Haven't heard of it, however this would fit better in the Space Marine thread about two spaces down.

By info, I think Dart had "fluff" in mind when he made this. I don't know, I'm just thinking it'll fit better over there.

GenewooX3 is it true that dreadnoughts were dead space marines? Not quite dead, injured badly but salvageable to be kept alive by machines. They are kept in stasis in a sarcophagus (the big square part of the dread ) until they are needed.

The best Dread is actually a character named Moriar the Chosen, A blood angel who fell to the black rage but still became a dread....(in game Moriar Gets D6+2 attacks in CC) hehehe I love him!

Dreads are nice, but you have to put them in the right spot other wise they don't do very well. That BA dread sounds nice. I'd like him.

I see no real use for Dreadnoughts, I can rarely see them making up their points as they are really just large monsters out on the field yelling "Shoot me" rather loudly. That just doesn't work well when you only have a 12 armour, and your opponent has a Strength 10 Ap 1 weapon. I don't know...

But then again you are also playing Grey knights. Dreads are a bit of a rare thing for your Legion are they not ? Dreads do well only when given direct support, other wise they die turn one. I useually send mine in via death wind drop pod fairly close to what I want to shoot at. They can't assault the turn they land but they sure can Rend the hell out of something with that assault cannon. At least that way they live till turn two or three depending on reserves rolls.
