Zen didn't bother answering the 'Daeva; Riki seemed to have that covered. The male 'phim was much better at dealing with such attitudes than she was. Instead, she focused on Imri and Nausika.

"I promise." Zen said still smiling. "It's nice to meet you Nausika." The 'phim wondered for a moment if she should let Jiriki walk so close to the 'Daeva alone but figured they seemed to know each other and that he should be fine... Or at least she hopped so anyway. Her attention turned back to Imri as he quietly talked about his mother... Who had great timing and appeared on the scene.

Sitting up, Zen watched as a 'Daeva kit pounced little Imri and their mother Rina began questioning Nausika. What an interesting family. 'Daeva kits were so...hateful even at such a young age. Seeing as how she wasn't addressed by the elder, Zen simply sat back and watched the unfoldings, until she felt something tugging at her left wing.

After a few short minutes, Dervla had finally reached the clearing in which the rest of her family, well besides her dad apparently, was located. When her mother had told them they were getting close, Dervla had asked permission to stay behind a bit and contemplate a dead butterfly that was laying (lying?) on their path. But now, she was reunited with her siblings and mother and just in time. There happened to be a few new faces around.

Normal foxes were all other the place, so Dervla had no interest in Nausika. The larger fox with feathery wings however did interest her. The tiny kit padded her way over to the black and white 'phim near her brother and stared at her. Such interesting designs and such interesting wings. They were different from her sister's and daddies. Wondering if they felt different as well, Dervla lightly tugged on one of the lower feathers with her mouth. Yep. They were much different. This foxes wings were much softer than the others she had encountered.

After she had observed Zen's wings, she skipped over to her brother Imri, who was the more sane one out of her siblings. "Ignore her." She said to him with a head nod over at their 'daeva sister. With a yawn, she sat down next to him and snuggled into the teal and black vixens tail. It didn't matter if she knew who this fox was, all that mattered was that her tail was comfy and it was nap time.

((Well, I see I've been left with no choice. XD))

A disgruntled Ignacio stepped onto the scene, a male Modidaeva kit tripping over his paws as he walked under Ig, and a normal female kit nestled asleep between his wings.

Children were nightmares. It had been bad enough when he accidentally switched around plants and ended...up...with Rina, Queen of the Bossy Elders, but parenthood was far worse. Imri, in all his cluelessness, hasd wandered away while he had to get Talya out of a damned tree because she didn't think about the 'getting down' part, and he'd spent the past...day? Days? tracking his son.

Exhausted and annoyed, Ignacio nudged Ilan out from under him. "Go play with your sister," he grunted, referring to Arian. With Ilan no longer under him to make him watch his paws, Ig set his sights on Imri. "You're lucky your uncle found you," he drawled, having noticed Tio out of the corner of his eye.

Setting Talya down on the ground to continue her nap, Ignacio walked over to Imri, then started exmaining him for any injuries. Finding none, he picked his anxiety-ridden son up by the scruff of his neck and set him in Talya's usual napping place between his wings. He'd be safe up there, and Ignacio would know where he was.

Noticing Rina, he suppressed an eyeroll. She owuld turn up at his worst hour. "He slipped off when I had to pry Talya out of a tree," he said shortly, answering her question aobut his whereabouts before she could even voice it.

Talya yawned and blinked sleepily when she left Daddy's warm spot. Howcome he wouldn't just let her sleep where she wanted? Standing slowly, she stretched her small limbs and noticed Imri in her warm spot. Harummph.

Looking around, Talya saw that all of her siblings were here. And Mommy! And Uncle Tio! Andand two feathery ones! And a girl that looked kindasortaish like Uncle Tio! There were so many people around, and Talya couldn't decide who to go to first.

Eventually, the strange feathery ones drew most of her attention. Talya climbed uuupppp the male one, eventually plopping down on top of his head. "Mine," she declared matteroffactly. This was her spot now. Looking around after 'securing' her territory, Talya grinend widely at the other feathery one. "You two are funny lookin'," she said simply, not really meaning it as an insult. "Cause Daddy and Uncle Tio got wings too, but they're way different. And Mommy doesn't have wings, sosososo why're you different?" She wrinkled her nose in confusion, unable to figure out the reason.

Ilan moved away from Daddy's feet obediently, not really caring. Instead he wandered around for awhile, taking in his siblings and Mommy and Uncle Tio and some strangers. He stopped and watched Uncle Tio for awhile, then decided he wasn't really being interesting and moved away.

Ilan noticed that Daddy had picked up his twin Imri, and eyerolled to himself. His brother was always getting himself lost, and it could be an inconveniece. Like now, 'cause they'd had to go find his stupid butt. Ilan grunted like his father, then curled up under Mommy to watch the others, hoping Arian wouldn't attack him 'cause he was way sleepy. Why couldn't his Daeva sister be kinda sane like Dervla or Caolan?

Riki blinked in surprise when one of Ignacio's daughters plopped down on his head, looking up at her cross-eyed. He probably looked kind of foolish right now, but the fact that one of Ignacio's kits was willingly on top of him made him forget that. "Well hello there," he chuckled, before looking over at Zen and shrugging. What could he do?

"HEY!" Imri squealed as his sister pounced on him. Being the smallest he was also the weakest, so he couldn't push her off, whimpering when she started biting his ear, "Ari, that HURTS,"

He let out a breath of relief and rolled onto his feet when Mama pulled her off him, shaking himself. "I didn' loose Daddy," He pouted to Dervla, snuggling back up to her and the green and black female, Aunty...Aunty Nau...Aunty Sika, that was it. He didn't argue the point of Daddy not liking him though 'cause it was prolly true...

He sighed and was ready to close his eyes when he heard heavier footsteps. Daddy! Grinning, all thoughts of Daddy not liking him forgotten, Imri stood up again when Daddy got closer, smiling brightly up at him.

The smile faded when he got closer though, and his big eyes widened some, saying quickly, "Sorry Daddy, I didn't--" Before Imri could finish his sentence, though, he was plopped down between Daddy's bigbig wings, and he smiled more. Waaarm. He sighed happily and shut his eyes, burying his face in Daddy's fur. He knew he'd come back sometime...

As Daddy walked, though, Imri peered out from between his wings as they passed Rina, and he stuck his tongue out, whispering, "See? Toldja I didn't loose Daddy andand you were wrong and stuff," Not having a better comeback than that, Imri nodded matter of factly and cuddled down again, knowing he was safe with Daddy.

Horatio raised an eyebrow at Jiriki, the flames on his feet raising about a half inch. After a moment, Horatio stood up and stretched his wings to their full width, his eyes dark and cold.

"Step away." Horatio rumbled, then watched as he went back to his female. Good riddance. Laying down again with a quiet rumble, he watched the goingabouts around him carefully, then closed his eyes.

Only to open them again. Horatio rolled his eyes when a white and purple female Elder came onto the scene...this must be the root of Ignacio's most annoying mistake.

He harummphed slightly at whatever kit came up to investigate him, flapping his wings slightly at it. Children. What had Ignacio been thinking?

Sighing and shaking his head, Horatio stood up and stretched, preparing to make his departure as he was no longer 'needed' here.

Nausika bowed her head in respect to the Elder, only looking up when she spoke. She stayed quiet until she had finished, committing all the childrens' names to memory. "Hello," she answered softly, nodding. "My name is Nausika, of the Bateau tribe. "I'm sorry to say I haven't. That one, he says his name is Horatio, is part of my adoptive family," She added, her nose wrinkling at that thought. "Apparently." She shook her head, trying to offer some explanation. "I met Imri walking through the forest, with Horatio, who says that he is Imri's uncle?" She tilted her head at Rina, perhaps asking for confirmation. However, Rina seemed to want her to continue, ignoring the fact that there was now as struggling kit in her mouth. Her own mother was an expert at that, too.

"I wanted to make sure they got wherever they were going okay. Then we met those 'Phims, of which Horatio seemed to know," Realizing she was rambling her fool head off, Nausika shut up for the time being, until she noticed Horatio...

"Wait," Nausika said, frowning slightly as the first big mean one stretched his wings. She could tell he was getting ready for take-off, and she knew that little Imri would be very sad if he left, just like he'd been so upset when he tried to leave before.

"You hafta say goodbye," Sika blurted, frowning more. She wrapped her tail protectively around the little female kit that was snoozing against her, not wanting Tio to take out his frustration on her. Sika was fine with self-sacrifice, but no little baby should be hurt in the matter.

"At least to Imri, he'll cry or something if you don't," Sika wished her voice had been stronger as he came closer, but out of instinct she pulled slightly away and her voice got quieter. She was from Bateau, she wasn't made for fighting!

"Okay?"

Still looming over the black and green female, Tio said nothing, just studying her coldly. "Why should I? He's of no use to me."

"He's your family!" Nausika retorted, shocked and hurt, not for herself but for Imir. "You are just awful."

"No, really?" Horatio snorted derisively.

Rina kept part of her attention focused on Dervla while she spoke to Ignacio. Dervla was the most curious of her children, and so Rina was not overly concerned with the fact that the kit wished to examine the modiphin.

"How long did he remain out of your care?" Rina questioned. Imri seemed to be unharmed, yet it was the principle of the matter that bothered Rina. While she was the elder of a tribe of independent wanderers, she did not expect such independence from such young kits.

It was by pure luck alone that Imri remained unharmed, Rina determined.

Caolan scooted over a bit when his brother Illan joined him by Mom. Dad was here now, and so were his other siblings, but he didn't care. He somewhat wished they would go away, so he could be alone, but since they were mostly leaving him in peace, he couldn't be bothered to even wish that that hard.

"I'm right and you're wrong, you lost Daddy you stupid buttface! I'm not gonna apologize because you're the one who lost him! You you you!"

Secretly, Arian was pleased that Daddy was here now. But she was too pissed that Mom wouldn't put her down to be any happier. It was all Imri's fault, so why was she being punished!

Yes, Rina could see the familial resemblance between Horatio and Ignacio. She was, however, surprised that the vixen was in some way part of Horatio's adoptive family--he hardly seemed the sort to adopt someone into his family.

Ignoring Arianrhod's futile strugglings (Rina was well experienced in such things from her older sons), she whirled on Horatio when she found he planned to leave, and leave Imri upset.

"As his uncle," Rina spoke, her voice sounding as though it were made of steel, carrying the full weight of her authority as an elder and as a mother, "you have an obligation to bid Imri good-bye. To do so will cause no harm to yourself, while not doing so will distress him."

Her eyes met his, and bespoke of what would happen to him far more strongly than any words she could have voiced would have.

Arian stopped squirming and talking once Mom turned on the green 'deva--Uncle Tio or whatever--because Mom was pissed, and Arian hadn't ever seen Mom this pissed, not even that one time that Caolan had tried to sneak away, because...because he was Caolan and that was the sort of thing Caolan just does.

It was really hard to get a good view of what was going on dangling from Mom's mouth, though. What the hell--Mom was right. Some words weren't a big deal at all, especially if you didn't mean them.

"Sorry, Imri," Arian said, not meaning it at all, but it was enough to get Mom to put her down, so Arian skittered back a bit, so she could get a really good view of the whole thing, and not bee to close anymore. This was gonna be so good.

Well, this was turning out to be an interesting day indeed. Zen turned to Riki as another full grown 'Daeva and two more kits arrived on the scene. She couldn't help but smile at the face he made when one of the new kits climbed atop his head. Had the kit just called her funny looking? That was new.

Zen padded over to Jiriki and sat down. Seeing as how most of the adults in the clearing weren't in the best of moods, the black and white 'phim decided it was best to fade into the background and not speak unless she was addressed. She felt horribly out of place among the arguing family.

Dervla smiled a bit as the tail she was curled in wrapped closer around her. She had picked the perfect napping spot. Now if only she could get everyone to keep their voices down a little bit she could actually take the perfect nap.

The small kit listened to the conversation happing above her and had to agree with the vixen that Uncle Tio was being a jerk. But then again, most of her family was jerks. Or the 'Daeva's in her family seemed liked jerks. At least the owner of the fluffy tail wasn't a jerk.
