XXXXXXX—¤÷(`Nadia & Roxana ´)÷¤—

A bright sun rose up to the sky. It was quite windy today actually. The trees are dancing happily with the morning breeze that filled the area with its slight chill. Flowers bloom upon the sunlight that shimmered down with its bright and warmth glory. A Poochyena stood in front of the Bulletin Board along with her new recruit, Roxana. Nadia scoured several missions that are pinned down on the wooden board. The rainbow-colored Vulpix then approached the board to take a closer look. She should at least help her find a mission. “What about this?” asked Nadia, gesturing a paw to a piece of sheet on her right. Roxana then tilted her head to the paper Nadia was referring to. “N-No, it sounds quite difficult...” She shook her head repeatedly. “Perhaps we s-should pick something much easier?” Roxana admitted she is very timid. That's why she tries to be bolder every day, though she barely made any progress so far.
After reviewing all the available missions, Roxana glared at the wooded board and looked over the missions again. “W-We’ ve never looked a-at this one before.” She pointed at another piece of sheet placed on the bottom right of the wooden board. “Let’s read it.” Nadia then began to read the description out loud.
“Dear rescue teams.
Today is the Annual Novice Team Tournament. My brother still thinks that I’m a still weakling when I was a kid. But now, I’m going to prove him wrong. I promised myself that I would meet him in the tournament, face to face. The problem is that I don’t have a team to enter with me in the tournament. Please, this tournament really means so much to me.”
Roxana paused. She didn’t say a word while she began to get lost in her thoughts. ‘Being in an r-rescue team means y-you have to be brave. T-That’s the reason...why I joined the t-team; to overcome my shyness.’ Nadia cocked an eyebrow as she glanced to the rainbow Vulpix whom is now lost in thought. “Roxana? Roxana? Is something wrong?” She waved a paw in front of her. “Wha-what?!” Roxana shrieked in fright. When she realized she was drifted too long, she blushed and looked to the ground, embarrassed.
“So, should we take this mission?” Nadia asked, hoping she would say yes. She looked at the Poochyena and gave her nod. Nadia looked at the paper before looking back at her. “Well, it’s the easiest mission we came across today, I suppose it wouldn’t hurt. Though, it says we’re going to be on a team with a Tyrogue in a tournament, are you sure to pick this mission?” She asked once again, reassuring herself if she had second thoughts. Roxana seems to be the type who avoids battles at all cause, but in tournament? Is she serious? “I-I’ ve been in a war with Darkrai before, r-remember? I think I-I could handle a tournament.” Nadia shrugged. “Umm...okay. Let’s go then.” She said, before leading Roxana to Warrior’s Plateau.
--------------------
The two arrived their destination not long after they departed from the guild. Roxana glanced to the giant plateau stood up ahead. “This p-plateau is quite big!” She said, shielding her eyes from the sunlight. Soon, they spotted a Tyrogue, waiting for their arrival, not far from the spot they stood on. “Good, you two came here earlier than I expected!” The Tyrogue then called them out. “We will be pleased to assist you in the tournament.” She addressed him with a bow, trying to be polite as much as possible. “You should know that my name is Rick and yours are..?” Nadia stepped aside, showing the rainbow Vulpix who is hiding behind her. “My name is Nadia and this is Roxana.” Roxana gave a quick blush as the Poochyena pointed at her direction.
Rick glared at the colorful Vulpix. Her fur was bright and cheerful. He had never seen a Pokemon like her before. He looked away, blushing meaning he was embarrassed that he realized he was staring at her a little bit long. He took a deep breath before explaining the tournament. “Okay, let me explain,” He gave a serious look before continuing his sentences. “So far, I already registered the team. The tournament is quite easy. There are 3 rounds and they all located in different floors. The first round is on the 7th floor, the second is on the 13th floor, and last round is on the 15th floor. Every team consist 3 Pokemon like our team. First team we’re up against is Combusken’s team. All we have to do is take out every team we face on every round. Mostly like a single elimination tournament but in a team. I don’t know if we’re going to make it or not, but let’s do our best!” Nadia soon gave a nod in response. “Got it!” She rushed to Rick’s side along with Roxana on his other side, forming a triangle-like formation.
------------------------
The sun is shining down harsh. And this rocky place isn’t helping either. It feels like a desert. Though, the wind often blows to lower the heat down. The team climbed through the plateau. Rick seems to know a lot of Warrior’s Plateau since he actually lives here. “Is it always this hot here?” Nadia asked. “No, not really. It usually much more hotter.” He said calmly. The Poochyena looked a bit surprised. Really? Hotter? Ugh, Nadia could already guess she wouldn’t like this place at all. Hope this mission won’t take too long…
Soon they arrived at an unstable land. There are cracks everywhere. “Watch your step.” Rick said, cautiously stepping through the rough land. Nadia was last to step in the cracks. Suddenly, a crack crumbled then followed by a few more cracks surrounding it. “Ahh!” The Poochyena panicked, rushing to the Vulpix and Tyrogue. But she was too late. She fell down onto the ground. She moaned. “Ugh..R-Roxana? Rick? Can you hear me? Hello?” She struggled to get back on her feet and looked up the hole it made. She kept calling them out, but they didn’t respond. She could only hear her echoes through the cave. The Poochyena finally looked around. It looked some sort of an underground cavern. She never saw an underground cavern before. “W-Where am I?” Getting the dirt off of her gray fuzzy fur.
Nadia’s ear twitched as she heard footsteps in the cavern. She’s isn’t alone in here. “W-Who’s there?” A dark blue blur dashed behind her. When she turned around, nothing was there. Her right ear twitched as a glowing yellow Heracross slammed onto the Poochyena. But then her whole body turned black and disappeared, causing the attack to fail. “Damn it, where’d she go?” The Heracross cursed her. He turned to every direction with wary.
As the Poochyena appeared on top of the Pokemon, she launched herself and did a flip as her bushy tail glowed purple. She then slammed her tail onto him as he looked up. He moaned by the pain. Nadia jumped backwards and looked him when he got up. He showed his little bug wings and flew up. “EAT THIS!” He hovered to Nadia with full speed while making buzzing noises. With her guard down, the Heracross successfully struck an Ariel Ace at the Poochyena. She fell to the ground but quickly she was back on her feet and fired a Dark Pulse.
The battle continues as white eyes gazed behind the darkness. It blinked a few times. Looks like somebody have been lurking the whole time. “This is…quite interesting.” It murmured. “I have never seen a Poochyena living in here before.” It paused for a moment by the time Nadia was thrown into the wall by the Heracross. She slumped down onto the ground, panting. She couldn’t get up. “It’s time to end this.” The Pokemon said, as his horn glows a faint red. Without any hesitation, he charged himself to the Poochyena. She glared at him with fright. Could this be her end?

Everything went blank as a figure stood bravely in front of her. It looked like a Riolu. But it has a chocolate fluffy tail and Eevee ears. In fact, he looked a lot like an Eevee. Though, he has white gray-like eyes. Can he be blind? No, it can’t be. He seems to act like a normal Pokemon. “That’s enough. Would you really harm a girl?” He said, charging up Counter to unleash on the Megahorn coming his way. Nadia froze when a stranger suddenly appeared just to save her life. The Riolu didn’t take any damage from the blow because of his Counter he just unleashed to the attack. Instead, it hit the Heracross with double damage. “I worked so hard to get my winning streak; I’m not going to end it NOW!” He snapped at the Riolu. The Riolu didn’t care, the white bumps on the back of the Riolu’s forepaws glow blue and grew slightly thicker as he performed a Sword Dance before stepping up to the Heracross. He put his right arm at the Heracross’s forehead and a bright light came from it. The light dramatically grew brighter as it became a beam and shot the Heracross. He fell on his knees followed by his body.
“Are you alright?” the Riolu inquired. He turned his attention to the weak Poochyena. “I-I’m fine.” She answered. He offered his hand to help her get back on her feet. “Are you lost young lady? There’s a stair over there if you want to get out of this carvern.” He pointed to the stairs that Nadia just noticed with a grin. She tilted her head to the stairs then back to the Riolu, but he already left. She didn’t even get to know his name. ‘Wow, that’s just creepy, even though I do that sometimes with Shadow Force.’ She thought as she walked to the stairs, revealing her to a very different floor she’s not familiar with. “Now where the heck I am now?” She thought out loud. Then she heard someone called her name in a familiar voice. “Nadia! W-Where did y-you go?” A Vulpix ran towards her. “You’re just in time for the first round.” A Tyrogue finished her sentence. “Roxana? Rick? What’s going on?” The stair she climbed up was a stair that leads to the 7th floor.
The clueless Poochyena noticed there is a large floor at the center of the floor. It looked like the ones in tournaments. There is a few Pokemons cheering at the sidelines. Overall, the floor is filled with all kind of items that involves in a tournament. She turned to her left. She saw two Mankeys and a Combusken stood at the other side. “You mean, this is the first round?!” She said, surprised. And she’s going to fight more Pokemons after her battle against that Heracross? Oh boy, this is going to be bad.
Rick explained what happened after she fell into the underground cavern. It’s quite true; Roxana and Rick didn’t hear anything Nadia shouted at the bottom of the cavern. After they passed the unstable area, they began to notice Nadia wasn’t following them. But they knew she would show up soon so they continued to walk aimlessly onto the first round. ‘No fair, why do they have to walk when I have to battle a Heracross right before the first round.’ She thought to herself as she stared at the Vulpix and Tyrogue. Nadia told them what happened. But she didn’t mention about the Riolu that saved her life. “I’m sure you’ll do fine.” Rick reassured her. That’s not the kind of answer she was expecting.
The two teams stood in opposite sides and with the same triangle formation. A bell rang like every tournament does when a round starts. The Mankeys jumped in front of Roxana and Rick. Each with their arms glow a white light then formed an ‘X’ style with them, they were about to unleash a Cross Chop. Nadia stepped back then looked on top of her, revealing a Combusken with one claw glowing white. The Poochyena jumped while her tail glows purple. As she was face-to-face with the Combusken, she turned around and slammed her tail. Though, the Combusken was quick, he send a Sky Uppercut to her stomach as her tail collided with his body. Ouch, that has to be painful. At least it didn’t hurt to hit a vital organ or something. The two falls onto the ground and each landed on their feet. Nadia finally felt the pain as she landed on the ground. ‘Ack, why did he have to hit me so hard?’ She thought to herself.
Rick threw his arms back and charged to the Mankeys while Roxana intensified the sun to boost her Fire-type attacks before creating a colorful fire vortex that surrounded the Mankeys. “WHAT THE HELL IS THIS?! IS THIS SOME KIND OF A TRICK?!” One of the Mankey’s complained. Their arms stopped glowing and they both stepped back, trying their best not to get too close to the fiery vortex or catch on fire. They kept stepping back until they hit each other’s back. By the time the vortex ended, the Tyrogue jumped and grinned at them before Fake Out the two Mankeys. It blew the two Mankeys back and onto the Combusken that was behind them. The three soon fainted. “The winner of this round is Rick’s team!” The referee announced as the crowd cheers. “Good luck on your next round.” The referee said once again before leaving the three to go to the next round. “Well, let’s go then.” Rick said, looking both at Roxana and Nadia.
After a few, long climbing, the team decided to take a break. Nadia lowered her head for the bag she usually carries in missions slip out of her body. Roxana’s stomach growled slightly as a few Apples rolled out of the bag. Nadia and Rick both giggled as they heard the growl. The colorful Vulpix blushed, embarrassed. “Of course you can have a few of the Apples, Roxana.” The Poochyena said, understanding that she was hungry. The Poochyena shoved the Apples at Roxana before giving her a smile. She then shyly nibbles on them one by one.
Nadia soon grabbed a few Apples for herself. “Here, have a Big Apple.” She looked to her client, offering a Big Apple from the bag. “No, no. You deserve the Big Apple. I’m the one who should be eating the Apples. After all, you’re the one that got into a fight right before the first round. You should build up your strength.” He gave the Big Apple back to her. She looked at the Big Apple before looking back at the Tyrogue. “Umm…if you want to.” He was her client. She has no choice but to obey him. The client is always right. Well, not really.
She pushed her Apples in front of Rick while she munched on the Big Apple. ‘Mhm..this is yummy.’ She tasted her food before swallowing it. Roxana was still nibbling on her last Apple. She is always a slow eater. Munch, chew, snuffle-slurp. “Ahh, now this is the best part.” Rick said, rubbing his stomach. “Yeah, I’m full.” She encouraged him. Roxana finally finished her Apples. “You, finished?” Rick asked the Vulpix. She nodded shyly. “We should really be going now for the second round.” The Poochyena finally said. “Eh, right. Let’s go.” And with that, Rick led the team to the next round.
The next round is quite nearby than going all the way from the entrance of Warrior’s Plateau to the 7th floor. The floor has a lot of common on the last round, except the color is different. This one was blue-themed, unlike the last one, it was red. The crowd chanted as Nadia, Roxana, and Rick arrived at their destination. A Croagunk was hopping in front of them. “Good luck at the match. May the best team win.” He said, narrowing his eyes. After a few preparations, the two teams already stood on the matt. At the right, there is Rick’s team and on the left is the Croagunk’s team. There is a Machop and a Sandshrew stood behind him. They could be his team members. Soon the bell rang and Roxana already made her first move. She trapped her opponent’s team into a large Fire Spin. The Sandshrew tilted his head to the right and left to see nothing but the fire vortex. He curled into a ball and spins so quickly that it eliminates the Vulpix’s vortex that surrounded them. Roxana stepped back as the Sandshrew then tackled her. She Flamethrowed the Sandshrew away from her and the Pokemon fell back where he came from.
The Machop launched himself and Karate Chopped Rick. He pulled his arms together in front of him in an ‘X’ style to at least lower the damage. While he tried to defend himself from the fury punches coming his way, he released a bolt of blue electricity to Nadia. She felt a bit more powerful than ever. She rushed to the Machop and Crunched his arm. “ARGH!!” He enraged as he swayed his arm right and left. He finally shook the Poochyena off and looked to his bitten arm. It has two bite marks in it. “You’re going to pay for that!” He swung a glowing fist at her. She fell to the ground, groaning.
The Croagunk that have been watching his two team members handle the fight; he soon shot multiple poisonous darts at Roxana from range. Nadia opened her eyes and saw the darts coming. She quickly got up and shoved Roxana away from the darts, replacing the Vulpix’s place with herself. Though, she almost avoided all of the darts. She soon fell to the ground once again, poisoned. “N-Nadia!” She cried. She held the unconscious Poochyena tightly. The colorful Vulpix glowed white and soon, she glowed white too. A moment later, Roxana felt her moved and sighed in relief.
Nadia looked behind Roxana, and saw the Machop she bit earlier charging. She soon escaped from Roxana’s grip. She looked at her with a nod. “Let’s do it!” She said, excitedly. The Machop stopped for a moment. What would those two team members are up to? The Vulpix made another Fire Spin. It headed towards the Machop. Nadia blasted a beam of purple circles at the vortex and made it into a black fire vortex. It hit the Pokemon and flings him aside. Now it’s time for the Croagunk’s turn to get his butt-kicked.
Rick released another bolt of blue lightning at Nadia. She once felt a bit powerful once again. Roxana intensify the sun, to make her Fire-type based attacks stronger. Once the two was buffed up, Nadia released another Dark Pulse at the Croagunk while Roxana released another Flamethrower at him. The two ranged attacks morphed together into a black flamethrower just like the Fire Spin combination. The Croagunk stood frozen, letting the attack hit him. He fell to the ground, fainted. “Yeah! You guys did it!” Rick exclaimed.
“The winner of this round is Rick’s team!” The referee then announced. “Congratulations, you’re going into the finals! Good luck, your opponent is quite tough.” He then left the floor. The crowd cheered for Rick’s team. Nadia felt like a hero as she heard the crowd chanted her name. “I feel loved.” She giggled. “C’mon guys, I want to slaughter my brother already!” And so, he led the way to the last round, where he would meet with his brother. Why does he know he’ll be facing his brother? You could say that his brother is a pretty tough guy.
Getting to the final round was MUCH easier than the other rounds. This time, the place was green-themed, nothing special, really. It’s just the exact same items except the colors are different. Rick looked around and he was right. His opponent in the final round is his brother. The two exchanged glances. “Hey wimp. I bet your opponent in the other round is just a wimp like you, that’s why you made it to the finals, right?” He mocked him. He tumbled down to the Tyrogue. Rick’s brother was actually a Hitmontop. “Rodrick, where’s my rewards?” A voice called the Hitmontop. “You mean ours?” Another voice replied. “Shut up!” A Flygon and a Electabuzz appeared over the edge of the crowd. Wait…his name is Rodrick?! That’s odd, since Nadia and Roxana’s client’s name is Rick while his brother name is Rodrick. You only need to add the ‘Rod’ part at the beginning. It sounds more like a twin then just a sibling.
“Just a sec! Can’t you all be damn patient for once? Sheesh.” He grumbled. The Hitmontop then tumbled back to the crowd and disappear out of sight with the other Pokemon. Nadia looked to Rick. “Their reward? Does that mean your brother hired a rescue team too?” He didn’t answer. “Oh well, let’s go, Roxana.” She then dragged her teammate to prepare for the finals.
Before the bell rang, the usual referee stood at the center of the floor. “This is the final round! The round that will determine the winners of this Novice Tournament! Now let the battle, BEGIN!” He lifted and arm while the bell rang, as usual. The Electabuzz started to Thunderbolt Roxana aimlessly while she started to Flamethrow him aimlessly. “You can’t avoid my electric forever, sweetie.” He mocked. “N-N-Neither do you!” Nadia sneaked to the Flygon with her Shadow Force. The Flygon quickly turned and tried to the slash her. She bailed her attack and dodged the attack. “You’re a quick one, hun~” He flirted. “You should know that if you underestimate someone, you’ll die.” The Poochyena replied with an evil grin. “Is that so~?” He swung another Dragon Claw.
As Rick’s team mates was too busy with avoiding and dodging, Rick himself is busy with his own business with his brother. “Come on? Are you much of a coward to attack me first? If you’re not going to do anything, THEN I WILL!” He spun around and started to kick Rick’s sides. Rick began to spin around. Somehow, he recognized the move. ‘It’s Rolling Kick!’ He thought as he waited the right moment. He soon grabbed his brother’s feet, a bit dizzy from spinning around a lot. Rodrick gasped. “Well, well, well. You improved all this time..I could be wrong about you…NOT!” Rick lost grip of his feet and he spun around one more time and launched Rapid Spin, causing the Tyrogue to fell backwards. The Hitmontop stopped and stood up with his feet while his brother got up. Rick quickly rushed to his brother and launched Secret Power. He actually has an impressive move after all. Maybe he saved this move for this battle. Strength was launched because of the environment and tossed him up in the air. Without hesitation, the move is followed by a Tackle and tackled him farther head-first. The Hitmontop fell to the floor and made a huge crack on the floor. “Urghh..” He groaned. As Rick fell to the ground, fine. He cautiously looked at his brother when he jumped back up and spun round with white balls on his hands. ‘Could that be..Gyro Ball?’ Rick thought. “I AM NOT GOING TO BE BEATEN BY SOME WIMP LIKE YOU!” He snapped. He tried to tackle the Tyrogue, but instead being frozen or trying to dodge, Rick used Tackle. The two tackles collide each other, making a white flash that blinded a few Pokemon’s eyes including the Flygon and the Electabuzz.
Nadia’s tail glowed purple and smacked the Flygon with a critical damage. Roxana intensify the sun with Sunny Day quickly and fired a few Flamethrowers at the Electabuzz. The two fell flat to the ground. But what happened to Rick and Rodrick? When the white flash faded and everyone can see clearly again, Rodrick is laid in the floor and Rick is standing in front of him, though he was panting. “What happened, Rick?” asked Nadia. “I-I don’t know.” Anyone in here can’t really describe the situation clearly. Though, the important thing is that Rick wins and Rodrick loses.
“And the winners of this Novice Tournament are…Rick and his team, Nadia and Roxana!” The referee announced happily. The crowd cheered. “Y-You guys did it! You helped me beat my brother and win the tournament.” Rick said happily. “You beat him yourself, Rick, and I’m so happy for you.” Nadia gave a smile. “But..you guys helped me went through the whole tournament, so I have to thank you guys.” Rick started to be emotional. Nadia blushed. “Let’s get back to the guild.” The Poochyena then searched through the bag she’s holding for the badge. “R-Right.” Roxana replied shyly. They soon teleported through the badge back to the guild.
