Calvin nodded a little before humming a little thinking of a topic to start on. “Well, um, earlier you when you were coming onto me. It made me wonder. Why you would even think to hit on a teacher? Was it allowed at your past schools? Or do you just have no boundaries when it comes to people?” Calvin asked being honest about wanting to know they were even in this position.

Hanson thought for a moment, looking up at him. "I...just really like you. I didn't think about consequences. I've learned that a moment's a significant place in time that you'll never get back no matter what you do. When an opportunity comes flying at you, you either dodge and stay safe or you get hit in the face and take a chance. You never know what the outcome is going to be."

Calvin grew quiet thinking about his answer. “Wise, Very wise, but if you really took a chance on me liking you back, then what do you say the outcome is as of now?” Calvin asked wanting to know where Hanson thought he was pertaining to their relationship status.

"As of now? I'd say I probably have no chance in hell on ever dating you until I turn eighteen and graduate. You stand by your morals, and, as you've said, I break all of your rules. I've already just slipped by some of your weak defenses, but now I've run into a thousand-foot tall, fifty-foot thick, solid, steel wall with no doors, windows, or even chips in it and the only weapon I have to get through are my bare hands. There's no way I'm getting through that wall unless I worked on it nonstop for two years straight." He sighed softly. "I'm not dumb. I know I'm chasing after a lost cause. But, I'm the kind of person to play Russian Roulette with a fully-loaded gun."

Calvin started laughing at Hanson’s metaphors. “Well… don’t take this the wrong way, but under different circumstances. I would have to say I would probably get you a rope to climb over that ‘thousand-foot tall’ wall. You would still have to put in the time to climb that wall but you know it would help still” Calvin said with a sly smile. He really did like Hanson as a people, they both just happened to meet at the wrong time, at the wrong place. “Oh and just so you know, I don’t think you the kind of person who would play Russian roulette with a fully-loaded gun. I think you are the kind of person who would play tag in a lion’s den. The first choice you die, the second you die unless you are extremely clever.” Calvin said trying to point out that he thought Hanson wasn’t dumb enough to play Russian roulette with a fully-loaded gun.

A small smile twitched at Hanson's lips. "So... What you're saying is that if I try at it hard enough, I might have a chance before I graduate? Or I would just have a bigger chance for after I graduate?" He asked so it was clear to him. "And, by the way, I have played Russian Roulette with a fully-loaded gun. I just wasn't the one shot." He then got quiet after the words slipped out of his mouth. He looked down at his coffee cup, watching the liquid ripple.

Calvin looked at Hanson with a curious look “What do you mean you have played Russian roulette with a fully loaded-gun? Wouldn’t that mean you should be dead?” Calvin asked softly a little confused as he looked at Hanson.

"It was with two people. Me and...my brother... We both had a fully-loaded gun... And we flipped a coin for whoever shot first... We were shooting at each other... So, technically, we were flipping a coin for eho lived and who died... ...I got to shoot first..." A teardrop fell into into his coffee.

“Why in the world would you play that kind of game with your brother?” Calvin asked reaching across the table and lifting his head a little to look at him before wiping Hanson’s tears away with his thumbs. There was so much he didn’t understand about Hanson and his life and to be honest Calvin was afraid of what he would find if he ever did find out, but sadly Hanson only let him into select pieces of his life.

"I...I was eight... I didn't understand... He just told me to play a game with him, and I thought it was fun... Until I actually shot him... I've always had great aim... I wish I hadn't then... He knew what he was doing... No matter what the coin landed on, he knew I was going to shoot him... It was his plan... Because he couldn't do it to himself..." His whole body began shaking now. "He was sixteen...and he wanted to die... So he put his life in someone he loved's hands... He didn't want anyone else to do it. Just me... I know that... I meant more to him than anything else in the world... He wanted someone he could trust would do it right the first time..."

Calvin frowned looking at Hanson before standing up and hugging him warmly. “That’s horrible.” Calvin whispered before pulling back. “Come on, let’s go talk in my car or while I take you home, I don’t this is exactly public conversation.” Calvin told him before helping him out his seat and leading him out to the car to talk if he wanted to continue.

Hanson allowed Calvin to lead him out to his car as he continuously wiped his eyes to rid himself of tears yet to fall. He slid into the car with a sniffle, continuing to wipe at his eyes. "I-I don't want to go home yet..," he whispered to Calvin after he got in the car as well and shut his door.

Calvin nodded to his request. "Okay, you don't have to go home, I'll take you anywhere you want to do in the city if it'll make you feel better okay?" Calvin told Hanson a little curious as to if he really did have a spot like that in town. In his own opinion, everyone need that place were they could just relax. For Calvin, it was is apartment. It was his shelter. He could design and change it however he wanted to, and it was a place that he could just be himself at and not have to worry about the world around him. No rules could apply to his space if he didn't want them too.

Hanson nodded slightly, huddling up in his seat. "Just...Take me anywhere...anywhere but home..." He hugged his knees, burying his face in them. "Actually... There...there's one place that makes me feel better..." He glanced over at Calvin. "Can...can you take me to the waterfall outside of town..?"

Calvin frowned a little hearing that Hanson wanted to be anywhere but his home. It made him worried as to what Hanson’s home life was like. He was a teacher, teachers were suppose to watch for signs that pointed to abuse right? Who cares if he just happen to be spending a little extra time with this one student. Calvin nodded quickly. “Of course, We can do that.”Calvin told him after hearing about the waterfall. “You’ll just have to tell me where it is okay?”He told Hanson starting the car.
