“Then we may achieve something”, replied Alessa, who suddenly appeared aghast before she could add anything remotely witty. “Oh, crap! I forgot laughing made it worse! I’m sorry!” She suddenly showed more concern for Azzo than he did for himself. That’s Alessa for you. “I’ll be careful now! Whew, that must suck…”

With that sudden fit, the topic of games almost went over her head. Her state went from desperately flailing to only slightly agitated. “What were we talking about again? Oh, right, games! Well, there are so many video games now, it’s hard to find something that won’t please you. Maybe not Hungry Hungry Hippos though.” She asked again, with a meek voice: “Are you sure you’re okay?”

He shook his head, "I'm fine," He added as he shifted, "They're just tender is all."

He shook his head, "It must seem silly that we don't own much besides a radio and a TV at home." He figured most people now have those things called Ipods buy now and those silly phones that could text. At least that's what it looked from the TV commercials. "Hum... honestly I'd probably happy with card games for all I care. Anything to pass the time by."

He nodded mater-of-factly.

“Alright.” It didn’t really matter what he said, she kept an eye on him just in case. She didn’t want to be scolded by a nurse for aggravating his pain.
That claim was not that surprising for Alessa, as she actually knew several people who owned no computer or console. “It’s a matter of personal preference, I guess. It’s my dad who brought of first console home when I was a kid, and that’s how I started playing. I prefer watching movies, though, but it’s still fun to have multiplayer games.” She started searching in her bag after putting it on her lap. “Oh, you’re reminding me I usually bring cards… but did I bring them today? I hope I did.” It would have been ironic to have left them at home along with her math notes. She didn’t seem to find them at first.

"Eh grams says video games rot brains. You know how parents and grandparents can be."

He watched her dig through her back, "It's okay if you didn't. I don't mind. It's just nice to have someone to talk to besides grams." He grinned again giving a nod, as she was looking.

"Oh has there been any good musicals coming out on DVD lately?" Okay so Azzo might be a little weird. Must've gotten hit on the head.

“Oh, well.” She made a pouty face, disagreeing heavily with that statement, but not wanting to criticize Azzo’s family. She kept looking, but while she found, for some reason, an almost empty notebook and a torchlight (what did she use that for, again?), there were no cards to be seen. “Yeah, that’s why I’m here after all… but still, that’s disappointing.” She put all her mess back inside.

Fortunately, Alessa knew, and even liked, a few musicals. Unfortunately for him though, the only names she gleefully spat were mainly geeky references. Doctor Terrible’s Sing-along Blog! Unlike what the name might make you believe, though, there’s no sing-along part, and it’s not a blog at all. And Repo! Though I like it less than Doctor Terrible. What’s your kind of musical by the way?”

He shrugged, "Gram's is old fashion to say the least." He'd noticed the pout, and figured he might as well mention the bit of old fashion. "You know, walk 30 miles to school, up hill both ways... never really did get how you had to walk up a hill both ways. I figured eventually you'd go down hill."

Normally he wasn't that much of a talker, but being stuck in a hospital did weird things to a person. He scratched the back of his head, "Unfortunately, I've yet to see those. I've seen Cats and Rent, and some of Phantom of the Opera, honestly not my favorite. And I avoid watching... oh what's that one everyone hates but knows..... with that song that goes, 'the hills are alive with musssic.'" He seemed not to quite have a singing voice built for those types of songs either.

Alessa raised a finger, much like a timid kid trying to correct her teacher. “To be fair, some hills DO feel like they’re uphill both ways, I’m speaking from experience. Not hard to believe her if school’s involved.” She would have felt bad if that tame comment made Azzo laugh again, what an irony.
“Oh, so you like classics!” She was not into classics at all, and barely knew them by name. He seemed pretty old-fashioned himself. The short part he sung completely lost her as well. “Huh… I heard this one somewhere, maybe… Doctor Terrible goes more like looook around, we're living with the loooost and found...”
She wasn't one to sing either, and her skills weren't stellar, but she knew the whole show by heart.

He seemed to think, "Hum. Well then I guess it does happen." He grinned at the comment about school not really laughing but it was funny.

He grinned and nodded, "Yeah, I'll figure out which musical it was after you leave probably. That's normally the way things go with stuff like that." He listened to her attempt at one of the songs from Doctor Terrible with a brow lofted, "Hum, sounds interesting. I may have to try to find it and watch it."

After a minute or two he gave a soft yawn and wrinkled his nose. "Why is it that hospitals make you tired?" He asked looking towards her.

Alessa felt the need to warn him. “It’s a special kind of musical, actually… the main character’s a supervillain, only he’s not really super, and he’s a pretty good guy. The bad guy is actually a superhero, who’s less super-challenged, and also a complete jerk.” She made a vague gesture with her hand. “It’s… like a comedy, but it’s a kind of tragedy, too. You might not like it.” She’d stopped expecting other people to share her tastes ages ago.

She stood up. “You are tired? I guess it’s normal; you’ll need more rest until your injuries heal. Maybe I should let you sleep a bit, then?”

Azzo was listening, head tilted, "Still sounds interesting." He gave a nod to reiterate that it may still be worth a watch.

He sighed, "I wish I wasn't injured." He watched her stand up, "I suppose. You'll come back though, yes? Another visit again sometime if you don't get too busy?"

He was looking at her curiously hoping the answer would be yes she'd come to visit again. Speically since there was pretty few actual kids around here.

The strap of her bag slipped on her shoulder. The patient’s wish to see her again made her feel warm and fuzzy inside, and she grinned, her smile being accompanied by a modest blush. “I’ll try! I have a rather busy schedule, but I’ll try. In the worst case scenario, anyway, we’ll see each other again at Meadowview.” She pointed at her cookie box, opened on the bedside table. “Keep it! You’ll need calories to recover.”
Walking towards the door, she waved at him. “In the meanwhile, take care and sleep well, alright Azzo?”

Azzo nodded as the girl spoke and chuckled, "Okay, thanks." I'll be sick of cookies by the time I get out but at least they're better than this food that they have. He thought as she left, though he wasn't going to turn down free food.

"Alright, thank Alessa. Have a good day." He shifted in his bed so he was comfortable to rest after the girl left and got ready for a nice nap. Maybe no nurses would disturb him this time.
