Milo frowned slightly. "Why? Video games are cool." he said, confused. He already said he wanted to play them, so why was his brother suggesting alternatives? Oi, that made no sense. "I like video games." he added, just for clarification.
Matthias sighed. "I'm not silly. Once upon a time, what you just said was true. Then came along two orange-haired devils, who seem to enjoy twisting the laws of nature to their whims. They're the ones who mixed your father's DNA and mine together. They're the reason your father was pregnant to begin with." he explained. He then smiled. "Leyla, you're part fae. Elves don't have wings. Fae do."

Loki smiled, and nodded in understanding. So Milo liked video games? Why had he seemed like he didn't, then? "After video games, we can watch movies or something. I bet you fall asleep before I do," he challenged his twin. So far the latest he could stay up was two o'clock in the morning. He was determined to beat that record! Maybe they'd stay up to three, or four, or even six!
Leyla was silent for a long while. She frowned in thought. "But Daddy never told me... Daddy doesn't like you," she mused. "Why doesn't Daddy like you? You're nice." She studied him for a moment longer. "You don't have wings," she said. "You're lying. Lying's not nice. Stop it."

Milo smiled. "Yeah right. I could SO stay up longer than you. Just watch! You'll be snoozing by eight, I bet." he challenged, grinning. Milo was a night owl by nature, staying up to the wee hours of.... 10am?!?1 It was a wonder the boy wasn't a walking zombie during the daytime.
Matthias shrugged. "He fears that which he cannnot comprehend, and sadly, I am among the that category." he explained. He then frowned. "I am not lying, little one. Wings run in my family, although it is a recessive trait. My mother had wings, but I didn't. It's more common in girls among my family, though it varies bloodline to bloodline."

Eight? Just how long did Milo plan on staying up? "Bet you I won't," Loki replied. He could always hope, right? Maybe if his twin was there, it'd motivate him to stay up longer. "I'll stay up as long as you. Whoever falls asleep first--whoever falls asleep first has to tell someone something mushy."
"Daddy says fae are scary, though. He likes Auntie Risa, she's not scary," Leyla said with a slight frown. "Am I scary? You're not scary. But you don't smell like you taste very good." She made a face. "Daddy tastes good. He's the only one."

Milo grinned, grabbing his brother's hand and shaking it. "It's a bet. Can't wait to see who you get all mushy-gushy with, bro." The boy snickered, confident in his chances of winning. As far as he was concerned, Loki had no chance what so ever at staying up longer than him.
"Some elves fear fae." Matthias explained, hugging the little blue child. "You're not scary, Leyla. Not at all. And you need to feed off others. People aren't meant to be fed off of repeatedly or too much."

"You just wait," Loki grinned back at his brother. "You'll be the one getting mushy. Who do you have in mind?" he asked with honest curiousity. Did Milo like someone?
"But I don't like how others taste," Leyla complained. "Only Daddy will do. He tastes the best... but he's been getting sick..." The infant looked concerned for a moment. "He turns gray, sometimes, Matthias. And he makes sounds. Like he's hurt, but he never tells me. Why doesn't he tell me if he's hurt? I could make him better."

Milo smirked, playfully punching his brother in the arm. "Psh, I'm not getting mushy with anyone. Why would I? Romance is for chumps." Psh, silly Loki, thinking that Milo was stupid enough to fall for some girl.
Matthias chuckled. "He doesn't tell you because of a thing called an ego. Don't worry, you'll understand with time." he said, smiling. "Though, you should try someone else and give your father a break. Too much of a good thing can be bad for you."

If Milo was so determined not to get mushy, Loki was equally determined to stay up later than his twin did just to make him do so. "You'll have to, if I win," he teased. Hm, who did he know that liked Milo? That was an easy answer. "You know, I bet just because you said that," Loki paused, grinning at his twin, "romance'll trap you."
"Oh... But if he's hurt, he should still tell," Leyla said with a slight frown. "Who should I try?" she asked. "You don't taste good, and I don't know about Mommy. Daddy won't let me try her. Loki tastes okay... Devin tastes second best, but he cries when I try. He says I hurt him."
