I saw the Grudge the other day too. It wasn't perfect but it did have some pretty cool parts. I also saw Ghost in the Shell: Innocence. It's not a scary movie but I thought it was freakin' awesome.
Yeah, I did like Ghost in the Shell: Innocence. It was especially tripped out when they got stuck in the mansion. Overally, I thought it was pretty entertaining. I just wish we had gotten to see more of the Major.
Grudge did creep me out more than once, I'll admit it. But like I said earlier, the ending really sucked.
A few more of my favorite Spooktastic Movies:
1.
Aliens. My favorite Sci-fi thriller of ALL TIME.
2.
The Thing. Fantastic special effects from back in the day when they still used those really disgusting animatronics. I still get a little jarred watching this film.
3.
Amityville 3D. It scared the hell out of me as a kid and still invokes some fear in me now...
4.
Texas Chainsaw Massacre. I don't know how many of you watched the original TCM, but it was very grueling to watch. I felt ill during some of the really intense scenes. I think it was the fact that I knew that the budget for the movie was so low that they actually used real chicken guts on the set for some of the gore. Very gross. The whole movie has this dirty quality to it.
5.
Reanimator. Not so much of a scary movie as it is a good old creature and splatter flick. Lots of gorey wackiness.
6.
Evil Dead 2. Hell yeah, baby. My all time favorite splatter and dismembering cult film. You don't see many films out like this these days. The one horror movie you can watch day in and day out, memorize the lines, and basically master every piece of obscure knowledge about the film.
7.
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer. Perhaps one of the scariest serial killer movies I've seen. The film follows the life of a drifter who kills just for something to do. His murders often have no motive at all. This movie gives you reason to lock all your doors and windows at night, never pick up hitch hikers, or stop to assist a motorist in the middle of nowhere. The film ends with a home invasion which is nearly unwatchable.
8.
Clean Shaven. Another very disturbing flick about a man suffering a mental breakdown and is driven to murder. It's a very interesting looking into the mind of someone suffering from schizophrenia. Even something as simple as making a sandwich can be a monumental task. A very quiet but unsettling film.
9.
Night Breed. I just love this movie. A community of monsters living in their own society, Midian, hidden under a remote cemetary. David Cronenburg starts in the movie as the leather-faced serial killer Dr. Decker. What more could you want?
Whew, well...thats enough for now. Untill I remember some more.
whee Cheers.
