agreed, its hard for any one to agree with him. he always seems to start s**t no matter what the topic is. i didnt accually know the canadians had a hip hop scene. i thought they were more or less rock from the things ive heard that come out of there. but then again i dont pay much attention to who listens to what.

I'm no expert but we have a fairly good roster. Buck 65, Classified, K-Os, Kardinal Offishal, Saukraties(sp) but thats all I know off the top of my head.

I love hip hop... and I can honestly say that hip hop will never die.... just like any other genre of music... this is why it won't die...
as long as there are people that feel like they are being held back by society, hip hop will appeal to those fans... because not all hip hop is about drugs and money and all that crap... thats only the mainstream rap that you hear from commercial rappers...
but there are hip hop artist that talk about real life situations, and they appeal more to hipp hop fans then anything else... thats y people flocked to Eminem... cause his songs are real... i'm not talking about the songs that come out on the radio like "lose it" or "slim shaddy"... i'm talking about his songs that won't make it on he radio b/c they are to real for the radios to play it... most hip hop artist have that as well...
so as long as people feel like they are being held down... or people that don't have it well off in life.. they will take to hip hop... trust me on this one, i kno.. i live in a very harsh city... and i've lived here all my life... and most people in my city listen to hip hop because it appeals to their needs

xXx White Lily xXx If you look at music ten years ago the trends are very different. I dont think any genre of music will ever 'die'. It might not be as popular as it is now but as long as there's at least one person out there who still listens to it and who still loves it then it'll never be truly dead. Just my two cents on the matter... @GreenDayFreak, dont you think that's a little strong? Would you like it if the type of music you liked died? Have some respect for hip-hop fans.. ugh hmm alot of rock music is dying now if you think about it. The 80s were all (big) about rock now its hip hop and rap. Yeah people need to respect different genres because im sure their is somthing a person could get into about rock, rap and possible country (not saying i like country though). I think rap will take a trend but it will allways be about the lifestyle of certain rappers wich tends to deal with drugs and sex. Ludacris is not that popular.

evilbrainbabies lately hip hop has gone down the drain. and its still going. it makes me sad that it is happening. it makes me more unhappy though that every other genre on mtv is doing the same thing... hip hop may suck nowadays... but it hardly deserves to die... nor people "dancing on its grave" for our more closed minded members... rock is doing the same thing though... just look at bands from the 90s to todays music... simple plan, greenday(yaya, i know they have been around since the 90s. but im talking about there new "music"), good charrlotte... this isnt really rock... not the rock that i remember. the lyrics arent any better either. just like hiphops... so if one goes down, chances are the other will be doing the same thing youre quite right, what happened to the days when "Rock and Roll aint noise Pollution?" The new bands anymore have made it noise pollution albums like "American Idiot," "Young and Hopeless," I used to actually like Greenday but then American Idiot made cover I wanted to kick the corporation in the nuts, in my opinion that album was disgraceful to what the Rock n' Roll forefathers gave them. I am proud to say that I am a fan of the "good ol' days" when rockers actually "rocking" today with lines like "I dont want to be an american idiot" it is like a kick in the face, I mean no offense to someone who likes that album. I learned a few days ago that you need to respect ALL genres, I turned to this kid (we were riding in a bus, and he literally raped the english language until i told him to speak it right, he was playing a rap song for his ringtone) I said "Rap Sucks," he just turned right around and says "What do you like? Rock?" "yeah" "well I can say the same thing to you" I dont think Rap and hiphop is all bad, like I recently heard a Eminem song that was really good, he was talking about how his daughter is always wanting to spend time with her but he has to lie to go rap and make a living, in the end he loses the love of his daughter because he lied. I thought that was a pretty ok rap song. Then I cant put down ALL country either, I am an avid listener of country, but I dont like it enough to buy CDs, my mom listens to it so I have too. Angry American by Toby Kieth, that song is just brilliant, I could make a list that is huge of all the good songs Ive heard from coutry, rap, hiphop, rock. anyways, im done ranting, but the point is, it isnt all that bad. And no a genre can never "die" it may go underground but wont die.

well in my opinion rap, hip hop, and ever other genre out there doesnt necisarrilly suck. if it sucked then it wouldnt exist. its all a matter of how people see it. in this case listen to it. eminem is a good rapper. he pisses me off with how eletist he is. and also how much he lies about how he grew up. but still, he makes music that people often are able to relate to and make people think. unlike other rappers, like lil jon that just make you say "what happen to the idea of sophistication?" i personally like the roots of rap. the rap that was around before i was even born. stickin with comptons old skool beats is alot better than some young buck(just callin out a name, dont know anything about him) that grew up in middle class suburbia trying to talk about how they know anything about the hood. at least when nwa talked about bitches and money, they spoke what they really meant. unlike these new rappers that are spending more time on "bling" and jackets in newyork that look like you have to blow them up with a bicycle pump...

In my opinion, I think the dance hip-hop is cool. Wish I could. But the music hip-hop, I really don't like. Trully, hip-hop is going to die. I think it's just stupid, and most of the subjects of the songs are all about the same. How unoriginal. That's my opinion.

From my opinion, i just hate it when rappers like 50 cent{no offence 50`fans} use rap as a way of talking about sex-drugs-girls. i mean, really, those kind of songs really have no point from my opinion. T___T;;
