Tsume watched as Hige took the two-legger on his back to make the trip easier. Tsume snorted, it was Hige's choice not his. But he did agree that making the pups run at pace with them would be murder, and it would slow them down, a lot.

He walked over to the pups and quickly picked up the white one. (Winter) Making sure his hold was firm but not painfull he followed the only mated pair in the pack. This should be an interesting journey indeed.

Loki watched Hige semi-awkwardly "pick up" the two legged pup and start off with her. She waited a minute, before going to Shilah and gently lifting him by the scruff. She would be running by Hige, she decided Shilah would want to be near his "sister". She trotted by Hige, looking back to make sure the others would follow. It was almost surreal that she was leading anything, after the past she had run out of. She wouldn't let this pack turn out the same way her birthpack had, she wouldn't let pride seep in and take hold.

Upon Hige's mention of the thorn bush, Loki laughed, almost dropping Shilah, and would have turned bright red if possible. Ohwell, at least it wasn't a boring first meeting. She made half effort to nuzzle him in return for the comment, finding it difficult to speak around the pup hanging limply from her jaws.

Thayne fell in on Loki's Hige's other side, slightly behind. It was a bit shocking to see a two-legger riding on Hige's back, and while he wanted to be near his brother, he couldn't bring himself to yet be so close to the girl.

After a few steps, he concentrated on the pack moving out. Truth be told, he was happy that they were moving on after all. Yes, he was tired of moving all the time, but he expected this trip to be the last -- at least for a long, long while.

He, like Hige, kept his senses alert for any sign of shelter for the lot of them. It'd take a nice-sized place to shelter them all. There had to be something on the way.

And what about the new packgrounds? Thayne didn't know anything about them, and his curiosity was aching to be satisfied. He swallowed his nervousness and moved up beside Hige, though still a few paces to the side, keeping his eye on Kaya the whole time. "Th' new groun's -- what're they like, eh?"

Hige just smiled a bit, understanding Loki's predicament. It had been difficult speaking while carrying Thayne as well, on their first pack's move.

He let his attention part from Loki, to Thayne, though he would eventually have to balance it again. He wanted to make sure that Loki would be alright on this trip, unlike the last. He still mentally bertated himself for that foolish overlook of her condition....

"New lands? Well... there's a huge body of water... like a dozen lakes, the sea, is what I think it was called." He thought back to his pup memories, the conversation he'd had then with one of Tai's packmembers. "There's sand all over, and the water plays up on the land. There's forest too, it stops kind of suddenly where the sand starts, but the woods stretch on from there, all the way back to the freelands." He grinned a bit, getting a little nostalgic and feeling a bit of excitement. He couldn't wait for the others to see it, and hopefully give their approval. "The air was really warm when I was there. Lots of space..." He grinned a bit, letting out a wistful whine. Oh but he could just smell the sea air now!

Water filling space the size of a dozen lakes? Sand reaching to the trees? Warm air? Sounded like a hell of a place! Thayne had never been anywhere with seriously warm air. His build was for cold-air climates, but he was sure he could get by.

He noticed how Hige kept looking back and forth between him and Loki. It took him a minute to understand why, then remembered how sick Loki had gotten after the last move. Thayne didn't want her getting that way again any more than Hige did. So he moved over to Loki's off-side and trotted along beside her. "If 'e gets t' much for y', I can switch wi' y'."

Tsume kept pace with the other wolves easily, barely noticing the pup he was holding.

A warm place with endless water and sand. Didn't sound all that inviting, but no one could just judge from hear-say. He would decide when he saw the place whether he liked it or not. The promise of warmth sat rather well with him actually.

He kept his eyes and ears open as they walked. Being taken by surprise right now wouldn't be something fun indeed.

Winter had been so suddenly picked up, leaving her with no choice but to dangle from Tsume's maw while she was carried along. At first she had kicked, struggled almost, against her being picked up and carried by someone else, however after a while her flailing settled and she hung helpless, swaying lightly from side to side with the males every step. Her eyes kept a quiet stare upon the wolves in front of the pair, mainly, however, on their tails, a grin plastered upon her own muzzle as she watched those tails sway back and forth. This caused her own to sway aswell, which made her appear as a very happy, content puppy.

"Are we there yet? Are we there yet?" Winter would question Tsume repeatedly throughout the trip, brilliant blue eyes gazing carelessly about the area. Upon a small area of brush rustling in the distance, her ears perked instinctivly, curiousity peaking as she peered about. "Lemme down! Lemme down!" She suddenly helped, her flailing starting up again as her paws swung at the air in the direction of the ground. "C'mon! Lemme down already!" She kicked, making small grunting noises while doing so. "..Please.. I thought I saw something?" She complained, flapping her limbs even more at another visible move of the brush in the distance.

They went on for a while like that, conversation, when held, light.

He could make out Winter's repetitive questioning, and wondered how Tsume was handling it.

It seemed they had to walk quite a ways before they finally detected the scent of moist moss, faint though it was. Hige paused in his steps after slowing down from their trot.

A cave, maybe?

An old bear's den site, perhaps?

"Wait here." He said while lowering his massive body to the ground, wuffing at the human child. He was asking her to let him go.

Once she did finally manage to get off he scooched from under her and trotted forward, tail straight.

The scent of whatever had previously inhabited this den was anything but strong. It was something of several large rocks pitched together to form an upside down, and very crooked entrance. It was big enough a "door" for them to fit through, however, and Hige wandered to the mouth of the potential resting spot and took in a few whiffs.

Something had just scampered inside, and seemed very disturbed at being caught. Whatever it was, it wasn't coming out either.

Peering further inside, shoving his head into the mouth of the cavern, body tensed for an attack, Hige discovered a pair of snow-white rabbits looking fit to have a heart attack.

The problem of dinner for the pups seemed to be partially solved, as well as shelter. Two birds, one stone. >3

He kept the entrance blocked, calling back to the others. "I found some rabbits, they led us right to shelter, isn't that nice of em?" He smirked, not allowing room for the rabbits to escape, even as they tried finding a back exit. "I'll flush them out, Tsume, Loki, guard the entrance."

Tsume did everything he could to not grind his teeth and accidentally hurt the pup he was carrying, but her endless questions and her squirming really started to get to him.

The grey gladly dropped her, a bit rougher than needed, when Hige called the group to a halt. He glared down at the white pup, his ears flat with annoyance. "Listen up you, a pack on the move should be quiet. Including little ones like you." He snorted at her, his anger slowly ebbing away. "Loud noise attrackt other predators, and little pups like you are a nice snack for them."

He looked up as Hige called them over. So they had found food already? Lucky on that one. He grabbed Winter again and set her between the teens by the other pup. "Don't stray off. We can't be bothered by looking for a pup in the storm."

With that he headed over to the entrance of the tunnel, waiting patiently for the prey.

Hige's husky form disappeared quickly into the dark. Growling and snapping jaws could be heard, and a moment later one rabbit emerged, the other already a fallen victim to the brown wolf's jaws.

The rabbit attempted to quickly get past the other two before they could react.

Tsume launched imidiately as the small puff of fur blazed out of the entrance. Used to hunting rabbits he tried not to imitade the creatures crisscrossing flightpattern or he would wear himself out, and the rabbit would get away.

Instead he just ran as fast as he could. Once he got withing reach he pounced, planing on finishing the hunt quickly. ((And I leave this open if anyone else wishes to jump in ^_^. If not, well he got it then.))

((*sigh* Sorry I havn't been here, I'm failing miserably in school, and whatever bug I've caught isn't helping. Good news is, the quarter ends soon.. sweatdrop ))

Loki let Shilah down to play with Winter and trotted by Tsume's side to take a position against the rabbits. She heard Hige's fight with the one, and watched Tsume run after the other. She readied herself for the catch, and when Tsume pounced and the rabbit bolted out from under him, she snapped forward, taking the white animal in her jaws. She quickly killed it, afraid that in her surprising success at first mamalian kill she would let it get away.

Thayne, meanwhile, was left with Balan and the two -- well, three -- pups while the others were catching rabbits. He watched with a half-grin on his face as Tsume and Loki trapped the second rabbit. He half-fenced in the two wolf pups with his forelegs and leaned down slightly. "Looks like rabbit's for y' supper," he quipped lightly.

Balan's ears perk for a moment and he raises from his silent musing... "I'll be right back..." He says to whomever is listeing at the time..."I think I hear another one...I'll fetch it.. Can't hurt to have another right?"

((Awh, c'mon, no dying now.))

Loki took a moment to recover, the freshly killed rabbit hung loosely from her jaws as a large wolven grin plastered across her maw. She trotted past Tsume to join Thayne and the pups. Dropping the rabbit in front of them, she sat, wondering if the two legger pup ate rabbit. Ohwell, Shilah knew how to take care of the two legger, most likely, if they were pack brother and sister. She licked her chops and nudged the rabbit towards the pups, letting them know they would eat first as long as she was around, even if she was "alpha".

She grinned at the little white pup. So pretty and so full of life. She stood and turned, giving a playful and possibly inviting wag of her beloved fluffy appendage. She took great care to keep her tail looking clean and spiffy. If the pup had a thing for tails, then a tail she would get. heart
