on the O'Reily Factor, Bill O'Reily, said in 2003 that hip hop would die in 10 years, and focused on ludacris, ludacris said that hip hop would never die, but at this rate how correct is that statement. first of all, most hip hop artists have resorted to talking mostly about sex and drugs, because its the popular thing. secondly, there a beef between every other artist out there. most of them are really stupid. like 50 Cent beefing with Fat Joe and Nas, its just stupid. then we have crunk music. its arrogent and sexist. and then we have g-unit, 50 Cent practically sux alot of artists into G-Unit, and then starts beefs with people. i think if this continues, then bill o'reily might be right, people don't want to be apart of this and if nothing happens to stop it it will esculate, and don't get me started about Suge Knight, when do yall think the death of hip hop is, and whats your opinions on these things

If you look at music ten years ago the trends are very different. I dont think any genre of music will ever 'die'. It might not be as popular as it is now but as long as there's at least one person out there who still listens to it and who still loves it then it'll never be truly dead. Just my two cents on the matter... @GreenDayFreak, dont you think that's a little strong? Would you like it if the type of music you liked died? Have some respect for hip-hop fans..

Blasphamy! I just went to a Hip Hop party on Boxing Day and it was very much alive from where I was standing! The whole place was just blasting with the awesome sounds of Dangerdoom, Sage Francis, Beasty Boys, Gorillaz, X-ecutioners, DJ Format, Coolio and even Jay-Z (he's got some good ones). Even if the genre was to die, its influences would still persist in other genres, just look at the nu-metal bands! The essence of Hip Hop isn't sex or drugs, its RESPECT! Don't mean to stereotype but most of my Hip Hop infatuated friends are the most open-minded and music-dedicated people I know. Screw 50 cents and ludacris (Ludacris has very shitty lyrics in my opinion), you can't use them as evidence for the decay of Hip Hop! That's like using Simple Plan (no offense to SP fans) as an indication to the direction of Punk Rock.

when hip hop/rap/techno dies ill be happy but still it dont bother me to have these kind of artists in the world even though i dont like their music. My main point about rap from my eyes is sex/drugs/angsters/and girls who are in a bikini dancing their a** in front of the camera...

How can a genre die? There's still hip hop/rap records and albums out there.. So as long as there's music out there, it can't die.
and Bill O'Reilly is a huge douche in my opinion. I can't believe I have the same last name as him. talk2hand

For some reason using cartoons for many underground hip hop bands seems to be a pretty trendy thing lately, not sure if its cheaper or more expensive but it sure gives way to the talented modern graffiti artists out there. Techno in my opinion is no where near as popular as it was in the 90s (thank god!) but Hip Hop seems to have taken quite a boost, ever heard the wicked tunes of Dangerdoom? But yeah, there are good artists and bad artists, the only thing you really need to remember is to not let the bad ones be your basis for judgement. Koi and Lilly: Wow, thanks! redface

You are obviously a big musi fan, and a passionate and well spoken one at that. And the reason they use cartoons is...hmm...I call it the Trojan Horse effect, where something dense and thought provoking is hidden within a fun looking and inviting shell, and it invades the ears and attacks their logic and lays waste to what they originally thought of the topic at hand. Of course, thats just a theory...

lately hip hop has gone down the drain. and its still going. it makes me sad that it is happening. it makes me more unhappy though that every other genre on mtv is doing the same thing... hip hop may suck nowadays... but it hardly deserves to die... nor people "dancing on its grave" for our more closed minded members... rock is doing the same thing though... just look at bands from the 90s to todays music... simple plan, greenday(yaya, i know they have been around since the 90s. but im talking about there new "music"), good charrlotte... this isnt really rock... not the rock that i remember. the lyrics arent any better either. just like hiphops... so if one goes down, chances are the other will be doing the same thing

O'Reilly is an idiot. Talk shows that only cater to extreme right or extreme left sort of people hardly ever have anything good to say. Speaking of cartoon video's Universal Soul made a really good one for Back In Tha Day and Classified has a few animated videos worth watching. Nothing better than someone rapping about New Foundland and PEI. Canada's where it's at for Hip-Hop.
