Mau sighed, switching the TV off. "Coffee? Tea? Another game?"

With the humans distracted with the square thing and the picture box, Aki chased Newton out of the room, hoping up and bumping his nose to the balloon pokemon now and again like a seal and a ball. This pokemon was fun! "Va!" Aki rolled over once and swatted at Newtons arms like a cat with ribbons.

Aki was about to try and jump on Newton when he started to float back into the rec room. Aki tilted his head and bounced after him, squeaking out a cute, high pitched "Va! Va! Va!" with every bounce, wondering what he had heard that drew him back.

Mau nodded, walking over to the coffee pot, and looked at the available coffees. All cheap store bought stuff. "Do all grunts drink this domestic dreck?"

"Energy supplement?" That sounded vaguely interesting. "Is it all natural, or chemicals?" If it was just a chemical junkpile, the conversation was pretty much over here.

Aki eyed Newton and then the thing he was fumbling with. What was it? It was a box. Another box. What was with humans and all their boxes? Aki pawed at the box curiously. "Poreon?"

Aki tilted his head and poked at the box again. What is it supposed to do? Aki couldn't help but wonder. But since Newton wanted the box to do something, Aki wanted to see what it could do!

"Well, don't load it up with synthetic crap. That usually makes things taste like crap." He set the coffee on. "Like this coffee. Processed untill it tastes like cardboard steeped in sewage."

Mau grows berries! Maybe the box wants some of them? Then we can play games with it! Think it would like berries? Aki couldn't help but be excited that maybe he could help his friend in a game. And games were fun!

Mau laughed at that. "Very few people here have any taste... or class. But I suppose that on the grunt salary... this is the best they could afford." He tisked a little. "Should try growing my own coffee. Hm... I wonder where I could grow them..."

Aki had to think about that a moment. In our room. I don't know if he grows grapes... But he has lots of leppa berries! With that Aki bound away from Newton. Come on, I'll take you there! We'll be back here and playing in no time! He glanced back at Mau who was digging out some mugs. Satisfied they wouldn't me missed, Aki slipped out of the room.

Mau was trying to find some mugs that weren't questionably clean. Though anything in the common rooms was questionable. Finally finding mugs that didn't have coffee remnants, Mau gave them a rinse anyways as the coffee pot turned off. "You take yours with cream or anything?"

Mau brought over a mug for Nyx, and the basket with creamer and sugar packets before setting down and getting his own mug.

Aki stopped and swayed his tail a little and waited for Newton to grab a hold of it. As soon as Newton had it, Aki bound along again like a child with a balloon.

Mau sat with Nyx for some time. He couldn't stand the coffee, and it sat barely touched, and now cold. They had passed the time talking about their various research. They'd been talking for hours now. Well, talking, amidst the arguing and banter about the others research. Finally noticing the time though, Mau cleared his throat.

"It's almost midnight." He stated. "My shift in the lab starts in a few hours. I believe I shall take my leave, Nyx. It's been... quite interesting talking to you. We may have to do this again sometime." With that, he stood, taking his mug to the sink and pouring out the rest of the vile liquid. "Aki? It's time to... Aki?" Looking around the room, it was suspiciously empty.
