals.

Before the bell rang, the usual referee stood at the center of the floor. “This is the final round! The round that will determine the winners of this Novice Tournament! Now let the battle, BEGIN!” He lifted and arm while the bell rang, as usual. The Electabuzz started to Thunderbolt Roxana aimlessly while she started to Flamethrow him aimlessly. “You can’t avoid my electric forever, sweetie.” He mocked. “N-N-Neither do you!” Nadia sneaked to the Flygon with her Shadow Force. The Flygon quickly turned and tried to the slash her. She bailed her attack and dodged the attack. “You’re a quick one, hun~” He flirted. “You should know that if you underestimate someone, you’ll die.” The Poochyena replied with an evil grin. “Is that so~?” He swung another Dragon Claw.

As Rick’s team mates was too busy with avoiding and dodging, Rick himself is busy with his own business with his brother. “Come on? Are you much of a coward to attack me first? If you’re not going to do anything, THEN I WILL!” He spun around and started to kick Rick’s sides. Rick began to spin around. Somehow, he recognized the move. ‘It’s Rolling Kick!’ He thought as he waited the right moment. He soon grabbed his brother’s feet, a bit dizzy from spinning around a lot. Rodrick gasped. “Well, well, well. You improved all this time..I could be wrong about you…NOT!” Rick lost grip of his feet and he spun around one more time and launched Rapid Spin, causing the Tyrogue to fell backwards. The Hitmontop stopped and stood up with his feet while his brother got up. Rick quickly rushed to his brother and launched Secret Power. He actually has an impressive move after all. Maybe he saved this move for this battle. Strength was launched because of the environment and tossed him up in the air. Without hesitation, the move is followed by a Tackle and tackled him farther head-first. The Hitmontop fell to the floor and made a huge crack on the floor. “Urghh..” He groaned. As Rick fell to the ground, fine. He cautiously looked at his brother when he jumped back up and spun round with white balls on his hands. ‘Could that be..Gyro Ball?’ Rick thought. “I AM NOT GOING TO BE BEATEN BY SOME WIMP LIKE YOU!” He snapped. He tried to tackle the Tyrogue, but instead being frozen or trying to dodge, Rick used Tackle. The two tackles collide each other, making a white flash that blinded a few Pokemon’s eyes including the Flygon and the Electabuzz.

Nadia’s tail glowed purple and smacked the Flygon with a critical damage. Roxana intensify the sun with Sunny Day quickly and fired a few Flamethrowers at the Electabuzz. The two fell flat to the ground. But what happened to Rick and Rodrick? When the white flash faded and everyone can see clearly again, Rodrick is laid in the floor and Rick is standing in front of him, though he was panting. “What happened, Rick?” asked Nadia. “I-I don’t know.” Anyone in here can’t really describe the situation clearly. Though, the important thing is that Rick wins and Rodrick loses.

And the winners of this Novice Tournament are…Rick and his team, Nadia and Roxana!” The referee announced happily. The crowd cheered. “Y-You guys did it! You helped me beat my brother and win the tournament.” Rick said happily. “You beat him yourself, Rick, and I’m so happy for you.” Nadia gave a smile. “But..you guys helped me went through the whole tournament, so I have to thank you guys.” Rick started to be emotional. Nadia blushed. “Let’s get back to the guild.” The Poochyena then searched through the bag she’s holding for the badge. “R-Right.” Roxana replied shyly. They soon teleported through the badge back to the guild.

------------------------
Shortly after Nadia extracted the badge, she felt a weight crash against her side. The badge went off regardless, forcing Nadia and Roxana back, along with Rick. As well as a fourth member.

Nadia twirled about, her teeth bared at the unknown assailant. Her growl ceased when she noticed it was the strange... Riolu? That had saved her earlier. "Ah, dreadfully sorry about that. Judging from your aura, you're the young miss from earlier, right?" He extended a friendly hand forward for a handshake. "I was wondering if I could join your team?" A wide, earnest smile marked his face.

Rick watched the exchange in confusion. Who was this, exactly? He shook his head slightly, slapping his cheeks with his hands to retain his focus. "Please, have this. It's the least I can do to thank you." Rick handed a small pouch of bright-red powder. It seemed to crackle and burn constantly, although it never caught flame. "It's said if you put this on your hands, your every punch will burn with the conviction of your strength." Once Rick had left the bag with Roxana (who took it rather hesitantly) he looked back at the Riolu for a moment. "You know, I don't really have any reason to stay there now that I beat my brother. Do you guys think I could stay with you? I think I could get a lot stronger if I helped people like you do."

As well, the Electabuzz from earlier appeared. "After that idiot's awful fighting and crappy attitude, I broke off the team with him. Like I need some crap like him slowing me down!" He raised a finger arrogantly in the air and wagged it slightly. "BUT! I'll allow you the privilege of letting me join."

((You may take one of the three~

Also, it was good overall. Mostly, you should work on improving your grammar and sentence flow. You also had one or two spelling errors I believe.

Also, Roxana was rather quiet, it felt.

Edit~ In case it wasn't clear, the powder is the Fire Punch TM.))

{{Nuu, not the overall again D; ~headdesks~ Oh and yeah..she's kinda..uhh..quiet ^^;;}}

"Umm..I'm sorry I growled at you. I thought you were somebody else." The Poochyena blushed embarrassedly. "Thanks for saving my life, by the way. Feel free to join the team, if you like." She kept blushing. The Riolu smiled like he didn't notice her vicious growl at all. "My name is Luke and I shall join your adventures from now on." He gave a polite bow. "That's a nice name.."

She erased her blush and turned to the two other Pokemons. "I'm sorry guys, you should stick on your own. We're not accepting more new recruits." What she really meant is that she's too lazy to train and give some more tours for the new recruits. But she'll give an exception for Luke. Roxana managed to stick her tounge out at the Electabuzz as they both left. First, he got beaten by a shy and timid Vulpix. Second, he got declined to join a rescue team. What king of bad luck is next for him?

Roxana looked at the Poochyena. "A-And where d-did you two g-guys met?" Inquired the confused Vulpix. She never met him in the mission before, nor Nadia did ever mentioned him either. "Umm..uhh..let me explain when we're back at the team room." She said nervously. She doesn't know how to explain it to her.

To be precise, I talked to him about it. He's buried under school work and he hasn't had adequate spare time to write 12+ pages for several weeks and likely won't for at least another week by which time it would expire.

A Poochyena smiled before the bulletin board, her black lips pulled back to reveal an array of sharp teeth.
"Treasure, treasure, treasure~!"
At her side her masked companion heaved a sigh.
"I sense this wont end well..." The Vulpix complained, but his partner was already prancing out the door with the mission's parchment rolled up between her teeth.

[Reserved for Team Hunter]

‘It's party night tonight, just like every night; and once again, you've death defied.’

Music blared from the headphones looped over short pointed ears.

Harley waited, as she usually did, for that last sliver of daylight to pass from the sky and a black sheet to fall over the world. It was in darkness she felt most comfortable, where her dark pelt was nearly invisible and glassy orange eyes could see past the smothering shadows that wrapped around everything.

‘And how are those things that crawled up inside your head? Polish off this bottle and pour yourself into bed.’

Through the window of her team room, the Poochyena narrowed her eyes against the sharp blaze of sunlight that pushed through the glass. It was a challenge to see who would blink first and with a smirk of those sharp teeth she watched the sun dip behind the horizon.
“Loser.” She remarked before turning to swiftly take her leave of the room to seek out her companion.

‘And you're sick all the time -It's a constant battle with sunshine -But I love the way you electrify.’

+-+-+

“Turn that trash down, Harley.” His voice was generally muffled from behind his mask, but the Poochyena had spent enough time with Kit to know what he was saying regardless.

She raised a paw to tug loose an earpiece before snapping her teeth impatiently at him. The young, but old at heart, Fire type had no taste in music.
She did not turn her music down, rather she turned it off.
Possibly to satisfy herself that 'technically' she still did not listen to him.

The two canine-like Pokemon sat side by side near the paths that lead up the large plateau. The sheer climb itself was daunting, but what had the Vulpix more irritable was Harley’s insistence that they go on this mission despite her having a weakness to the multiple Fighting types that called this area home.

With the music off, Kitsune resumed his meticulous counting of their supplies before placing each Apple in the middle compartment of the bag and then checking to ensure his Blast Seed had not gotten wet. Surely water would ruin the items effect.

“What’s that there?” Harley asked suddenly, peering past him to the orb in the side pocket of the bag.

“Sunny Orb. It’ll make my Fire attacks stronger.” Therefore giving him a better chance of keeping his foolish friend alive against the horde of warriors they would soon face.

This, of course, went unsaid. Harley would take offense to any and everything he uttered if he wasnt careful. Her entire existence seemed to be balanced between hunting treasure and being angry.
If she wasnt angry, she was hunting. If she wasnt hunting, she was usually angry.

Growing bored once again, Harley turned her attention to the steep climb that lay ahead of them and an almost mischievous expression flicked across her face.
It faded so quickly that Kitsune found himself wondering if he had just imagined it.

"Ready now, Kit?"

"Let's get this over with."

"ONWARD!" With lightning fast speed the Poochyena was rushing toward the start of the path, a laugh echoing behind her to her partner's ears.

Kit's expression behind his mask was of dismay.

Hurrying to catch up with Harley he nearly collided with her when she hit the brakes.
"What the h-" Laying on the ground before the Poochyena's paws was a Drifloon. It seemed to be partially deflated and it's 'X'-shaped mouth was wide open.
"Is it...is it dead?"
In response Harley raised a paw to poke at it lightly and it expelled air in a hiss at her. The dog sprang upward in alarm and took a few steps back.

"Oh-oh you arent them! Oh good! I was playing dead, you know. It keeps-it keeps them from bothering you. They have no use for a dead Drifloon..."

"You are the one who sent that message then? The call for help?"

"YES!" The Drifloon inhaled, reflating itself and floating upward in apparent joy. "I've been down here waiting for you explorers! Please! You must assist us! They have captured my friends and taken them up the Platuea. I do not know what they mean to do with them, but I am so frightened that I cant do a thing..."

Harley and Kit exchanged glances.
"Well, I suppose we'd best hurry then?"

"Last one up is a rotten egg!" The Poocheyena declared before soaring past the Drifloon that, in it's alarm, had grabbed onto her tail as she swished by and was dragged along for the ride.

Kit groaned and was quick to follow once more...

+-+-+-+-+

Climbing the plateua was a pain. The rocks were uncomfortable on her pads and the Drifloon still latched onto her tail would not stop fretting.
Harley was beginning to lose patience. They had climbed so high and yet there was no sign of any Pokemon at all!
The Poochyena glanced down off the side of the path to the sheer drop back down to the bottom and barred her teeth at it.

Attention directed on the land below she walked headlong into a large boulder that blocked the path ahead.
"OOF!"

"Smooth one."

"Shut your mouth, Kitsune!"

The Vulpix gave a light chuckle and stepped past her to examine the rock while she rubbed her nose in pain.
It was strange how this obstruction was here. It certainly did not fall from anywhere because it was placed in such a way that it was obvious it was meant as a blockade.

"Now what?"

"What do you mean 'now what'? We get Driffy-boy here to float us over it."

"Wha-wha-"

"YOU HEARD ME BLIMP! CARRY US OVER THE ROCK!"
The Drifloon began to hyperventilate, it's head inflating and deflating rapidly at the Poochyena's angry shout.
He was wondering whether it had been worth it to escape those Fighting Type only to become this dog's slave.

Kitsune rolled his eyes from beneath his mask and gave Harley a shove with his paw.
"Ignore her, she likes to hear herself yell. If you would kindly help us over this rock we would be much appreciated."

Ah, that was better. The Drifloon puffed out and wound its stringy arms around the Poochyena, who was closest, to lift her up into the air. Harley gave a small whine as the strings swayed and swung her a few inches over the edge of the path, but the Drifloon had a firm grip and he easily glided upward to the other side of the rock to-

Pain exploded in the Poochyena's head, she was suddenly dropped as the Drifloon was ripped away from her.
Orange eyes flickered upward to find a large Machoke holding the Drifloon by its strings. The poor Ghost bounced around desperate to get free.
Harley finally realized where the pain had come from. Of course it was a Mega Punch, the large fighting type's hand was still pulsating with the energy of the attack.

Behind the rock she heard Kitsune's panicked yelps as he tried to get to her, but there was no way he could with that boulder in the way.

"I see we have some intruders snooping around." The larger Pokemon said, a glint in his eyes. It paused to tie the Drifloon to a metal pole that was sticking out of the ground before what appeared to be a cave. They had been RIGHT THERE.
"I'm afraid you wont be allowed to leave. No one can learn of our plans here..."

Harley's eyes were wide and starring at the Machoke as it lumbered forward, it's powerful arms swinging back and forth.
Terror shook her core, she could not hear Kitsune's desperate cries for her to run.

Her mind drifted, recalling the first time she'd ever seen this particular species of Pokemon and her heart plunged into her stomach...

[Whoo, whoo, POV switch alert! Backstory time! ;D]

Mud cakes my gray fur. It sloshes beneath my paws, it grinds between my toes, and it fills up my lupine nostrils with its rotting odor. I can even taste its bitterness in my mouth. But still, I keep running. Through the water-swollen trees and around their roots I run. Their lowest branches slap my eyes; the plants pull at my hide. But still, I run. The rain from the dark sky above fills my eyes and soaks my fur. But I do not stop for shelter. He is hunting me, that human. I can hear him now, shouting at me, yelling at me to stop. But he cannot fool me. I know what he wants. Once he finds me, his prize, he will bring out a terrible ball. One that explodes with a blinding light and grabs hold of whatever it touches, trapping its victim in some place unknown.

His yelling is far behind me now. My water-clogged ears can at least tell me that. Despite being young and masculine, my legs and paws ache, on fire and yet still cold from the wind and from the rain. I want to keep running, away from that dreadful creature, but my body collapses, giving in to sweet rest. All I want to do is rest.

My heavy eyelids close, giving me no time to protest.

I remember, I dream. My Mother cradled me against her soft, warm belly. The sun shone above us, bathing us in its delight. In a clearing somewhere deep in the forest we lounge, surrounded by the fragrant flowers and grass of summer. Her large canine body, so much stronger than mine, was covered with beautiful, soft silver fur. Long, black as night hair rolled off her back and flowed down into her tail. I thought she was a beautiful creature, so different from me. My clumsy paws of puppy-hood could scarcely keep up with her sleek, long, black legs. A black star rested on my nose, and dingy gray fur wrapped around my body. Mother said my fur reminded her of the glorious stars, but I thought her moon-toned fur was infinitely more beautiful.

We spent many days together, frolicking and napping under the sun. One day, however, a tall human came. His wiry grey hair extended out from his head in frightening sharp angles. His dark, narrow eyes glanced at my mother, but rested on me. My eyes had never seen a human before, but this one frightened me.

His lips curled back over perfect square teeth, and from his pocket he pulled out a strange red and white ball. My Mother, who had been laying next to me, jumped up in front of me. The black fur on her back stood up tall, and she bared her sharp white teeth.

My orange eyes widened, I had never seen her like that. The man threw the small ball at me, and I squawked in fear. That same emotion, however, paralyzed my legs, and I simply stood there unmoving.

The ball spun towards me, but with a powerful stroke of her dark tail, my Mother sent the ball back to its pitcher. The human growled at her, and she growled back. Every muscle in her body was quivering, ready to attack. In front of me she stood, unwilling to surrender me to this creature that had invited itself into our home.

The man sneered, and took another ball out of his pocket and flung it to the ground. A large purple-grey Pokemon that looked similar to a human appeared. Around its waist was a gold belt, and three short yellow fins stood on top of its head. Where it came from I was not sure, but my fear of those red and white balls was growing inside me, a seed spreading its insidious roots into my soul.

But my Mother was there; she would protect me. The other Pokemon hollered, "Machoke" was its battle cry. It charged towards us, my mother lunged at it. Her razor-sharp teeth sank into its throat, and it shrieked in pain. With its two powerful red-striped arms it ripped her away and threw her onto the ground. She landed with a yelp, and her cry shattered the glass of my heart.

The tall purple Pokemon gripped its bleeding neck, and looked at her with daggers in its eyes. The fear in me began to grow! But Mother stood up on trembling and weak paws, the strength of a mother protecting her daughter shining in her eyes. With a shout from its human master, the Pokemon drew its right fist back. Mother leapt at it, teeth again aimed at its throat. But that fist! It struck my Mother's chest in mid-leap, and the determination in her eyes was instantly shut out. She landed on the ground, her eyes closed, her muscles unmoving.

My howls of terror did not wake her, but I saw that she was still breathing. That man grinned, not with pleasure or gaiety, but with a sick satisfaction that made my stomach churn. He threw the ball at her, and it exploded with light, sucking my Mother up into itself, away from me. Hot tears streamed down my cheeks and I started to run for the ball that had stolen my Mother, but that wicked man's eyes again turned to me.

The seed of fear blossomed in me, and with all its anger and all its torment, I ran.

My eyes fly open, adrenaline pumps through my veins. I am awake, in the past memory, I am running as quickly as I can. Along with the rain, hot tears drip down my cheeks. I got away from that man, the one that stole my Mother. But he got away with my soul. It had been weeks, months since that day.
I have been hunted. Every day, every hour, I have been hunted. I want to be alone! I want to rest. I want to sleep once again under the sun, with her.

I hear my current hunter. She is close. I push my unwilling legs under me, and lift up my water-heavy body. Again I run. My paws throb with every touch of the forest floor. My lungs burn with the dry cold of exhaustion. But that human will not touch me. I will not allow it to touch me.

My head feels heavy, the trees and plants and rain twist and contort around me. A vine hiding under the mud grabs me, and pulls me down to the ground. My body sinks into the soft earth, unable to answer my desperate commands to get up. The forest begins to swirl around me; dizziness invades my aching mind. Is this it for me? Will that vile creature find me and stuff me into one of those balls?

I hear a soft footstep in front of me. It is not the clumsy step of a human. I open an eye and look up. A beautiful creature stands in front of me. Tall and slender is its slightly canine body. Despite the rain, its fur is pristine. That wondrous fur flows over its nine tails, each soft and clean among the darkness of this night. At first that fur looks pure white, but it is really a lavender so pale that it shines like snow.

It looks at me with eyes as red as the flowers of summer, not with hate, or pity, or jealousy, or even love, but with understanding.

The tears stop coming as I look into those eyes, and I don't even care that my hunter is getting closer. A new emotion sparks within me. It is hope. For the first time I feel this wonderful and yet fragile emotion. Holding my breath, I look questioningly into those understanding eyes.

It speaks to me in a masculine, yet gentle voice. "You have suffered enough, young Poochyena. I will protect you now."

Those words sink into me, a welcome invitation amid so much pain. Unable to move or speak, a smile weakly makes its way to my lips, and I relax my muscles. For the first time in so long, I rest.

My savior gently picks me up in his mouth and with the swiftness of a raging wildfire takes me away. Away from my hunter, away from the humans, away from some of my pain, and into the hidden parts of the forest he carries me.

How I miss those days under the sun. But now, for me, a new life must begin. One day, however, I will find her again. Then, my Mother and I can frolic once more.

Until then I will not run. I will not flee like prey.
They hunted me, but now it is they whole will be chased, they who will be hunted.

I am the hunter now.

"Harley! Harley!"

Reality snapped back with a bite, sinking it's teeth into her head. The Machoke had advanced on her without her knowing it, it's fist reared back and hot, white light was shimmering over its knuckles.

Her orange eyes widended, the muscles of her legs tensed to spring. She would go for the throat, go for the throat...

Kitsune must have sensed her intentions for he was rushing toward her.
Wait, hadnt he been trapped behind that rock? How did he-
the rock had been destroyed burned into ash that was easily being blown away by the wind.
She never knew he could do that. Kitsune had many secrets it seemed.

His black paws pounded a quick staccato on the ground before he leaped into the air, tumbling into a Fire Spin.
As Harley looked up, just as he soared over the Machoke's head and the sun behind him blinded her.

The pale light lit up his fur and for a moment she saw the beautifully pale Ninetales that had saved her long ago.

Kitsune crashed down into the Fighters back, sending them both slamming into the ground.
Without pause the Poochyena rushed to her friend's aid. Her teeth burned, ached to sink into something.
She opened her mouth as she got within range and clamped down onto the back of the Machoke's neck.

She did not let go. Not when she felt bones splinter beneath her jaw, or blood spay upward into the back of her throat.
It was only when Kitsune rested a paw on her back that she finally released her prey.

"He's dead. You got him."

She starred at him wordlessly for a moment, frowning. "How did you do that, Kit? That rock?"

She could feel the Vulpix smirking at her and he shook his head. "I'm not all powerful, Harley. It was that Sunny orb. It made my flames burn hot. Now, we should probably rescue tha-"

The Fire type had turned to where their Drifloon guide was to find him missing. Before the panic set in a voice called from nearby, "Greetings!"

Both Pokemon angled their heads to the side to see a Riolu approaching them with the Drifloon's strings secure in its hand.

"Well met, fellow travelers. I noticed your battle and decided to take matters into my own paws and assist. Your balloon-friend is right as rain, I assure you."

"What?" Harley didnt speak...weirdo Riolu.

"He says he saw the fight and saved the Drifloon."

"Ah. Well, thanks I suppose..."

"Think nothing of it my friend! I too have noticed the odd happenings as of late, and as a fellow adventurer I feel it is within my duties to assist you in your noble quest!"

"What?"

"He wants to come with and help." Kit translated once more.

"No thanks, pal. We got this on our own." The Poochyena's tone held the suggestion that she believed the Riolu was insulting her by claiming she needed help. Her eyes were narrowed at it, but the creature continued to smile along happily as though she had said yes.

"Nonsense!" Ah, perhaps he did believe she said yes in some way. "You will need need my prowess with a blade to help combat the darkness within that lair!"
He waved a paw, gesturing to the tunnel carved into the side of the plateau.

"Now come, my fellows! Let us make haste!" Before either canine could protest the fool Riolu had already rushed into the hole.
They normally wouldnt have cared if he hadnt taken their client with him.

"Dammit! Now we have to rescue that Drifloon as well!"

"Hurry! Before we lose him!"

+-+-+-+-+

It wasnt long, winding through tunnel after tunnel, that they finally caught up to the Riolu who still held the Drifloon's strings tightly in his paws. They were ducked behind rock formation on the ground and peering over it into what she assumed was the next cavern.

"Hey! You dirt-"

The small Fighting Type turned suddenly, raising his free paw to place over Harley's mouth and cut her off.
She would have bitten him if Kit hadnt nudged her and pointed with a flick of his ears ahead.

Harley pulled away from them both to pad forward, place her paws on the rock and pull herself up to gaze into the next room.

A Procession of Drifloon, holding one anothers strings, were being moved along single file through a small opening in the side of a wall.
There were about ten Fighting Types in the room, they seemed to be doing nothing other than keeping watch.

"Look closer upon those captives, comrades. Do you not see what I see?"
The Riolu's voice grated on her nerves, but Harley complied and narrowed her eyes at the Drifloon.
Now that she looked more closely, it was plain to see that some of them were rather off color and less 'alive' looking than the others.

"Those are just balloons! Painted to look like Drifloon!"
But they were darker near the bottom, possibly because there was something INSIDE the fake Drifloon?

"Do you smell that Harley?"

The Poochyena inhaled sharply and then shook her head in disgust.
"Poison Powder. Too much will kill you, but small amounts are very popular to help you catch a high. These Fighting Type are drug dealers."

These Pokemon here were smuggling drugs with the Drifloon! They would use real Drifloon to pull attention from the fake ones and then send them off to deliver the goods elsewhere!

"If this place is their base of operations...then if we take it out we can end this drug peddling ring."

"Yes, but the question is...how?"

Harley smiled at this, Kitsune was so old fashioned that he didnt know about current things such as the Poison Powder drug.
"You know that powder is flameable?"

The Vulpix understood immediately and nodded to confirm so.

"Hey, Riolu. Good news! You get to help afterall..."

"Oh lovely! Will I be fighting off those fighting type on my own?! Sword waving and victory sure at hand?!"

"Not really...Kit, do you think you can reach that box over there without being seen? Looks like that is where they keep the fake Drifloon in..."

+-+-+-+-+

"This is highly degrading. Why cant we use the actual Drifloon?"
The Riolu said in annoyance as Harley shoved the inflated Drifloon balloon over his head so that only bottom paws were visible.
"He's our client. We cant endanger him. Now, quit your whining-erm..."
"I am Alec Excelsior Vanaustin the Third!"
"Yeah, whatever. I'm Harley, that's Kit. Now enough socializing. It's go time!"
She shoved the Riolu out into the open and gave a loud whistle.

"Hey, what's that over there?"
"Huh? Looks like one of the Dr-OH GEEZ! ANOTHER ONE GOT LOOSE!"
"After it!"

"Oh my..." Alec tore off running as fast as he could, but it was hard to see inside that blasted balloon.

As the fighting type rushed out after him, Harley bounded into the room to snap her teeth around the strings of the fake Drifloon that held the real ones immobile.
Kit had already headed the other way to the storage area so they didnt have much time.
"Run! Get out now! This whole place is gonna-"The sound of footsteps stopped her and she turned to see a gathering of Fighting Types standing at the exit.
A Combusken held Alec upside down by his leg.

"You are the worst decoy ever!" She growled at the Riolu as a Toxicroak began to make his way to her.
"And you're about to be a dead Poochy-GAH! SOMETHING ON MY HEAD! I CANT SEEEEE!"
Their Drifloon Client had latched onto the toad's face, strings wound around it tightly to cover its eyes.

Inspired, Harley turned and continued to bite the strings holding the captive Drifloon.
"FIGHT FOR YOUR FREEDOM!" Alec howled from where he still remained suspended from the air, he unsheathed his sword that the Combusken must have overlooked [or assumed was a toy] and began to swing it with exuberance.

The fire bird dropped him as the blade sliced its arm and hissed threateningly.
It began to build up a Flamethrower but before it could unleash it a Drifloon latched onto its face as well.
The little Ghost kicked in a Mirror Move as the fire blazed out against it and redirected it into the Combusken's still open beak.

"I smell chicken."

The other Drifloon were on the assault now, Ominous Winds and Shadow Balls filled the room as well as Harley's laughter as she dipped around the legs of the Fighting Type for a few well placed Bites and Headbutts.
Those drug dealers didnt stand a chance.
She tripped up a Tyrogue, sending it crashing into a Mankey and gave a barking laugh as the two [in their anger] lashed out at one another.

Suddenly Kit appeared at the door, the signal to get the hell out of Dodge.
"Let's go! Hurry! Hurry!"

Most the Drifloon obeyed instantly, but Harley and Alec had to grab a few of the slowers ones by their strings and run.

The three Pokemon rushed out the tunnel exit, a blur of purple and yellow soaring past them as the group of Drifloon made their own escape.
"Get as far away as you can!"
Rushing down the path once more a thunderous roar suddenly filled the air as the trail of powder Kit had left finally reached the Poison Powder stored in the boxes.

The three Pokemon gasped for breath, strewn across the ground in exhaustion.
"Mission...mission accomplished..."

"LET'S DO IT AGAIN!"

"Ugh..."

Back at the guild, Officer Magnezone was very quickly informed of the going-ons. With a large contingent of officers, they set out for the warrior Plateau to round up what remained of the Drug Dealers and close down the operation for good.

After being rescued, most of the Drifloons left except two- the client, and one, upon closer inspection, was one of the fake balloons. They must have accidentally grabbed it on their flight out; there was a small package of...well, you know...within. ((Poison Powder TM))

The Drifloon pulled out the promised reward, wherever the heck he was keeping it, what appeared to be a piece of paper. It glowed with an eerie aura. ((Ominous Wind TM))

"Th-that was a close one." The client gasped, still shaking from the ordeal. "You guys were amazing...is it possible for me to join you?"

"That was great, fellow warriors! I wouldn't mind adventuring with you again!" Alec grinned foolishly. "Here, I found this long ago, but it's not like I need it." The Riolu handed the Poochyena a small black marble, a hole through it for a string to be thread through. ((Dusk Globe))

Rewards!
Poison Powder TM + Ominous Wind TM

Bonus: Dusk Globe
Recruits: Alec the Riolu or Drifloon

((Gahdamn Alec's sword looks like the Key of Lorelei >.>

Anyways, great mission. I noticed that you like to put only one sentence per line in most of it, except in Harley's backstory sequence and a little at the beginning. That's fine, but I'm just going to tell you that I count that as padding for length~ Not to mention Microsoft Word and Open office seem to be way different here. OO has your mission at 12 pages 0.0

So...uh...yeah. Mission graded.))

Chad + Leo

Leo was looking at the mission board, trying to find a suitable mission. “Hey Chad, what do you think of this one?” Chad was paying no attention to Leonardo; instead, he was looking at a worried Combusken. It looked like it was putting up a bounty. He walked over to the distressed pokemon.
“Need some help?”
“Huh? Uh...Y-yeah. There’s something weird happening in m-my village, and I think it’s because of this guy,” he said as he pointed to the wanted poster he had just put up: WANTED; SPIRITOMB. Leo, just noticing that his partner wasn’t behind him, walked over.
“What’s going on?”
“We’re taking his mission,” he said as he pointed to the Combusken next to him.
“You will? Oh thank you!” With that, the three pokemon set out for Warrior’s Plateau.

After a long (and VERY boring) hike, the trio finally made it to their destination. Leonardo turned to the Combusken,
“I don’t think I caught your name.”
“Huh...I’m Roderick, but everyone calls me Rick.”
“Nice to meet you, my name’s Leonardo, and this my partner, Chad."
Chad looked up at the sharp cliff in front of them.
“We don’t have to climb that, do we?”
“No, we don’t. My village is only a little north of here."
“Then what are we waiting for, we have a mission to do.” Chad stormed ahead of the group.
“Uh Chad, the Village is this way,” Rick said as he pointed in the opposite direction. It was only a short walk to the village.

After a short while, the three stopped for a break by a river. All of a sudden, a group of pokemon jumped out of the water. It was a group of Poliwrath, about six or seven. Then a Croagunk walked to the front of the group.
“Give us your stuff, NOW!” he said in a deep, raspy voice.
Chad puffed up his chest, and walked up to the leader of the group, “What if I don’t feel like it?” The Poliwrath all burst into laughter. The Croagunk held out his hand, to motion them to be quiet.
“Then I make you,” he said as he pointed at the Squirtle’s chest, “into turtle soup.” The Croagunk grabbed him by the throat, “So, are we gonna have to do the easy way, or the hard way?” Chad’s cheeks swelled as he hit the pokemon with a hydro pump in the face. The Croagunk lost his grip, and fell back on one of his minions. Several of the Poliwrath charged at him, but he knocked them back with a quick rapid spin. The pokemon started to surround the trio.
“Give it up kid, your finished.”
Leo fired a hidden power into the crowd of attackers, knocked several of them back.
The Croagunk leader dashed forward, his hand glowing a bright purple, and hit Rick with a poison jab. He stumbled for a bit, and shot a flamethrower at the Croagunk. While he was still stunned from the attack, Chad tackled him to the ground.
“Who’s the tough guy now?” he said as he slammed his head with a skull bash. He was finished. Several of the Poliwrath just stared in awe.
‘Did they really just K.O. the boss?’ Leo turned to the group. One of the Poliwrath yelled,
“Retreat!” The rest of them followed suite, making sure to grab “The Boss”, who wasn’t as tough as he claimed.

Chad’s attention then turned to the injured client.
“Here, eat this,” he said as he pulled an Oran berry out of the exploration bag and handed it to Roderick.
“Thanks, you guys are pretty tough.”
“We do what we have to get the mission done.” The Combusken turned to the trail ahead of them,
“It isn’t much farther now. Just over there.”
He pointed to a small stone village, etched into the rock. It looked old and deserted, but the client is always right, right? They continued down the path until they had reached Rick’s village.

It had looked even worse closer up. The village looked like it was going to fall apart. Walls were cracked, windows broken. The whole place was a mess. As the group entered the city, a group of Combusken, adorned with feathers, jumped down from the cliffs above. One, decorated in blue, spoke out.
“Why have you returned, Brother?”
Rick stepped forward, “I am here to help my people.”
“Leave here now, Roderick, before I have to kill my own brother.” The chieftain turned to the other two visitors. “You have brought outsiders to our lands? You disgrace us with your rebellious attitude."
“They are no plain outsiders, they are mighty warriors, who have offered their service to our village.”
Roderick’s brother raised his eyebrow. “Warriors you say, they look more like a snack to me,” he said as he pointed to Chad. Why did everyone think he was delicous? The other Combusken chuckled. “If they are so powerful, then you should be able to defeat me and two of my best men.” A scowl fell upon Rick’s face.
“Aganzo, now is not the time for fighting between brothers.” Aganzo’s hearty demeanor was gone.
“Then you have no place here, be gone.” The other Combusken led the trio out of the village.

Chad, Leo, and Rick spent the night outside the village. None of them could get any sleep. The next morning, as they were preparing to return to the guild, a messenger approached. He was out of breath from running to them.
“Roderick!” The trio turned to face the pokemon. “It’s your brother, he’s gone. Just like the others.”
“Others?” Chad asked.

“You see, every night, for the past month, children have been disappearing. My brother, Aganzo, chieftain of my village, blamed the gods for the disappearances. I told him that I could not believe that any god would punish my tribe. He banished me for questioning his authority. I spent the next week wandering the plateau. One day, I was up on the ridge, when I heard strange noises. I followed them to a cavern, which was blocked by a boulder. I could hear my tribe mates, calling out to me from the inside. Before I could open it, however, I had been hit in the back. I only got a glimpse at my attacker: Spiritomb. After that, I blacked out. That is why I have hired you two, to help me defeat him and rescue my people.”

Chad looked determined, “Then what are we waiting for?
Roderick motioned his arms to a spot higher up on the plateau, “There, that is where we must go.” It wasn’t all that high up, but the only way up there was to cross the river, where they had gotten attacked by the water-types. It was a necessary risk, and one they would have to take.

When they arrived at the river crossing, there were the Poliwrath, sans leader.
“Oh not this again. Let’s get this over with.” Leo really wasn’t in the mood to beat these guys twice. One of the pokemon stepped forward,
“We mean no harm. We have realized the error of our ways; and we wish to help you on your mission.” Were these guys for real? Chad facepalmed, and then laughed a little.
“Sure, why the hell not? We could always use a helping hand, or a dozen. The Poliwrath pushed a large rock into the river, as a bridge for the trio. They proceeded to cross the “bridge” when suddenly, a flash of blue jumped out of the water, and knocked Leonardo into the water.
“Leo!” Chad dived into the water after him. Roderick was angry at the group behind him.
“What are you trying to pull?” The water-types froze,
“N-n-nothing, it’s not us,” they all cried in unison.
“Then who?”
Chad was shot out of the water, and skidded along the ground on his back, the flash of blue following behind. It was the Croagunk from before, this time however, he was stronger. The Poliwrath answered Rick’s question all at once,
“Him.” The poison type picked Chad up by his tail, and threw him at a tree. Croagunk was about to finish him off with an ice punch, when he was hit with an aerial ace from Rod. The assailant was knocked back, giving Chad some time to get up. Chad fires a hydro pump into the poison-type’s chest, knocking the wind out of him. Roderick dug his claws into Croagunk’s throat, and threw him aside.
Rick helped the injured Squirtle to his feet.
“Are you alright?”
“Yeah,” he replied softly. “Where’s Leo?”
“He’s here,” one of the Poliwrath said. They had dragged him out during the fighting. Relief fell over Chad’s face at the sight of his partner.
“He’s fine, he’ll just be out for a bit.”
The Cindaquil’s eyes opened dimly. “What did I miss?” he asked in a weak tone.
“Nothin’ pal.”

The unofficial leader of the Poliwrath pointed to the fallen Croagunk.
“Don’t worry, we’ll make sure that he gets what is coming to him. You three go on, they need you.” Roderick smiled at them,
“Thank you.”

They continued down the path to where the villagers were being held. It had looked just the way Rod described it. A malicious laughter could be heard from all around.
“FOOLS!” Dozens of Ghastly floated out of the ground, and began to circle the gang. They swooped at the three, but they just went through them. Roderick used a fire punch on a crimson colored Ghastly. The others started to attack from all angles. Chad had hit one with a water gun, and it disintegrated on contact. Leo began to fire cobalt embers at the cloud of purple smoke. It did almost nothing to harm the ghosts, and more kept coming. There was no way that they could win. All of a sudden, a purple Absol swooped down from high above the rocks. She defeated the entire crowd with ease, before disappearing in a flash of violet.

The laughter returned, this time it was louder. It sounded like hundreds of voices, talking all at once. A violet haze seemed to seep from the rocks around. It swirled together as the cackles became louder, and louder. Finally out of the cloud formed Spiritomb, the cause of all the trouble.
“Bravo, bravo gentlemen. We’re surprised you defeated our minions, most DIE trying. Hahahaha.”
“Where are they? Where is my brother?” Roderick had no time for any of its sick mind games. The ground opened up, revealing all of the kidnapped villagers.
“You want them, well too bad. They are ours, ours for all time.” The pokemon dissipated into the air, the reformed behind them. “We think we need another for our collection. You three shall do just fine.”
Chad stepped forward, “I’d like to see you try.”
Spiritomb fired a glowing dark pulse at Chad, who dodged it just in time. The spot where it hit seemed to wither, and age. He had had about enough of this guy. Chad fired a hydro pump back at the ghostly figure.
“Gah,” Spiritomb began to pant, “You’re going to have to do better to beat us.” It separated into exactly 108 small points of light. Each one hit one of the three, before re-combining back into a full Spiritomb. “They” were tough, and apparently had no weakness. Roderick and Leonardo both fired embers into the pokémon’s center. It appeared to be totally unaffected. It fired several shadow balls at chad, who dodged all but one. Spiritomb proceeded to use a sucker punch on Rod, who was knocked down. Chad dashed and used a rapid spin, knocking Spiritomb into a small keystone behind it.
“NO! You shall pay we shall…k….” It was sealed within the stone, hopefully for good this time.

Leo threw down a rope ladder to the villagers trapped below. Aganzo gave his brother a hug.
“I am sorry for doubting you, Brother. I should have trusted your judgment”
“It is alright, I am just glad that everyone is alright, thanks to Team Anarchy. Roderick shook Chad and Leo’s hands. “I hope we meet again someday.”
Leo smiled, “Maybe, someday.”

Officer Magnezone had already been at the guild prior to the team's return, meeting the team shortly after the battle ended after being informed of their location.
A small group of Magnemite took the Closed Spiritomb into custody.

It seems Rick and a lurking Poliwrath would like to join the team!

Chad + Leo

Chad turned to the Poliwrath following them. "We're not recruiting at the moment, but if we ever need anyone, I'll make sure to find you."The pokemon frowned. "I understand," he said as he walked out of the guild and back home.

Rick stepped forward, "I suppose that means me aswell."
"Your people need you more than we do. It would be best if you stayed with them."
Rick turned and started to walk away.
"But if you ever need some help, we'll be there," Leo said.
"Thank you, my friends"
Roderick walked back to his tribe, and Team Anarchy returned to the team room for some well deserved rest.
